It was all impressively reminiscent of a NY bagel. Great density, chew, and crust. The cream cheese was administered generously. Ambiance - The establishment presents as a classic New York bodega with a deli counter layout -- compact, no-frills, and entirely appropriate for its intended function. Great place if you want something with quick service and great food. Service - Quick, functional, and to the point. No complications noted. Assessment: A neighborhood gem and so thankful we stumbled upon it. Royal Bagel Bakery delivers an authentically New York bagel experience in an otherwise unlikely corner of Germantown, Maryland. One downside is they got very plain coffee, but it's the type of place where I'm looking at the coffee purely as fuel, and nothing more. The egg white omelette was good, filled with chopped tomato, green pepper, mushroom and onion. The home fries (a large portion!) were delicious. Just seasoned potatoes with onion, but really good. They had open pet chicken barbecue and pulled pork. Also, they are giving out free donuts (glazed or powdered cream) and lemonade. Fortunately, the coconut custard doughnut that I purchased was amazing. They did not skimp on the coconut or the custard for mine. Since my husband did not have any cream in his, I took some out of my doughnut, and it was still plentiful. I also got us two chicken halves, and a medium size of the Amish macaroni salad. I purchased a medium of the crustless chicken pot pie for myself. We both loved our chicken. It reminded us of the smoked chicken at Smoky Glen Farm.
