I set up the appointment over the phone last week, made it very clear I was driving from further away and would need a loaner, everything was good to go. I arrive this morning on time and am told I don't have a loaner by the intake person. Malorie, my service advisor, said the same but said they'd handle it. I should've left right then, but they said they'd work it out. I stay, go over my car's life story with Tim, who laughs when I say I'd driven far today to come out specifically to have them service my car, and he tells me I'm just not getting the loaner and that the person who said I would had no authority to do so. I'm sorry, I don't inherently understand the hierarchy of your service department and believed what I was told by the person on the other end of the phone. I asked for a manager, was escorted to wait for no one to ever come. I made an appointment with Toyota of Fort Worth while I sat waiting, and they took my car immediately with a smile and a handshake, kind of like Freeman used to do. read more

The Service Department has gone downhill. We've been coming here for our car maintenance service since 2012 and the wait time was around 1 hour for oil change, tire rotation and occasional tire balance. But now we had to wait 2.5 hours. My fiancé has been coming to this dealership for over 4 years and I have been coming for little over 2 years to get our vehicles serviced. NOT ANYMORE! I came to get my Surius satellite radio looked at since it wasn't working. Santos brought out a Technician because I had a pretty good idea what the issue was but I wanted to be sure before I had the work done myself. The technician and Santos pulled down the end of my headliner in my presence and told me that they believe I have a bad harness as I suspected but they would take a closer look. The technician advised that it would take 2-3 hours to look at the issue and went back to work. Santos advised me that the tech will look at the issue but if I decide to go with the repairs then I would be looking at around $550 for labor excluding possible replacement parts. I agreed to those terms with the intent to pay the $550 only if i decided to do the repairs. When Santos called me back he told me that my total was around $550. I advised him that this wasn't the amount I agreed with because I didn't decide to go with the service. He proceeded to go back and forth with me on the agreed price by saying "you agreed with it" after I explained to him the communication we had. He stated that Im being charged an hourly rate for labor because they had to pull part of the headliner down. I had full intentions of paying the diagnoses fee but it was never clear that I would be charged up to 4 hours to look at the issue. I agreed on waiting but I did not agree to pay a $550 diagnoses fee. My understanding was that fee would be the amount that I would have to pay for labor if I decided to get the vehicle repaired excluding the price of the replacement part(s) needed. I also did not sign a consent saying that I approved of this amount I would be paying. I told him that I was just charged a $165 diagnostic flat fee at Grapevine Toyota to diagnose the same issue and I waited the same amount of time for a resolution. I decided to come to Freeman because the repairs that I had done to the vehicle from a 3rd party company weren't successful based on the diagnosis given by Grapevine Toyota. I wanted to get another opinion on the issue before I took the vehicle elsewhere to get it repaired. I was called back to the Service Managers office and greeted by Santos, the technician and the Service Manager "Tom". Santos closed the door behind me and stood to my right while the technician sat to my left. Tom the Manager sat in front of the desk facing me and asked me my side of the story. I advised him of what happened and he said that I'm not getting out of paying the money regards of if I signed or not. He said that I have 2 options which would be to file it under my insurance or pay up. He also stated that he has 2 witnesses that were there when I agreed to pay the money which isn't true because the technician had already left when Santos and I discussed any form of payment. Tom advised me that I agreed with paying the money when he was never present during this verbal conversation and he automatically denied my claims of the encounter. I have never felt so intimidated, attacked, threatened, and setup by any corporation I've had relations with. This was a complete scare tactic and setup to make me pay money that I didn't agree with. Tom came into the issue with full intentions of recovering the money his subordinate claimed he quoted me and cared less about what I agreed upon and my satisfaction as a customer. I proceeded to pay the money after being given an ultimatum but this was a clear example of unfairness, and unprofessional behavior. There is poor management and lack of respect to myself, time and money. My fiancé and I will be going to Grapevine Toyota for all future servicing and won't be recommending Freeman Toyota to anyone we know. After our last experience, my husband and I are now Freeman customers for life. First of all, we have been driving Toyotas for over 10 years and have only had to take a vehicle in to get it fixed once before. Our Prius' hybrid system needed servicing, and since Freeman was open later than another shop on a Friday night, (and open on weekends) my husband had it towed there. The next day, the technician told him that the hybrid system was broken and it was going to cost around $3500 to fix. However, since it was a problem that Toyota was having with that specific model, there would be no cost to us. The part they needed was to be in by Wednesday. However, they called and told him the car was ready to be picked up 2 days early! Also love how they return the cars freshly washed. In the past 10 years, we have purchased a total of 3 vehicles from Freeman Toyota. The