Everything here was amazing from start to finish. Valet service is complimentary. From being attended at the front to being seated, our waiter Cruz was AMAZING. He was so kind, very attentive & made sure everything was to our liking. I think the manager also came up & made sure everything was perfect for us & everything was up to par. Our food was delicious, everything was fresh. No complaints whatsoever. It's s very low-light indoor setting, they play music as well inside & have a bar! It's super cute inside & very picturesque! I would come back again & will recommend to my friends & family when they visit Cancun!
Ambiance is great whether you're inside or outside. The bread they give when you arrive is great too! Our cocktails were nice. The service lacked and I felt like we were ignored. We had tables arrive and be seated after us and they all left long before we did. At the end we spent $400USD for 2 adults and 2 kids. The oyster Rockefeller sucked! Tasted like old oysters. The tuna tostadas on the other hand were delicious! The kids fish and chips was also great! Fish tacos were a little dry and I felt like I had to dip them in the sauce to make it edible. My husband ordered the Mar Y Tierra platter with Ribeye. The Ribeye had great flavor but was tough in spots so not the best cut. The lobster and prawns were flavored well and cooked good. King crab was surprisingly good too for being in Mexico but the Octopus was so tough, they over cooked it. We had been there 2 hours and finally had to track a waiter down and ask for the check. The head manager did come out and give us a complimentary dessert & a ticket for a cocktail at another restaurant. That was nice but probably won't return to one of their restaurants. At the end for what we paid I felt it was good not great!

We had a table outside. The presentation was everything. I forgot what I ordered but I had the lobster with the rosotto and vegetables. We also had dessert - cheesecake which was big enough to serve 5-7 people lol. Valet was great! Highly recommend & I would definitely go back! The ambience was everything. Great service, view and delicious food. Restaurant is on the water which gives you a great sunset view. Lucky enough we got to see an alligator while sitting outside. Great vino listing but on the higher price range. Menu has a great variety of options. We tried the fish and coconut ceviche each had their own unique flavors. My favorite was the tempura tuna and it came with a yummy spicy sauce and was mouth watering. Salmon tacos were good as well. Dessert was the tsunami tiramisu which was presented in a unique style. It was yum. Service was exceptional, we were greeted by David at the front desk who was professional and friendly. Through out dinner the managers came and checked on us which made the dinning experience great. I would go back here again for sure!!
It turned out to be our best meal on our vacation to the hotel zone in Cancun. Lots of great choices within walking distance but from the JW this was the closest. Nice light and flavorful seafood selections with the usual perfect service here. It's always a team of servers and waiting never happens, no matter what you want. The king crab, lobster and more were all fresh and perfect. Not too crowded during the off season but still awesome, I'll always come back!
Another chain praying on tourists promising authentic food for a high price and subpar quality. I had the green rice with scallops. Presentation was nice but the scallops were fishy and definitely not fresh. When the manager came by to check on us I mentioned the quality and he would look into it but that's all. I wouldn't eat the food because I feared it was bad. Wife had the grilled octopus she enjoyed it. Shared a bottle of wine. Was a very cheap bottle overpriced but nothing new for restaurants to do. The tuna appetizer was good. Again not the freshest but fine. Won't come back, recommend many other places before this one.
Hands down the best dining experience I had while in Cancun. The interior is very clean, organized, with warm undertones and plenty of plants that provide a tropical ambience. There is a great view of the sunset at this restaurant, and the dj works hard to keep the chill party vibe going. The waiters were all extremely attentive and went out of their way to make suggestions from the menu, clear plates, and clean tables. Regarding the dishes, you'll want to try one of the ceviche appetizers. The shrimp ceviche came highly recommended. For main course, the grilled salmon and mojo shrimp are excellent. Be sure to skip the Italian part of the menu. If you are celebrating, they will provide some special services for you and your loved ones. End your meal with a choice of dessert (sorbet is great) and their complimentary coconut jellies. Cash or card is accepted. Gentlemen please note they have a dress code. You'll need to have a polo shirt, or they'll provide you one! (I got lucky, as the shirts were being washed when I arrived, so I could rock the tank top look) Enjoy!
Five stars! The dockside table looking out over the water was an amazing view for my party. The wait staff were extremely attentive, taking care of all of our needs and wants. Then we get to the food, i had the lobster tail which was huge but delicious, the others ordered the surf and turf and a different platter. So much food so delicious they even made an ice dessert to celebrate one of our groups divorce! Hilarious! I will be coming back next time i am in Cancun
Fred's was absolutely beautiful and was an amazing first stop as soon as we landed in Cancun. Everything on the menu looked amazing and the presentation of the meals was 10/10. The tacos are a MUST TRY! The staff were extremely accommodating and the drinks were fresh and sooo good. I loved it here and would definitely go back. Thanks to the manager for coming over and asking us if we enjoyed and thanking us for coming.
I could have made a reservation with Open Table but I wanted a seat on the patio so I called the restaurant. It was easy to book a time when I wanted during the Holiday week (12/21) and when we arrived earlier than our 7:30 PM reservation time they sat us right away. We had a beautiful 4-top for the 3 of us on the patio next to the railing. The music was a bit too loud for our conversation flow but not too bad since we were as far away from the many speakers as possible. The staff were very friendly and helpful, keeping a close eye on our table. We ordered mojitos all around and many small plates to share, including pulpo cruj tzatziki, calamares empanizado, tacos de pescado res, crepe cake, tacos de salmon, lobster quesadilla. All the dishes were tasty but my favorite were the salmon tacos! Overall tasty dishes, quality seafood, delicious drinks, and good service. Prices are on the higher end, especially if you're springing for the recommended dishes like lobster thermador.
I have a girl trip to Cancun for my birthday. To make it simple, here's the good things about the restaurant. Nice Mediterranean decor, good drinks and our servers was very nice. Until I ordered 6 clams. They came out surprisingly ridiculous. As you can see, they chopped the clams off into tiny pieces and left roughly like 3 tiny chunks per half shell. I got confused at first and ordered another 6 clams. The next order came out even less than the 1st order. I asked the server and he said the menu said 6 pieces not 6 whole clams. I asked him so what about oysters would you guys chop the oysters into small pieces too? They came back after talking to the manager and sent us another order for free. I want to make it clear that I totally understand the service has nothing to do with the kitchen and I dont blame my server for this. But I have had this type of clams several times before, you can look into my photos back in Cabos San Lucas, and see how they served it. I think this is very dishonest. I dont mind if they charge me $5-$10 per clam but make sure you serve what you said on the menu. Don't underestimate the guests especially when this is a fancy place and the prices are not cheap. You can't just cut up 1 clam and serve on 6 pieces of shells and make us pay for 6 clams. Im not a type of person who complains about things just to get free food, but this is disappointed. read more

