Came in for my first haircut in nearly two years and initially had a good impression. The barber was welcoming and seemed to understand what I wanted. Unfortunately, that changed quickly. After the first cut, I wasn't happy and politely asked for small adjustments. Due to a miscommunication, the haircut ended up worse. When I asked for it to be fixed again, the barber became visibly frustrated and started complaining about having to make multiple changes, saying I was being excessive and that it was too much work. I even offered to pay for additional time or cuts, but the attitude continued. Mistakes and miscommunication happen -- how a business handles them matters. In this case, the lack of professionalism and customer service made the experience uncomfortable and disappointing. I wouldn't recommend this place based on my experience. read more

We met the owner, Eli in 2016. He cut my son's hair once. Marco (who is no longer here) cut both my kids hair from 2016-2020? Was good. My son now goes to a Frankie. He's good at what he does, talented at designs, friendly though he can come off as quiet. who we have followed him 3 times. (I dreaded to come back to this shop after Frankie said he' was going back) as the wait time before was so long -1-2 hours? no where to sit and wait at times and not a welcoming feeling at times. After we returned, it felt different from the last time we were here. Felt open, brighter, etc. All the new guys welcome you when you walk in and acknowledge you leaving. I asked for a mid fade and an inch off the top and the barber gave me a high n tight. The top of the hair did not blend in with the sides well and the fade was way too high. Please listen to your customers better. read more

My son was in need of a haircut and we decided to look around for a new barber to check out. Most of the locations in surprise are ok, but none I've ever found to really come back to. Waits are very long and on Sunday's it is hard to find a location with more than a few people working. We decided to check out Barber E's Shop. Parking lot is good size and easily accessible. We walked right in and we're greeted instantly. The location is really good size and nice and bright inside. Plenty of seating as well. They do appointments, but we were welcomed right in as a walk in. We lucked out and we're able to get right in. The man cutting his hair listened to what we wanted and started right away. There were people walking in pretty consistently and all greeted. Prices are fair for what they offer. You can get beard trims, hot towels, shampoos, fades and more. There was a TV with football on today as well. My son is particular with his hair and he left happy. It was exactly what we had asked for. We were in and out in no time. read more

Guys this is a place to go when you need a haircut and you don't want to go to a salon. Lots of testosterone, discussion of sports, and haircuts. Really good haircuts. I walked in on a Saturday and there was no waiting. I told the barber what I wanted. He asked a question or two then proceeded to cut my hair. When he stopped it was exactly how I liked. This is first time in 2 years from moving from NYC that I had a haircut I liked; just like back home. I have already recommended this location to several men I know IRL. Sent my hubby in for a haircut (he usually does it himself, but I wanted him to have a clean one)... no offense to the shop, but he got the complete opposite of what he asked for, by Marco. He asked for short on the sides, cause his hair grows fairly thick, but NO SKIN. He came home with all skin on the sides, and a sloppy mop on the top. He ended up shaving the top of his head yesterday, to make it somewhat even, but he still is basically bald on the sides. Don't even understand how the communication could have gone this wrong. He looks ridiculous. It will grow, but... wow. The photos posted are AFTER he shaved just the top himself. The sides we are hoping grow back ASAP. Looks like we are spending some extra time in the sun to even out the color at least lol... he's embarrassed to even go out in public. read more

As someone who has frequently moved around the world, I can honestly say that one of the most difficult parts of moving somewhere new is figuring out where to get a haircut (I'm super picky). I got lucky as this was the first place I went to after I moved to Phoenix and the only place I go to after 2 months of living here (haircut every 2 weeks). Jesus is my guy; super nice dude and a masterful barber. It's also apparent from watching that everyone here is a top notch barber. Great, professional atmosphere as well. This review is not about the quality of their work but about the lack of adherence to COVID-19 safety protocols. They don't ask people to keep their masks on once they're seated and one of the barbers was wearing his barely covering his bottom lip. Edson gave me the worst haircut ever. I've gotten my hair cut by three of those barbers- John, David, and Alex- and they've been nothing short of great. However, for the sake of time, I rolled the dice with the next available barber who I thought would be another fine cut. I came in with a typical comb-over type hairstyle that should be in the pocket of any cutter. Asked for a #2 low fade on the sides blending toward the top. Then asked to have a little cut off the top to still comb over. Too easy; however, what I got was a #2 basically all over my head. No hair left to comb off the side part, cowlick was ripped off, and the six inches of hair I had on the top was now cut down to two and a quarter inches--which barely left me any room to comb over. This was basically my basic training haircut where anyone can cut this style with their eyes closed. Thanks Edson. There wasn't even an apology when I told you that you cut too much off. Just a blank stare. Lack of attention to detail on you, lack of mentorship from the business (if you really happen to be a new guy), and ignorance on my part for trusting a new barber. Oh well, hair grows back I guess. Thanks to the rest of the fellas for the great haircuts but I think from now on I'm better off investing my time cutting my own hair once again. read more

Our first choice barber shop was crazy busy and our kiddo needed a haircut before soccer. The vibe seems like it's a younger crowd which I don't mind. They were playing some hip hop music. Franky cut our little guys hair today. I still do prefer our other barber shop, as his barber there is amazing!! They're just always crazy busy!!! I made an appointment online through vagaro with Alex Alejandre at the Surprise shop and showed up just before the appointed time, checked in, and was told he was cutting someone else at the time. When that was done, Alex motioned for someone else in the waiting room to come to the chair and started a cut. It took quite a while, so an hour after my appointment time I spoke to the employee at the desk and gave him the courtesy of telling him I was leaving. He responded "He's almost done. Would you like to wait?" I think it should be clear and evident that an appointment is supposed to work BOTH ways and is an agreement or commitment to BOTH parties who may lead busy lives and NOT just for the convenience of the service provider to maximize his income. Time management and customer service would be a couple of courses I'd advise being added to barber school. read more

I went this place because my regular barber was out of town. The reviews on Yelp were good so I thought why not give it a shot. My regular barber is in Tempe and I live in Waddell. I was impressed. I got a great haircut and a decent price and only drove 12 minutes. I will be back to this place for sure.
