Using Katie's techniques and positive rewards in just 6 weeks Dolly is a different pup. She is inquisitive, playful and obedient. We were able to make all the arrangements online. The day I dropped him off we were greeted by a staff member named Joy. She is aptly named. She was a delightful woman, showing me the facility, and where my dog would be staying. She showed me where the cameras are so that the owner can look in the evening before she goes to bed to make sure all the dogs are OK. Each dog has his individual space where he spends the night. There is a group inside play area as well as several different fenced in areas outside where dogs can play separately or together. There is a man who lives on the property who is also available in case of emergency and works part time at the facility. When I came to pick my dog up the next day, he was happy and healthy! They said there were no issues, and we were all very happy with the experience.

My husband and I have been taking our pets here for about 15 years. It used to be a great place that we trusted, but we have seen this place change over time, and not in a positive way. It started when I took my hound Gunnar there when he was puppy. A vet tech asked if I ever had a dog named River. I answered no, I never did. She then proceeded to say "Yes, You did, I know your name, Stephanie Grant!" Then proceeded to berate me on things I supposedly did this dog named River who I had never heard of. (By the way, I know there is another person who shares my name who lives in my area, or at least used to. I only know this, because I received her sewer bill once in error) When She was done, I shrugged it off as an odd encounter, thinking it was someone having a mental health breakdown. My hound, Gunnar received all his care there from puppyhood to his last day. The last day, though, was the final straw for me. On Tuesday 1/13/2026 Gunnar's health suddenly deteriorated within hours, to the point where he was unable to walk. He was quite elderly by this point, and we had expected this. At over 90 pounds, he was a large dog in a great deal of pain. I asked if he could be possibly be euthanasized in our vehicle. Instead, I was curtly told that he needed to be brought inside for a "quality of life check-up" because it was over a year since he was seen. This made me feel like a neglectful pet owner, even though I was sure it hadn't been that long. Later on, I looked through my CareCredit receipts and saw that Gunnar had a wellness checkup on 1/17/25, so he had been seen, in fact LESS than a year. Since Gunnar was unable to walk, we had to put him on a stretcher and bring him inside, rather than taking our word for it. For us, it wasn't about the money at all, how we were treated or gaslit. Or, perhaps, the staff thought I was the other Stephanie Grant, I don't know. Have your vendetta all you want with me, (or whomever you think I am) but DO NOT take it out on my dying dog. It was about the unnesscary pain and discomfort Gunnar went through on his last day on Earth. For that, I will never forgive them. I'm kicking myself for not refusing and taking him to an emergency veterinarian instead who would have done the procedure at our vehicle. There's been a few things about this place that's rubbed me the wrong way, but I will never forget how we were treated. Gunnar deserved better than this.

I have been bringing my dogs to Meadowsweet for over fifteen years. I'd never bring them anywhere…read moreelse! I board my dogs there and also send my dogs to daycare. When they see their "dog bag" packed up they can't wait to get into the car. They come home tired and happy. They love it there. The facility is located on seven private acres far away from any busy streets. There are several large fenced in areas where they can play with their dog friends. There are no kennels inside but rather comfortable chairs and dog beds where all the dogs can relax. Like being home. Most important for me is how the staff treats my dogs as if they are their own. Very caring. Robin, the owner is so knowledgeable about dogs. She has helped me with my own dog's behavior. I trust her totally. Everyone at Meadowsweet communicates very well. I always know what's going on and feel my dogs are safe at Meadowsweet. You will not find a better place than Meadowsweet for your dogs.

As they are not too computer savvy I helped them fill out a lengthy application which was not a problem. They then asked for two adult non-related references (!) and then subjected the family to the most intrusive and rude boundry-overstepping that I have come across in a awhile. Never-ending emails over the course of a week criticizing the toys that they had for the hamster, telling them which food to buy, which bedding to buy, what room to keep him in...yes I am serious. If I could give zero stars I would. They ended up saying forget it and to not worry about it but really, I am upset that they were subjected to this by their adoption counselor (really a person who is fostering the animal) but more than that I feel sad for the animal/animals that could go to a loving home but instead will be stuck in foster care.

We wanted to focus on off-leash recall and build in other great pup practices more consistently (sit, stay, and place). I cannot speak highly enough about both Joshua and our pups' experience! We have a stubborn 8 year old who will not listen to anyone but me. Through trust-building and consistency, Oliver now knows that sit means sit / place means place no matter who is asking him. And we are able to take him for off-leash adventures with the comfort of knowing that he will reliably come when asked. It's the best feeling and he's so happy with this newfound autonomy! Then there's our wild child Willow. She's 3 years old and too smart and curious for her own good. Before, if she noticed that she was off-leash or made an escape from a fence, she would bolt - it was a game for her and she loves being chased. She needed the most support in not pulling when walking, impulse control (pesky squirrels), jumping on strangers, and recall. A lot to tackle but Joshua did this beautifully! We still have our sweet girl, but now she understands what's expected of her when meeting strangers (we sit and stay seated until released) and walks (heel, please). Since training, she's finally had the opportunity to swim (her favorite thing!) entirely off-leash and will reliably come when we ask. It makes us so happy to see her enjoy this freedom with us being able to ensure her safety. King K9 was hands down one of the best investments that we've made for our pups. Every time I try to write about how much I appreciate Josh's help with my dog Parker, I get…read moreemotional and dramatic because his quick response, professional advise and care for Parker's situation literally saved Parker's life. Josh is very responsive - I need some advise in an urgent situation and he answered my inquiry very quickly and within in a week came to my home to evaluate the situation. He provided solutions and follow up coaching with phone calls which to care of the short term emergency. Then we set up a plan to have Parker visit for a 6 week rehab. Josh spent time understanding my situation, what I needed for Parker, and came up with a plan. Now, I have a dog that doesnt bark or disturb the neighbors, I can walk in public, and I know how to help Parker make better decisions and be less reactive. Both Parker and I are so much happier and I am so very grateful to Josh for his help!!
