Most of the big corporate companies gave us inflated quotes and made us feel like just another job number. A few months later there where signs of Algae, and I was told this is normal at this time of the year and a special treatment is necessary that would cost me hundreds of dollars. The straight up lies and being treated like an idiot are unbelievable. If your chemistry is done right, there will never be an algae build up and no special treatment is necessary. I have since then hired a professional company and I realize I had forgotten how gorgeous the water can look like.

He worked hard for a couple of hours doing all this, and he showed me a few things so I could take better care of our pool myself. By the way, my pool cleaner had told me I needed our 6-month old filters REPLACED for upwards of $800.