salespeople that have helped us have always been great- low pressure and work with us to get the best possible deal. Freeman Toyota is a joke, we have a leased car from them, under 3000 miles of the 36000 miles we leased for, have one payment left of $199.00 and it is due to be turned in at the end of August. Just purchased a used vehicle here, a 2016 Highlander and I love it. Chuck who I spoke with is authentic and very down to earth. Finance is finance they are there to get as much money as possible for the dealership but they recognize that a qualified applicant deserves some perks. I left off one star for my trade, they got my trim wrong initially and it took me showing them other offers to get where I wanted to be. Freeman Toyota was my second place I looked to buy my first car, and it was total night and day from my first trip. I went to Vandergriff Toyota and the sales associate there was not friendly and lied about their pricing. He told me I couldn't afford a car in my budget unless I got a cash car. Went to Freeman Toyota today and got a brand new 2019 Toyota Corolla in my budget. Maverick was incredible. He was extremely friendly and had a wonderful sense of humor and personality from the get go, he left it all up to me as far as what I was wanting to choose from and what my price point was. He was totally transparent and honest which is hard to find in car salesmen. He was a delight to work with and made me actually enjoy buying a car. After my first experience I didn't want to even go look at cars today because I was so discouraged and anxious but Freeman Toyota completely changed my perspective and made the process wonderful. I wish I could give this place a zero. I picked out a Tundra several days ago and went to sign papers today only to find out that they couldn't do the deal due to some negative equity. I had told them about the negative equity when I competed my credit application days before and provided them payoff info on my trade in. There should not have been any surprises. I tried to reach out to the GM but they wouldn't let me speak with him directly. Instead they forwarded me to their sales manager who pretty much told me this was all my fault. He was a complete arrogant jerk and doesn't understand how business runs in the real world. By far the worst car buying experience I have ever had. I purchased a 2017 Tacoma in June and while my salesperson was easy to work with I soon realized that something wasn't right. My salesperson delivered my vehicle to my house and picked up my trade which I thought was great customer service. All paperwork was signed at my kitchen table and he then took it with him. I figured that he would take it back to the dealership and send copies of it to me... WRONG!!! I never received any paperwork from the dealership and now the bank is saying they haven't received any paperwork either. We had a bad experience here, my husband and I checked their website the night before for a car we were interested in. Came in the next day, the salesman came back and said there must have been a mix up because even though it had the same stock #, it was different from the description on the internet... by color and the type. They had a good price on the internet, about $2-3,000 less than what they actually offered us in person. So then, we decided to look at another car, and test drove it and then came back, then the salesman said it was already sold!! After trying to talk us in to get a car that was more than we were looking for, we could tell that the salesman was agitated and with a quick handshake said he had to go... Freeman Toyota needs to step it up, we don't know if this was a BAIT AND SWITCH, but it sure felt like it. They need to communicate better with their sales people on what cars are available and maybe hire someone else to do their website that knows their colors are and the difference between an automatic and manual. I then tried to buy a highlander there and their prices were so high we went to another dealer and he gave me the pick of three for way less money. I then went to buy a prius and same thing. Way too expensive and we went to another dealer and got a great deal. And most recently we went to the used cars to buy a rav4 and made an offer and they couldn't come close to where we needed. We then drove over and purchased a new CRV. I purchased a used vehicle which I was told ( out of state buyer ) was in nice condition!. Two days After receiving the automobile, the battery died which for this car everything locks down. Had car towed to mechanic. The mechanic informed that the tires are 8 years old ( definitely risky ) no fluids had been changed all filters were filthy, in other words the dealership didn't even do a "basic" service. My wife and I were looking for a new truck so we made an appointment to go see some Tacoma's at Freeman Toyota on a weekday evening. Our salesman, Tony Marquez, was outstanding. He was very clear and thorough in showing us all the features in the 2020 Tacoma and explaining what is different from the 2019. He was also very patient and surprisingly energetic considering it was already late and getting dark outside. I personally also appreciated his candor and he seemed like a very genuine guy. He gave us a price much better than what we were able to find out on the market even compared to some of the used cars we were considering! I was also happy that it seemed like it was his good pleasure to offer us such a great deal. I also really enjoyed my experience with Brandon Nabors in the finance department. He was very friendly and made great conversation with us during the process, and also explained the terms of our warranty very clearly. Overall, I know that car buying can be a painful experience but the people at Freeman Toyota made it very enjoyable and even though it's an hour away from where we live, we will definitely remember them when we buy our next vehicle! read more

