    Charred Carrots
    Margaret L.

Classic French fare in a classic setting... Not impressed with the food but the atmosphere was nice and service was great. Duck frites - duck was cooked nicely and the skin was crispy. Not seasoned a whole lot. I would easily take a Peking duck over this. Ratio of fries to duck was too high. No ketchup to dip the fries into. Half chicken - also cooked well, wish there was more sauce/jus. The mashed potatoes had a silky smooth texture. Charred carrots - bland, wish there was honey or just more seasoning on them. Labneh underneath was great but not enough. Do not recommend. Paris Brest - favorite bite of the night. Rich pistachio flavor and crispy/crunchy layers. Small though. Approx $80 after tax/tip. The food was just ok, not worth the steep prices. Service and ambience definitely stand out here more, though my gripe is some of the tables are way too close to each other.

Frenchette has been on my list to visit for a while. Finally had dinner here for nyc restaurant week. This classic French bistro is a must visit. Elegant restaurant, lively atmosphere, perfectly dim, and delicious French cuisine. The service was also top notch from start to finish. My friend and I shared everything. My favorites were the fish soup, the duck hache, and the passion fruit caramel. I also haven't had veal in a while and I also enjoyed this dish. I would definitely come back and try their steak frites and brunch menu. Great date spot for a romantic dinner or casual outing with friends.

Came here for the chase preferred $75 credit after spending $150. Bar seating was the only available reservation same day. Smoked trout beignets - fried crispy goodness with mushy insides that has a ham taste, definitely entertainment for the mouth. Soupe de poisson (fish soup) - rich but not too creamy, delicious! Duck frites - the duck is super tender and skin thin crispy. Fries were good. Tartare de beouf - first time trying beef tartare. Has a unique first-taste that tastes sweet like bubble gum...took some time getting used to. But I liked it more than I expected. Didn't read about the fries.

I have returned back at Frenchette! The atmosphere is lovely and buzzy with excitement and life! The staff are always knowledgeable and lovely with guests. We ordered bread, oysters, and crab beignets to share! We each got a cocktail and ordered a bottle of red. It was all right per the recommendation :/ I honestly didn't like my duck confit the second time lol ... very disappointed but my friend loved her tartare! We did not get the soufflé as it sounded premade so we get the pistachio donut thingy! We had three rounds of the dessert wine so definitely get a round of that over the dessert! We had a great time and that was all that matter :)

The oysters with sausage and sourdough pancakes were the stars of the show here -- well-prepared, simple dishes with flawless execution. The duck hache was also good, but was more like a duck burger on mushrooms than a hash. Service was friendly if a bit stiff at times, and the insistence on not taking appetizer orders ahead of time was a little odd. The vibe at brunch was relaxed, and the table spacing is nowhere near as packed as it is elsewhere in the city.