Beautiful restaurant with high quality service. Everyone there was friendly, accommodating and efficient. The food was great and so was the presentation. The only thing we didn't like was the crepe cake - there wasn't much flavor and it was on the dry side. We ended up getting tiramisu instead, and we were very pleased with it, it was delicious! Excellent service! Beautiful ambience, sit outside if you can. The cool breeze and watching the sun go down while you have dinner is a bonus! Wife had the lobster and said it was cooked well and delicious. I had the shrimp cocktail, and Coconut shrimp, it was very good. The Tiramisu was some of the best I've ever had. Our cocktails were refreshing and not to overwhelming. read more

Best ceviche ever- made at the table and loaded with flavors and textures. The seafood risotto was delicious and and even the more mundane fish and chips was wonderful. We were greeted warmly and service was attentive but not intrusive. This was our second visit, and it's on our list for our next trip. read more

The first time we dined here it was 5 stars. Amazing portions, amazing service, amazing food. The second time, it was extremely disappointing. I ordered the king crab, and all they gave us was one extremely tiny crab leg cut in half. Literally, probably 1/10th of a pound of crab For 1300 pesos! They should be ashamed of providing such a small portion. The servers were also much less friendly than the ones we had Friday. It's too bad they flipped a complete 180 on us and lost our recommendation. read more

I am so glad I came here, because I usually go to my favorite restaurant, which is Taboo Mediterranean Restaurant, but this now has become my favorite restaurant.....on the hotel zone! When I reserved my reservation, I kept sending them messages, asking if I could reserve a villa, but I did not get a response....so when I showed up, they were so gracious enough to let me eat within a villa, because at the time it was not that busy. I believe normally to get a villa you have to have a certain amount of people in your group and/or maybe spend a certain amount of money (alcohol) and I was solo. To me, the prices were decent. I know some people said pricey on the reviews, but I felt it was ok. The presentation was nice and the food tasted really good! I wasn't sure if I wanted to get the lobster mac, or the salmon dish and my server recommended the salmon dish....which it tasted so well seasoned!!! The place is very beautiful, everyone was so nice and friendly and rushed to serve me. Christopher, the Mgr made it happen for me to sit in the villa, so thank you Chris!!!!! We came to Fred's in Cancun while on a trip to celebrate my daughter and her friend's graduation from high school. Fred's takes such good care of their guest. They brought us complimentary treats from the chef and every bite of food was delectable! You won't find a better ambiance, as Fred's is on the lagoon and you can watch the sunset while enjoying your beautiful dinner which is as pretty as it is tasty. I would highly recommend to all who want to get off resort for a meal. This was my second visit, and I tried the scallops, the lobster Mac, the Caribbean chicken and the ribeye - as the table ordered and shared. The apps were guac and calamari and both were great! Do this if you are a foodie in Cancun! read more