If I could give it 0 stars I would. I had been getting online quotes from all the DFW area Toyota dealerships for a new 2015 Camry XLE hybrid. I was dealing with a salesperson named Kenneth Laird. He emailed me a very detailed quote on the new car including the msrp, all options included and what the rebate was and the Freeman discount. The problem was it sounded too good to be true. So I emailed him to verify the msrp and find the stock # on that particular vehicle since I wasn't able to find it on their website. One day he tells me the car has NO dealer adds. The next day he tells me it does in fact have around $700 in dealer add ons. I tell Kenneth that I cannot find that msrp on the Freeman Toyota website for a new Camry hybrid. He responds by telling me that's because the website doesn't show dealer adds. ( the same ones he said at first the car didn't have.) It still didn't make sense because with all the equipment he was showing the car had on it I couldn't find one within $4,000-$5,000. His msrp and therefore his selling price seemed too low. I then asked for the stock # of the particular car. He sent it to me and I matched it on their website and sure enough he was $5,000 off. So the selling price he quoted me over and over in writing of $24k now was $29k. I asked him about this and he responded by saying, sorry about the typo! Really? I had to do the homework and correct the sales professional on the price of his vehicle? I responded via email that that certainly looked like bait and switch. Kenneth responded in writing "LOL it wasn't bait and switch." I'm glad he thinks that being off by $5,000 is something funny! The dishonesty is amazing. I believe that they may be taught to do things like this just to get people in the door. Once in the door, they have a captive customer with a much better chance of closing a sale. Based on my experience, I would avoid Freeman Toyota at all costs. Remember the online quote you get may also be off by $5,000! Update: Received an email from the GM of Freeman Toyota, Mr. BJ Stankovich. He never apologized to me but basically stood by his employee and said he made a mistake. Said he could sell me the vehicle for the $5,000 over the original quote! I kid you not. That was their response. How generous of them! The GM also stated in writing that this was not bait and switch because I did not enter the dealership! You really can't make this stuff up. Has he never heard of customers buying cars online from home and having them delivered without ever stepping foot inside a dealership?? Remember ethical and trustworthy they are not in my personal opinion. If that doesn't bother you then buy from them. If honesty and transparency matters then look elsewhere. read more

I must be a glutton for punishment, because I actually went back to service my car here. (Plus, it seems like I have a super difficult car to do oil changes for -considering my recent experiences with NTB and Valvoline Oil Change stations) To sum up my recent experience, it's getting better at Freeman Toyota but it's still a struggle. Let me explain. So, I've figured out recently that most service centers (Oil Change stations, Mechanics, etc.) usually offer coupons online for most services. Freeman Toyota was no different, but I ran into a problem. The coupons wouldn't print out at all from the site. Since my other computer was down (that has MS Office on it) I had to copy the text and paste it on Notepad. But if you have Word / Excel you can probably screen capture (PrtScn button on your keyboard) the coupon and paste (Ctrl+V) it on a document. With a coupon in hand, I called the service center to see if I needed to make a reservation. The first call was picked up, then immediately hung up (I could hear background noise then the plastic of the phone clicking together, so I know it wasn't any technical problem). Ok... maybe the phone slipped so I called back and someone answered this time. He told me that everything was quiet and reservations were not necessary "first come, first serve". (BTW, I found out later that you can make reservations on-line if you want.) I get to Freeman Toyota and find that the service center garage was "thankfully" mostly empty (only one other car in the garage). As soon as I pulled in, a guy named Mike Mouton greeted me and took down my information. He was very responsive to my questions and took notes of what I needed done on this visit (change my air filters, oil change, and check my front brakes for possible replacement). I'm not sure how long a visit like this should take (I know that a usual oil change here takes me about 1 hour and a half) so I'll let you decide if this was a reasonable wait time by supplying the facts. 8:36 AM - I sat down in the waiting room and counted the number of other people already there waiting (5 other people). Ok, here we go... Not long after I get there, an associate comes out and tells one of the customers that they discovered the problem with her car (I guess the "Check Engine" light came on, considering the conversation). Apparently, the fuel cap was defective and there was not enough pressure in the gas tank which set off the light. WOW! The lady went off on this associate. She was yelling things along the lines of, "You made me wait 2 hours to tell me that it was a faulty gas cap!". It was pretty ugly, and the associate tried to lead the woman away cause she was being super loud in the showroom / waiting area about her problem. Anyhow, so I'm waiting, waiting, waiting... man, this one dude is super lucky on Plinko (I was watching the Price is Right with everyone else). 9:18 AM - The associate (Mike) shows up to give me an update on my car (Great! It's only been 42 minutes, maybe this will be a quick trip). He tells me that my front brakes will need to be replaced, and I agree to go forward with the replacement. "Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.... One Dollar!!! You're in the final showcase on The Price is Right!" What was weird, is right after The Price is Right was over the channel changed. As far as I know, it was some associate because it happened so abruptly and everyone in the waiting area was looking at each other (and around) to see what happened. (BTW, nobody came over and asked us if we wanted it changed, it just changed. That was strange and kind of rude.) 11:01 AM - (almost 2 and a half hours later) Mike shows up and tells me the car is done. He explains what they did as he walks me to the receptionist desk, hands me his temp card, shakes my hand and thanks me for the business. Alright, I'm drained from the waiting, but I'm feeling a little better because of Mike. I listen to the receptionist complain about other associates hogging up her printer (and messing up her system) as she rings me up for all the repairs and maintenance (which was over $300 total). I pay, get my keys, go to my car and find that I'm blocked in the garage by other finished cars..... Ugh... old habits coming back. I go to the associates and explain that I'm blocked in the garage. They quickly get some guys to together and start pulling the cars out of the way (which took some time since other people were piling into the garage at the same time - blocking me in again). After a lot of moving vehicles and about 5-10 minutes I was free to leave. Ok, I know this was a long review but I wanted to record what I experienced / witnessed and keep my details as close to the facts as possible (without getting emotions involved in it too much). I still wish they would check on people in the waiting area a little more then they do (I still felt like I was forgotten about), but Mike certainly made things a little better. read more