Smoked Trout Beignets- Ranchette. $16 Decent flavor

Shoutouts first go to the very friendly woman working as the maître d' was able to accommodate our group of six as the person who made our reservation goofed. If I was just judging this place on service, I'd be giving this place five stars. Also side note: They charge $9 for cappuccinos...oh (wasn't mine at least.) Restaurant Week 5/many. Anyway, I went to this very popular bistro very recently for Restaurant Week (which I will be shortening to RW from now on) which is $60 for dinner or $45 for lunch sans dessert. Outside of the woman in front, our waiter was also nice helping with orders as well as allergies among other things. We were cramped but that was all on the person who made the reservation and the inside had a nice cozy ambiance with somewhat dim lighting. I ordered a Gin with Calvados to drink for $20 which had plenty of said apple brandy and it was sweet with a slight bitterness at the end from the gin. It was tasty and mostly worth it because of the amount of alcohol. Before I begin the RW menu review, there were a few other dishes ordered off the a la carte menu. Someone ordered the Baguette for $12 from their bakery with beurre demi-sel. Outside of its absurd price point, it was pretty standard. It had a good crunch but I have preferred the flavor from many other spots with my personal favorite baguette in the city being from Le Fournil. If they're going to charge for bread, it has to be really good (see Four Horsemen among others) but this wasn't worth it. The Smoked Trout Beignets with "ranch'ette" for $16 were decent coming with five pieces. There was a bit of fishiness and smokiness from the trout though the texture wasn't very beignet like. For the rest of the dishes below, I'll be listing the price point on the menu outside of RW though the portions of course could be different but they seem similar. I started with the Soupe de Poisson listed as a fish soup with saffron aioli which is normally $23. I had asked the waiter to confirm that there wasn't squid in there (I doubted but made sure) and apparently it's made from crab, shrimp, fish, and some other things with there being I believe a toast point or something similar in the middle of the soup with something creamy on top which was nice to mix into said soup. The soup had a nice stock and plenty of fish flavor with some texture from the stock and was a highlight of the meal outside of one issue. Said problem was with adding crab as there is occasionally going to be some pieces of cartilage which has the same texture and consistency of plastic and I unfortunately got three pieces of it which was not a welcome surprise. Outside of that, this was fantastic. My main dish along with a few others was the Duck Confit with romano beans and frisée which is normally $34. The duck was very tender compared to most spots with perfectly rendered fat and the mix of greens was nice. It was however surprisingly salty for a duck confit and it could have used a bit more crunch. It was decent with some major faults with a good portion size. Another person had the Poulet Rôti with a roast chicken and pommes purée which I believe came with the same where a quart is normally $28 (from the lunch/midday menu) which they appeared to enjoy. In prior years, it seems the dessert choice was from the main menu and I was looking forward to having the Pistachio Paris-Brest but unfortunately they had a special menu for desserts. My choice was the Gateaux Aux Myrtilles (or blueberry cake) with honey cake and mascarpone glace. Said gateau had a nice texture and I appreciated that the dessert as a whole was not super sweet with there being a pleasant floral flavor. The blueberry flavor were fresh whether it was the sauce or the berries themselves and it was a pleasant light dessert. The other options were a daily Sorbet (cantaloupe and some other flavor) as well as a Chocolate Mousse with Crème fraîche Chantilly and cocoa nibs which someone else liked a lot. This wasn't my favorite French place I've been to nor even my favorite bistro I have had for RW (the pretty close by La Sirene beats this place by a mile for instance) but the food was overall good with some faults in most dishes. If the service was lackluster or the portion sizes weren't adequate, I would give this place a star or two less but that definitely wasn't the case here. Mid 3 rounded up for good so in other words, a very accurate Yelp rating overall.

Food: The food is quite delicious here! We tried the tarte tatin d'échalotes, pate de campagne, duck confit, and the country rib chop. Everything was delicious, but my favorites were the tarte tatin d'échalotes and the country rib chop. The tarte was packed with flavor; it was like a French onion soup in tarte form. The country rib chop was perfect - moist, tender, and so flavorful on a bed of sauce. I would highly recommend both of these dishes. The pate and duck confit were good but not as memorable. The pate is a coarse pate, and it might just be my personal preference for a smoother pate. Service: Service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Someone kept coming around to refill our water throughout the meal. Our sever also came to check on us after our food was served to ask how it was. Ambiance: This is a very elegant French restaurant - simple and beautiful decor with dimmed lights in the evening. Seating is comfortable. They can accommodate both small and large groups. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Beautifully decorated Parisian bistro offering warm service and delectable dishes, perfect for a date night or a celebratory night out. Smoke trout beignets was a nice starter. Brouillade was recommended and paired well with the house made baguette. It was my first time trying this dish--the buttery creamy soft eggs with escargot did not disappoint but the star dish of the night was definitely the duck frites, which was perfectly prepared and seasoned. Cotriade Brettone was enjoyable as were the charred carrots, but not memorable.

