First off, I was so deeply disappointed that, at a beer garden, the "free pretzels" were not hot street pretzels. I digress. The beer is definitely an acquired taste. In a hipster area, their IPAs are probably beloved, but not for my tastebuds. Furthermore, their hours are very restricting. Visiting Seattle from out of town and have enjoyed checking out the local beer. Fremont Brewing was a fabulous place to stop! The beer selection was fantastic, a range of different styles to try for all palettes. In addition to the great beer selection, there is ample seating both inside and out. Cute place - industrial feel with some seating thrown in. The brews on tap are rotated seasonally and are pretty good. I think that the atmosphere is why most people come here. Everyone's smiling and happy and chill. With plenty of outdoor seating, good beer, and good company, why not? I had a 5 hour layover in Seattle. All I really know about Seattle is that there's good coffee and good beer here. My hopes for the latter were dashed when I saw that my layover was in the morning. But lo and behold, Fremont Brewing opens at 11:00a. Guess what time I showed up at their door? $4 pints and $8 growlers with delicious beer is unheard of in my current city. I loved their Proletariat Porter--the taste, the name, everything. Plenty of tables, pet-friendly, nice staff. I do hope I can come back for more than just a layover. read more

Awesome brewery tasting room with a massive local following. Really spectacular brewing prowess gives them some crazy awesome mouthfeels on their beer. A good amount of tap only one-offs makes this a must stop on your beer journey. Dark Star cask treatments were crazy good. All of their hoppy beers were incredible. No Cowiche Canyon bombers to go, but plenty bombers of Kentucky Dark Star. Glassware for sale. Some growlers were priced at $9 for glass and fill, which was crazy cheap to me. Staff was a bit snotty at first, but lightened up. Tasting flights available/easily identified with a dry-erase "key." Loved it here. If you want food, looks like surrounding vendors will bring food or you can bring food in. Must be a really cool law in Oregon and Washington that if you serve beer, you have to allow food in if you don't serve food. Love that. read more

This was one of my biggest bright spots during my trip to Seattle. Fremont is a cool place with random statues to check out and Fremont Brewing is near by when you need a break. The beer was cold on a very hot day. I really like the whole beer garden set up and would definitely be a regular if I lived in the area. 5 stars since I don't think I would change a thing. read more

I loved this brewery! Not only are the beers awesome (try the Summer Ale!) but they also sell growlers which they'll refill at a good price! They have a nice little inside area but it was a nice day when I went and the had this huge garage door open to their patio area! I tried four of their beers that day and like them all! I really enjoyed it here. Varied beer selection with something for everyone. Tasty beer, unique glasses, friendly staff, great location, you couldn't ask for more! They have a really spacious yard with tents and tables. You could actually talk to people here, too - so this is a great venue if you want to catch up with a large group of friends. This place does seem to get crowded though so I'd recommend getting here early and setting up. The prices are great. You're getting great local beer for $5 or less. I don't think I saw anything above $5 but that could change. They also had some interesting brews going here. One of the beers I really enjoyed was a jasmine beer - pretty awesome. read more

I love Fremont. The atmosphere, the beers, everything! Fremont brewery is located in a hip and younger area of town. You're sure to see some dogs inside and on the patio enjoying beautiful days. I've tried numerous of their barrel aged series that we got as a wedding gift, I'm not sure you can get them anymore. I also recently tried the Sister with rhubarb and mint, it didn't dissapoint! read more

This place is great for an evening get together, while drinking solid brews and nibbling on pretzels. I'm partial to the Universale Pale, but the Interurban and Summer Ale are also great picks. The space is frequently crowded so it can get pretty loud, especially as the night goes on, but it has a real open, community feel. I'd definitely recommend stopping by when the weather's nice (and dry) for a place to chill with friends, colleagues, and/or dogs. read more

What the choices in beer lacked in diversity, the awesome beer garden made up for. The beer menu is small and quite IPA heavy, but the summer ale and rye ale were good for those of us who prefer less than 80 IBU. The staff was a bit pretentious when asking about the offerings but the free apples made up for that. The beer garden was ohebominal and they encourage outside food. Do yourself a favor and pair the summer ale with a tangy smoking chicken thigh sandwich from Paseo and write me a thank you note later. read more

This is a large brewery with a lot of seating outside and inside, but it's still always crowded. They're are 100s of people there on the weekend. The service is fast and friendly. They offer complementary pretzels and apples, which is healthy and great. The only downer is I don't really love their beers. Not many IPA choices and they don't rotate beers very often. My husband loves this place and their beers, so if you haven't been it's a must try for sure. I'd like to give this place 3 stars, but I think they deserve 4 stars for all the beautiful flowers they have outside! They've created a beautiful patio outside. read more

I love beer. And I'm a little suspicious of anyone who doesn't. Specifically, I love microbrews, and again, I'm uneasy with the likes of those who can't see past their cans of domestic brew. Fremont Brewing is one of the best new local breweries I have seen. And surely my opinion doesn't stand alone since I can't go out for dinner or drinks without seeing their tap handle almost every time. These guys just have a talent for getting it right. Every Fremont beer I have tried has been nothing short of amazing, from the standard Fremont Pale to the Interurban IPA to the Solstice. What's even better is that you can swing by their "urban beer garden" with your friends, dog and takeout to sit back and relax with a pint of your favorite Fremont brew while chatting up the always friendly Fremont brew crew. read more

Amazing beer, super cool place with a huge outdoor sun deck outside and bleacher seating inside. All of the beers are fantastic, but my favorite beer of all time is their Interurban IPA!!! Their Summer Ale is awesome and unique too, but I'm afraid it might be seasonal only. Right across the street from the Burke-Gilman trail. I ride my bike there from Bothell and back quite often. My husband, 16 yr old and I and a large group of friends (three other teens) visited Seattle in late July. We did the tourist things-we had been to Ballard locks in the morning. This brew garden was a great way to socialize and not feel like such a tourist. I loved many of the beers-esp the raspberry sour which was light and delicious. They have no kitchen but welcome/encourage outside food (they may be a west coast thing-it was new to me). You can sit for hours and play games. Great way to relax on an afternoon. read more

Good brews, good people watching, and great outdoor patio with several long community tables covered with awnings, as well as several cask-turned-tabletops for drinking while standing. I'm not a huge IPA guy, but when in the PNW, do as the locals do. With that said, this brewery was really great. The outside seating area was perfect for a summer Seattle day, the bartenders were helpful and informed, and the beer was crisp and delicious. Although IPAs are not my thing, the beer here was fresh, affordable and just different enough to keep my palate on its toes through an affordable flight. Prost! read more
