Excellent customer service. Was thinking of changing my gravel bike's handle bars to straight bars. The owner mentioned it is usually not a cost effective option. Said it was my choice, but changing handle bars frequently require other changes. She suggested an extension to my stem. She was really looking out for my best interest, not the high priced solution. My family has been going to Trailhead ever since we moved to the area in '16. They have been absolutely wonderful to work with on buying, trading in and service on the bikes when I can't do it myself. They do a nice job of asking what you want and need before making recommendations on what to buy. They usually have multiple options to pick from. I've looked for a few items that they did not have in store but they helped find them either at there other location or ordered it one off and delivered to the store. They also have a bike group that rides out of the store and has options for all skill levels. read more

(mostly seat and fit related issues) They were really attentive and were able to work with me to get everything fixed. They can handle any bike from kids, mountain, road and tri bikes and of they don't have it in the store...they will find it for you. Anyone who needs anything for their bikes, I would for sure check this place out. In my opinion prices are very reasonable and competitive with what's around in the area. My experience with Trailhead was both unusual and rewarding. I live out of state, but my sister, who has a mental disability, lives in the Twin Cities area. Her 3-wheel bike is a valued possession and because of flat tires was not able to use it for a long time. Staff at her group home did not have a vehicle to transport the bike to a repair shop. I found Trailhead on the internet and called to see if they made service calls. They don't usually, but when I explained the situation was told they would go to my sister's residence and determine what needed to be done. They took two wheels back to the shop, made the necessary repairs and brought them back to reassemble. Trailhead charged a minimal amount for parts and labor, but didn't charge for the service calls. I thought this a remarkable experience that should be shared with viewers. read more

If I could give more stars, I would. I came in on a Sunday in November to purchase a fat tire bike for my 6 year old daughter for Christmas and explore a bit on whether a fat tire might make sense for me to use while bike commuting in the winter. At first glance, I was really excited to see the strong inventory, especially as I had been disappointed over the summer going into many bike stores that did not have kids bikes in stock. I was helped by the owner Pam and I just couldn't have been happier with the service. I love biking, but I am not particularly knowledgeable about bike setup or lingo. Pam took the time to explain to me the benefits of particular features in a way that I could easily understand. She helped me assess great options in my budget that were suited to my needs. Frankly, she told me that my existing mountain bike would likely work just fine for my intended winter purpose, but I was so darn impressed with Pam, her staff and her store that I decided to move ahead and purchase the fat tire bike for myself anyhow. I selected a number of accessories for both bikes, which the staff promptly set up for me while I was in the store. When I returned home, I was unable to find one of the lights that had been installed on my bike. I emailed the store to ask if they found a misplaced light there, otherwise I assumed that it may have fallen off on the ride home. No questions asked, Pam got me a replacement light in the mail which arrived a day or two later with a gift card inside and a hand-written note! Adding icing to the cake, I just loved talking with Pam about her business and hearing about how important it is to her to have women on staff to best serve the diverse questions that may arise on biking comfort specific to gender. I will be a customer for life. Thank you Pam and the Trailhead team for providing such excellent service. I am thrilled to support your store! read more

