We stopped at Tartinery, a cafe bar on the lower level of Grand Central Terminal. There was a long line for takeaway, so we sat at a table to rest. They have salads, smoothies, pastries, bowls. I had a chia bowl, with bananas and berries. This was a nice portion, and not sweet. My companion had a smashed avocado toast with soft boiled egg. We had a relaxed leisurely lunch before we made our way upstairs and back into the bustle of Grand Central.

In the midst of the hustle and bustle of Grand Central Terminal in the lower level is a nice spot with a wide variety of pastries and sandwiches at Tartinery. I was able to pick up these 3 gems. Service was great and friendly and the treats were decent.

Quick and convenient spot in or off the train. Available to grab and go when you need something quick.

Tartinery is located in the Grand Central station, with seating available for patrons dining in. On a rainy day in NYC we decided to explore the station and try out the drinks to go. I decided to try the matcha latte. The matcha latte was so bitter and had a fishy aftertaste. This drink was simply hard to finish. At least the drink was made efficiently but could definitely use fresher matcha powder...

My family and I had a really uncomfortable experience here that completely ruined what should've been a simple meal. We were seated by a host with no mention of any "5-minute ordering policy." Right after being seated, I stepped away briefly to use the bathroom. My family was waiting for me to return so we could order together. Within under 10 minutes of us being seated and closer to 5 minutes an employee who claimed to be the manager approached our table and began yelling and making a scene at my family, stating that if we didn't order within 5 minutes we had to leave. His tone was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. What made this interaction especially concerning was that: * The restaurant was not busy * There was plenty of open seating * No other tables were approached, rushed, or warned in this manner Despite explaining the situation, the manager did not apologize and continued to be dismissive rather than de-escalate. Because our table was the only group treated this way, the interaction felt targeted and uncomfortable, and it raised real concerns for us about profiling or selective enforcement of rules. Regardless of intent, that perception matters especially when guests are treated differently without explanation. Policies aside, there is no justification for yelling at customers, particularly when the policy was never communicated and the restaurant was not under pressure. We left feeling embarrassed, disrespected, and unwelcome. This was a clear failure in basic customer service and management.

Amanda was a pleasant host and was very knowledgeable in her job as well as drinks. She gave a pleasurable experience and has a wonderful and witty sense of humor! I ordered the watermelon cooler which she made perfectly as it wasn't too sweet, which is what she also appreciated and recommended. My partner ordered the cucumber drink which was rather refreshing and packed with cucumber flavor. Which was great because I loved that there was an actual cucumber slice in the drink. It elevated the drink for sure. Wish there was more of selection of spirit options. It was indeed a convenient area to wait for your next scheduled train at metro north. I love the ambiance and the marble counters.

Stopped in here for a quick drink. I only had coffee. The place was bustling with activity as it was in the station. The service was ok. My cup had grinds under it when I picked it up which did not encourage me to order anything else. Not sure I would stop in again if I were there, too many other options nearby.

I went here for happy hour drinks with two colleagues of mine where the drinks are 50% off. Just know that there's no reservations needed here as it's all first come first serve so it's all just walk-in. It's hh from 4 to 7pm and all day on sat/ sun. It isn't a bar so it didn't have that kind of feel to it. More like a small restaurant/ cafe vibe and they serve lunch and dinner along with alcoholic drinks. I ordered the only non alcoholic drink, Ghia Spritz. It was alright, it had organic botanical spritz, rosemary and orange all combined. But wish they had more options. Overall, it the vibe of the place is good.

Great place to sit down and have something to eat, the hostess was very nice and excited about seating me, it's right in the middle of the room so you can see everything it's a little bit on the noisier side. A lot of people traveling.. I ended up having a coffee and an almond croissant , my daughter had a banana nut bread, both pastries were OK. It was just nice to sit down and eat at a table .

Came to this place because they have happy hour from 4 - 7 and it is in a super convenient location. That being said, almost nothing else besides the happy hour was good. We got a sandwich, because of the namesake and it was quite small and pretty bland. The charcuterie board was standard, nothing great, but not bad. The service here was SLOW. It took me over 30 minutes to get a beer that I ordered. The servers were apologetic, but that is insane for a draft beer. Overall, good for the location and drinks ONLY. Would only recommend coming if you are in the area and need to take a Grand Central train. Otherwise, would not recommend.

High prices but quality is quite good. Liked their cappuccinos and some of their croissants. Service is hit or miss, it gets super busy so the staff don't seem very attentive at all.

Great spot to sit down and have a snack before venturing out. Fresh squeezed oj made for a great mimosa. Had avocado smash toast, salmon lox toast, and croque toast. Service was friendly.

Tartinery is my favorite eatery at GCT. Love the variety of food and everything is always delicious. The fig & brie ficelle, sandwiches, salads, juices, and smoothies are the best! The staff are always kind and considerate. Thank you :)

Overpriced and rude. Not worth it for a tiny open faced sandwich. A complete rip off.

A smoothie sounded like the perfect snack so I headed inside. Juice Generation is a small shop, mostly meant for take out orders. There is a small counter in the front you can stand at, but for the most part it's just a space for customers to wait and the counter and workspace behind it. To the right is the menu. The decor is really fun, centering on the brand logo and New York City itself. The place was super clean and organized. I was quite impressed. I wound up ordering the Peanut Butter Split consisting of Plant Milk, Peanut Butter, Banana and Frozen Coconut Milk. The staff was friendly and whipped the smoothie up very quickly. The Peanut Butter Split is perfect if you are into peanut butter and banana flavors. It was also not so thick that you would give yourself a headache drinking it. I really enjoyed it! This is a great stop if you need a quick drink, smoothie or snack.

The storefront on 9th avenue is very small with very limited seating but the vibes are great. The staff is helpful in letting me know what the menu has to offer. The fresh pressed juices are good and I love how the smoothies don't have any added sugar. Something else to note is that they do have food options - they're limited but there's still a decent chunk to choose from. Plus they come with protein too. I liked how my bowl had all the fixings and the pastry was "guilt-free" The prices are a bit hefty but for fresh juice and a yummy sweet treat, I'd be back for more.

I don't know why but something just same over me and having a juice beverage sounded correct - it must have been the nice weather that has finally hit NYC. Anyway, we headed over to check it out. JG sells a variety of juices and smoothies in several flavor combinations. Some of them are fruit-based, some are milk-based, and some have additions to help with immunity, detox, etc. Since I'm not a regular juice or smoothie drinker, I was looking for something with flavors I liked and not loaded with calories. I found that in the Cherry C Monster - this contained cherries, pineapple, dragon fruit, banana, and orange juice. The smoothie was quite good - lots of cherry flavor and surprisingly not too sweet. Service was fast and efficient - they're pounding out those smoothies at a rapid pace so my order was ready in no time. Overall, I had a good first experience at Juice Generation - I don't think it will be a go-to based on my tastes, but if the mood catches me I would definitely return.
