They have talent here, but no tact and they really dropped the ball when it comes to professionalism. My 13 year old daughter has the sides of her hair shaved and was looking to get a design shaved into one side. There were three young men or boys and one of them was the expert in designs so he did it. The three men conversed with each other as if my daughter, myself and my 2yr old weren't even there. They used profanity, spoke obscenely, and frequently used the "N-word". I was offended and asked them to be respectful. They would calm down, but continue. Towards the end of our visit two older barbers came in and one spoke up about the boys using the foul language and the racial slur and commented on how none of them were black to which they defended their usage of the word by implying it was a term of endearment. It shouldn't make a difference, black or not, you don't talk like that in front of customers especially people you don't know.
What a joke. I will never patron a business that would tolerate such disrespect. You could argue a barber shop is a place for men to let loose and a judgment free zone just as a beauty salon is for women, but I'm a patron that needed a service. Personally, I feel just as you're being taught how to cut hair, you should be taught how handle yourself as a business person and be respectful and professional.
I will add, the design done on my daughter's hair was amazing, he jammed it for sure, but not worth the disrespect at all. read more
