Very disappointed and WAY over budget…read more I brought in 3 bikes (Dad + 2 kids bikes). I just wanted a 'basic tune up'. They had it listed somewhere around 80 bucks. I was absolutely shocked when I went in to pick them up and my total was almost $1500.00! I said there must be a mistak, was just looking for 3 tune ups... The mechanic (without any communication to me) decided that my 13 year old son's bike needed a top of the line performance mountain bike derailer that cost more than what I paid for the bike! To be clear, these are not Walmart bikes, but we like to buy used and take care of them. Then, many hours of 'labor' were also added to my bill. I showed up expecting $300-$500 in tune ups and I actually had to leave 2 of the bikes there because I didn't have enough $$ to pay for them. Pretry disappointing for kids who were looking forward to a bike ride with Dad that day. I talked to someone who was the mechanic and she said, "...yeah, he shouldn't have not called you...so will this be cash or card?" If your Tour de France team needs bike maintenance and has an unlimited budget, this is your place! If not, go somewhere else.

A few weeks later, my friend told me of a garage sale that Penn Cycle was going to have on a Saturday morning. I was shocked by the deal I got for my bike at the sale! I'm a tall guy, and needed a city bike to just get around somewhat frequently. I got a city bike for $200 that was normally $660! I also got a U-Lock and a brake light for 5 bucks each-basically a steal. While it was much busier than they expected it to be, the staff was extremely friendly and quick to help where they could. They also had a repair truck up and running in case anyone needed some tools to desemble their bike for transportation. I never would have came here if I didn't find out about the garage sale they had-but I'm glad I did!

The tape install was good, the derailleur adjustment was below what we have experienced at Flanders, Now, Behind Bars and Recovery. We are new to the area and looking for a bike shop, will try Valley again, but our first go around for service was disappointing.​ At $149, the parts that were adjusted were not cleaned, the first time we had ever seen that work done while omitting the cleaning. We always shop and support independent shops.