A very popular and busy restaurant . We had a mixed experience . We ordered a baguette which was cold and would have loved a warm roll . Then came our salad order. This was superb! The best fresh and crispy lettuce salad we have ever eaten . Yes I'm getting excited over basic greens but this salad was phenomenal! Then came our entrees. The steak and frites were perfect. Skate was served sitting in oil and that's probably how it's supposed to be but it was too oily for me and I would have preferred 1/4 of the oil . Service was spotty . We will come back to try the duck frites

Came back for a quick dinner and ordered wayyyy less this time around. Started with the house bread, paired with the brouillade, followed by a steak frites and a duck frites. The duck frites was not on the printed menu however our server was kind enough to ask the kitchen if there was any duck prepped and available. Lo and behold, there was a duck breast available to be served with the delicious Mornay sauce. I had two glasses of a heavy red suggested by my server, which was great for leisurely sipping. I still left very full and with a to go bag with leftover frites. My first visit included a green salad, white asparagus, and everything else that I ordered during my second visit. Three dishes between two people seems to be the sweet spot. Love Frenchette, bravo again.

I thought this was a delightful surprise while staying in Tribeca Wine List was all French & just what I was seeking plus they had several affordable options that were not heavily marker up. 60 Days Dry Aged Rib Eye Steak was Epic altho it was $295 and the gnocchi was a puff and very intriguing! best gnocchi that i've ever had.

Fun time! Very limited restaurant week lunch menu and you could choose other items off menu for more money. We had a green salad, fish soup, chicken Roti (was a 1/4 chicken. Dark meat was undercooked) it came with creamy mashed potatoes. I took chicken home so I noticed the doneness later on. We also had poached fluke almondine. That was very good. We also had the chocolate mousse which was light and airy and fabulous!

There needs to be more duck dishes around the city. We were so excited bc sometimes they don't have it. Frenchette is a super romantic & cozy spot (rly tight tables) with classic French dishes. Def a date night spot. If the duck is on the menu, it should be on your table. Prepared slightly red - very French of them Gets a bit gamey as it cools down. Perfect frites to dip into the béarnaise sauce. Tarte tatin is solid with good carmelized onion flavor and richness from the bone marrow. Kinda salty tho. I would pass on the fruit salad (probs a summer menu anyways) just bc it felt too simple for the price. Quartered peaches and tomatoes with bitter greens. BIG fan of the blueberry dessert. Served with SWEET CORN ice cream!!! ‍ You can tell they have a bakery bc the tarte dough is super flaky and yummy. So exciting. duck frites $58* tarte tatin $18 salade de pêches et tomates $31 tarte aux myrtilles $18* 내사랑 오리 저번에 갔을땐 메뉴에 없어서 아쉬웠는데 요번엔!!!

It was a large and comfortable space. Just surprising that it was somewhat empty for a Friday theater night. A bit of a touristy feel at first, has to do w/ the fact it's in Time Sq and in a hotel, but the food was definitely not touristy. I had the 1605 signature salad and the crab cake entree. The salad was tasty and well constructed, but small on portion size. The crab cake was the best crab cake I ever had, even better than Obrycki's in Baltimore, chock full of crab, not much filler at all, and good blend of spices. My friend had the onion soup, the grilled watermelon salad, and the mac/cheese. The onion soup was decent, good amount of cheese and the bread had still a crunchy edge, but soup base a tiny bit on the salty side. The watermelon salad was pretty on the plate, tasty, but again, small portioned for its price. The mac/cheese was ok; the cheese they used was overly pungent. If they just stuck w/ a nice cheddar, it would have been better. The neighboring table ordered the chicken pot pie and the skirt steak; both looked delicious. I would definitely go back for the crab cake and maybe try the pot pie. The prices are affordable for each item, btwn $14-32. If you just want to order one thing, avoid the salads; they won't be filling. But if you're going to order more than one thing, then it can easily be over $30/person. The restaurant.com certificate definitely helps. They also have a pre-theater prix-fix 3 courses for $25 that seems like a good deal.

They don't give enough toast for it. But the real issue was midway through our mains we were asked to switch tables so it would be more convenient for the table next to us. We declined as the is is an absurd ask midway through our dinner, I was literally mid bite. We ordered dessert which was fine. Profiteroles, tasty, simple. When it came to the check the server brought the wrong check and we paid, he then realized afterwards it was the wrong check- ours was 7 dollars less. He said he voided the first set and recharged for the new amount, except he never actually voided the initial charge, I had to reach out 4 days later and request a refund. All things I should not have had to deal with. Crappy service and a poor experience won't be back!