I stopped into Trailhead last Saturday March 16th, and was greeted kindly. I went in for a new seat and some cleats. The staff was not familiar with Specialized bikes, and they had a lot of trouble getting my seat off and new seats on my bike. I ended up putting the seat on myself because Dawn was having trouble seeing. She was a very nice women who I am sure knows Giant bikes well, but not Specialized. Since I put the seat on myself (it was the first time I have ever put a seat on any bike before) I was unsure the seat was in the proper position or even installed propperly. So, I asked that Larry who knows positioning to look at the position of my seat. I had scheduled a bike fitting for April, but I wanted to make sure I was not going to hurt myself from improper seat positioning. The co-owner Pam said he could not come over and look. I paid and left the store. I called Trailhead when I got home and asked what certifications their bike fitter had because of the staff being unfamiliar with Specialized bikes. Also I asked about putting the new cleats on my shoes. I talked to Pam and she was very rude to me. She told me rudely that I needed to get a bike fitting (my bike fitting was already scheduled at Trailhead). I asked because I didn't know how they were going to get the new cleats on the same place as the old cleats, that is why I asked her about putting the new cleats on. I still have the original cleats I put on when I bought them (I had a professional bike fitting when I bought my newest bike and shoes), and didn't know. After I got off the phone, I looked up shoes and cleats online and found out that all you have to do is trace the old cleat on the shoe so they know approximately where to put the new cleat. A bike fitting is a good thing to do, and if you mark your bike and shoes you will know the old positions of your accessories and therefore minimize injuries. Since I am a chiropractor, alignment and injury prevention is what I think about all the time. I am not sure why Pam the owner was so rude to me. I do not think she knew that I put the new seat on myself though. I had just moved to the area, and I was excited to find a local bike shop owned by a woman with a lot of women on staff. I think women should support other women. I am sad I have to find a different bike shop to support. read more

I ask what bikes they had in my price range, and in return I got scoffed at and a eye roll. if you don't have $3,000 to spend on bike don't come here. Bought a bike here in June 2016. Staff was courteous and didn't pressure me into a bike that was more expensive than I needed Service has been great. New bike purchase included free adjustments for two years. I had a bad spill that fortunately didn't break anything but required a lot of adjustments and wheel true-ing. Immediately upon arrival I wasn't impressed with the way I was greeted. I was treated like a complete idiot when explaining what my problem was with my mountain bike. My bike was rideable condition when I brought it in. The service guy brought it out on a roller stand and said basically it's worn out. The gears and derailour are outdated. The freewheel is what the problem is. It's sticking he said, I asked if there was a way to fix it and was told that it's basically worn out as well. Not offering to at least look at it and maybe clean it and lubricate it, which I was willing to pay for labor. Basically I was pissed the way I was treated. He just said that it would cost too much to replace and make rideable again. I rode 25 miles 2 days before with no problem except a slacking chain every so often. He said I am sure that we can find a new bike for you here ! One of the sales guys comes over and try's to sell me a $1500 fat bike, no I said I want to spend less than a $1000 on something and showed him which one was in stock on my phone at your store. Mysteriously they couldn't find it ? That's bullshit too ! Long story short, I brought my bike home and took it all apart according to watching a you tube thing on how to repair a sticking freewheel. Now I have a ok bike again that works great. Maybe you guys should train your employees that they should try and help out, rather than to sell a bike to someone that doesn't need one yet! The individuals that would do that are remembered in the long run. The company would be remembered for customer service and would more apt to sell bikes because of that. Such good customer service! They really want to help you enjoy your bike and it's not all about the sale. My wife and I came in 20 minutes before closing and they installed a basket, new seat and a rack on the back for us, even though they had to stay a little later to do it. While we waited another employee walked us through some of the bikes. They are very knowledgeable and made some great suggestions. I highly recommend this place over Erics. Eric's had a much longer wait time for repairs for my chain by about 2 weeks. read more

Wow what a nice bike shop! My husband & I were refered here by friends to buy bikes. We are "newbies" and were worried it would show & we would get pressed into a high end/priced bike. We were wrong! They want you to like the bike and fit it to your needs. So refreshing! No pressure! The shop is woman owned & she was around visiting/helping out along with her "army" of great help! In the back yard of her shop she had a class of about 10 women learning how to check pressure & change tires among other bike "fixes" & has these throughout the summer, along with other activities you can attend as customers. So not only did we get amazing bikes & cool accessories, we found ourselves part of the Trailhead family. Who would've thought it would be so to buy bikes? :-) read more

Larry; co-owner personally fit myself to the bike and worked in several requested add-ons. Customer service for purchase and continuing maintenance is top notch. Pam; co-owner recently helped acquaintances purchase very nice urban cruisers. Once again, exemplary service. Friendly, professional, and free maintenance seminars.