We were staying at the JW Marriott and found this nice gem of a restaurant across the street. Easy walk. The first night we sat outside on the water. The view was spectacular. Daniel & Roger were our waiters. Both made the experience extremely positive and relaxing. We ordered the Grilled Seafood platter for 2. Everything was great. Plenty of food for the both of us. The fish and King Crab stood out the most. Also ask for the Spicy Cucumber Margarita! Absolutely amazing. The next visit 2 nights later we sat at the bar. We saw a dish that someone at the bar had ordered. Looked amazing. I guess it was obvious that we liked what we saw. It was the manager eating this delicious looking dish. He sent one over to the table. It was Carnitas Tacos. This was one of the tastiest tacos I've ever had. It was plain and simple yet perfect!!! The Bartender Israel was perfect. He made sure I never ran out of my Margarita! This is gonna sound funny: try the naked potato! It was extremely good. read more

Excellent service and food. We had some delicious bread that was served as a starter that set the tone for the meal. We were a party of 14 so we got to try a lot of different things. Our only complaint was that we were not asked how the meat in the burger should be prepared. But all the food was delicious. We sat outside and really enjoyed the view of the lagoon and the sunset. read more

This place was great. Ambiance, food, service.... I did not have one complaint, except that they included a 15% gratuity and I had to tell them to raise it... I would have probably give more if not on the spot after 4 glasses of wine... either way it was a great break from resort food and a must do while In Cancun read more

We had an amazing time at Fred's House. We didn't made reservation but was seated immediately. It was relatively slow not much customers, probably because it was a Sunday evening. We opt to be seated outside and the view was amazing. Food: I ordered catch of the day and asparagus. My boo thing got lobster and steak with mashed potatoes. Overall the food was good. Asparagus was a little crunchy could have cooked a little longer read more

Came to Fred's while visiting Cancun for the weekend. We were incredibly hungry, so we ordered mountains of food. We got lobster tacos, which came with a fantastic source, a Mojito Fred's which was delicious and light and came with sugar cane in it! We ordered creamed spinach as a side, and while it was good, it was much too large. The highlights of the meal: Rockefeller oysters served Mexican style (with a bit of hot sauce, lime, and salt) Tequila shrimp which is cooked in front of you, and scallop risotto which was tasty and well portioned. Plus we had a fantastic view, and I enjoyed the experience. read more

Upscale but comfortable serving fresh seafood with a great view of the bay, We had just participated in the Jungle Tour next door and Freds happend to be open for lunch. I had a piece of fresh grouper char grilled that was wonderful. We started with some of the best ceveche I have ever had. The service was great and the prices what you expect for this quality. I highly recommend Freds if you are looking for something alittle upscale while in Cancun. read more

This was by the far one of the best restaurant experiences I have ever had. The servers were great and very tentative! The drinks were amazing and so refreshing. Everyone was so friendly and you can tell they really care about their service here. On top of the that, the patio views are outrageous! Right on the water. MUST COME HERE! DO IT!! Food is roughly $10-25 US DOLLARS depending what you get! Make the trip here!! read more

DELICIOSO! We were treated like royalty! My partner has been anxiously waiting to check this place out with me (he overnights a lot in Cancun and found it to nice to walk in alone). There were thunderstorms on our last night, we decided on a romantic dinner. I, looking for anything seafood decided this restaurant was perfect to finish strong on our super romantic getaway. I was so happy we decided to dine with them that night. It was conveniently located across the street from our hotel (the Marriott... I reviewed our stay too), we could have easily walked but we "splurged" on a taxi... Food was spectacular. I'm not gonna give details as to how amazing it all tasted, I'll spare you. I'll post pictures instead and tell you that you will not be disappointed. Service, flavor, ambiance and the Mexican famous hospitality... all there! We sat at the bar as we waited for our table (Paula was our bartender; she's originally from Mexico City, but speaks English) and ordered one drink each while waiting. Once seated we got the octopus appetizer, we tried their shrimp broth paired with a fish dip and tostadas. He ordered the tuna tartar and a lobster, with a side of veggies. Of course booze at hand... I highly recommend the Jamaica martini THE ONLY COMPLAINT was that my Jamaica garnish was soggy. They were so gracious to us that we received a "rompope raspado" dessert with parting tequila shots. Hands down one of the best restaurants I've ever dined at. My husband and I came here for our honeymoon and it was our one month anniversary and Fred's made it so special. Claudia and Jorge are the BEST! The manager is so kind and attentive as well. Definitely a must have if in Cancun. They brought us complimentary desserts for our honeymoon and completely surpised us! read more
