I was so disappointed in this company. I went to Cascade Mechanical this morning to purchase a…read morecapacitor for my heat pump since my air conditioner had stopped working. While talking to the manager, I mentioned I tried a capacitor that was a different size which didn't work so I figured I needed to buy the right size and asked her if that could have been the problem with the one I had bought. She said the size shouldn't matter and that there was something else wrong with the heat pump, and that she could have a technician come to our house later this morning. The technician arrived, replaced our compactor which took approximately 5 minutes and waited an additional 20 minutes to make sure it continued to work. This $55 capacitor which my husband had intended to purchase ended up costing us over $400 for a 5 minute job. What a rip off!!!!

Don Kruse has done work for us on 2 occasions on a home in Oroville. I do not recommend this firm…read morefor the following reasons: 1. Untimely performance. On both occasions, the job "fell through the cracks" and ended up taking over a month to complete an hour's work. 2. Poor communication. They don't adequately set or meet expectations regarding performance and do not respond routinely to emails or voicemails. I had to call them repeatedly to find out why work wasn't getting done. 3. Unfair and unreasonable pricing. Our most recent bill was $275 to reroute a circuit (which was a less than ideal solution, as it required a new breaker, but they didn't have the breaker on hand) and to install 1 GFCI outlet. 2.5 hours' time charged at $85 per hour, plus parts, for work that should have cost half that amount. Kruse apparently thinks they are "the only game in town" so they take advantage. And, they may be right -- which is why they can get away with it. From our experience, most of the contractors out that way are either useless or are crooks, so Kruse may actually be better than most. Which is sad.

It was a great experience. Jessie, maintenance guy, called and asked to come out earlier than…read morescheduled which worked out great for me. Jessie was prompt and very thorough with system checks. Spent much longer than 20 minutes unlike the previous maintenance person from a different HVAC company. The cost was very reasonable even though i didn't use the fall or spring discounts. That's when i should have done it but be that as it may it was well worth the visit. He even checked to make sure the drain line was not clogged, again, something the previous maintenance person failed to do. I have a Carrier heat pump and CW HVAC services all brands which is a relief so you don't have to commit to the company that installed the system new. Great Job Jessie. Thanks for your expertise. Would highly recommend CW H&A.

I worked with Ben at Patriot Plumbing to redo a leaky Kinetico water softener…read more I am very happy with the high quality work by Ben and Patriot Plumbing. No more leaks and overpriced plastic parts that can only be replaced by the Kinetico dealer. I went with a 3M whole house water filter recommended by Ben, with all new copper plumbing and a new pressure regulator. I can change the water filter myself, which is recommended to do least once a year. I am confident of the new system and no longer worried about another Kinetico part failure. The 3M water filter recommended by Ben at Patriot Plumbing lead to immediate improvement in our water quality. No more chlorine taste or smell. This system uses a carbon block filter that works better for us than the water softener. I will use Patriot Plumbing again if and when needed.