I purchased a car at this dealership and loved the experience. But, I also had a friend who worked there and his team was very helpful while he was around. My friend has since moved on an every interaction Ive had from that point on has been pretty awful. I call in asking for assistance with my Prepaid maintenance plan and the receptionist hangs up on me. Again. and again. until the call just keeps ringing off the hook. When I do get through to someones answering machine, no one calls me back. I go online to their site and try to chat but the operator only takes a message to pass on. But no one gets back to me. I continue to ask for my message to be forwarded but they eventually told me no they wouldnt and blocked me. Im so shocked that no one is willing to help me with something so simple! Im not a mean person, nor am I upset about anything (except now that I cant get any help). I only have questions about using the plan. So I really dont understand what Ive done wrong here. Luckily, if you call around to all the customer support numbers you can find for Toyota, you'll eventually end up in the right place. But that's hours that could have been saved with some real customer service from the dealership where I purchased my car. Shame. read more

Called early Monday morning to get an appointment at the service center. They scheduled me at 11:49, it was super busy there...I think I got the last chair in the waiting room. When I first arrived I didn't know where to go, eventually someone told me to go wait in line with everyone else and wait my turn, which I found odd because I assumed appointments would get priority. The guy said it would take an hour and my car was done in an 1hr and 15 mins. I got my 20k mile maintenance done which includes oil change, tire rotation, airing up tires to right dpi, checking to make sure everything works fine and a little car wash. Apparently with the check they found my battery to be "dead", good thing it was covered under warranty so they changed that for me for free. read more

I've been going here for years. Everyone at this dealership goes the extra mile. I've particularly been impressed with Nancy in the service center. She always does right by the customers and is very understanding and adaptable to ensure customer satisfaction even when things don't go according to plan she always finds a way to greats a 5 star experience. David did an excellent job of taking care of my Service at my appointment. I wish the service cashiers/check-in employees had the same care and service skills David had. There were other Toyota service staff who saw me waiting for a shuttle and tried to help which was much more than the Service cashiers did. The 2 stars is for my shuttle driver leaving without me, and the lack of concern & accountability the service cashiers showed when I told them what happened. Waiting inside a noisy lobby with a sleeping toddler while being 6 months pregnant is not the ideal atmosphere for me, but I tried to make it work by keeping her stroller moving to keep her asleep while I waited for my shuttle to arrive. The worst part of this experience (aside from waiting and having to walk back and forth because they don't know how to effectively corral customers) is when the rude female cashier condescendingly asked me if I followed the driver her co-worker quickly pointed out to me when they called my name. First of all, I don't work here so I don't know what the workflow is nor do I know the employees who work here. Secondly, I didn't expect to have to chase my shuttle driver with a toddler sleeping in a stroller in my condition. Lastly, when the shuttle driver came back and called out "my name", it wasn't even my name! Might be why I didn't hear him the first time. Laziest customer service reps/cashiers I've ever encountered. I give David 5 stars btw, and he saved the Service department that day. If not for him, I would NEVER consider going back to Freeman. read more

Tim in the service dept. is awesome! I came in with my new highlander that had a ding and a seal issue. He immediately addressed my issues, gave me several workable options, scheduled me for service and told me to personally ask for him. I am in the service Industry and appreciate the way Tim took care of me today. Will definitely be back! read more