Let me be fair before I am critical: the Warwick Hotel on 54th Street is a genuinely nice property. The rooms are well-appointed, the location is excellent, and the overall experience of staying here has been a pleasant one for our family of four. The staff at the front desk and throughout the hotel have been courteous and professional. Which is precisely why what passes for a continental breakfast at Murals on 54 is so jarring and so difficult to overlook. The contrast between the quality of the hotel itself and the quality of what is being served at breakfast is stark enough to warrant a review entirely on its own. We received complimentary breakfast vouchers for four guests, valued at $24 per person, as a courtesy after our room was not ready upon check-in on Monday afternoon. We appreciated the gesture sincerely and understood that delays happen. What we did not appreciate was discovering what $24 per person actually buys at this restaurant, and what it communicates about how seriously the kitchen takes its responsibility to the guests it serves. The pastries were stale. Not slightly past their peak, but genuinely stale, the kind of stale that suggests they were not baked that morning or perhaps even the morning before. The croissants, which should be the centerpiece of any respectable continental breakfast and a point of quiet pride for a hotel of this standing, were rock hard. A proper croissant should shatter delicately at the first bite, yielding buttery, laminated layers that dissolve almost immediately. These required effort to bite through. Serving hardened croissants at a hotel of this caliber is not a minor oversight. It is a failure of basic quality control that any competent kitchen manager should catch before a single plate leaves the pass. When the most fundamental item on a continental breakfast menu misses this badly, it sets a tone for everything that follows. The "fresh juice" was not fresh. It was bottled, made from concentrate, and tasted exactly like what it was. In a city where fresh-squeezed orange juice is available on virtually every corner and in nearly every diner and café within walking distance, describing bottled concentrate as fresh juice is misleading at best and quietly contemptuous of the guest at worst. The word "fresh" should not appear anywhere near a product that arrived sealed from a distributor. This is not a minor semantic quibble. It is a misrepresentation of what you are being served. The yogurt was Chobani, presented in its original retail cup, placed on a plate and brought to the table. A cup of Chobani yogurt retails for well under $2 at any grocery store in the neighborhood. There was no granola, no fresh fruit, no honey, no accompaniment of any kind, and no presentation whatsoever beyond the cup itself sitting on a plate. It was a grocery store product served in a restaurant setting at a restaurant price, and there is simply no graceful way to characterize that as acceptable for a hotel of the Warwick's reputation. We are genuinely grateful that the vouchers made this meal free for our family, because $96 for four people for what we received would have been indefensible and infuriating in equal measure. The Warwick Hotel clearly holds itself to a high standard across every other dimension of the guest experience. The rooms are lovely, the service throughout the property has been warm and professional, and the hotel carries itself with an elegance that its history warrants. Murals on 54 is not currently living up to any of that. We would sincerely encourage hotel management to revisit the continental breakfast program before more guests are asked to pay $24 a head for stale pastries, bottled concentrate, and supermarket yogurt served without even the pretense of presentation. The hotel is genuinely better than this. The breakfast should be too.

I would have never thought I'd dine at a Vietnamese restaurant inside of the historic Warwick hotel…read more! I'm sure lots of people know but this is one of the most famous hotels in New York and growing up here it was always talked about this place because the Beatles and The Supremes stayed at this hotel. So it was an absolute honor to even dine here. . I dined here with a small group and during prime time dinner hours and it wasn't too crowded (though it was the middle of the week) that's probably the best time to dine here to avoid a crowd. . Listing out everything I ate in the order of "will come back just for this" : - Seared Bass w charred onion dashi, mushrooms, bok choy, pickled fresno - Shaken Steak: Cubed angus beef filet, watercress, tomato, pickled red onion - Spicy Papaya Salad (contains lobster) - Chilled Vegetable Summer Rolls: Thai basil. lettuce, radicchio, pickled carrot, cucumber, mango coulis - Buttered Mushrooms (side) - Crispy Pork Spring Rolls - Salt & Pepper Calamari - Roasted Salmon - Seafood Pho
