We first started with Fred in 1979 and we're still with him. We recently had a slab leak and the team they had on our job handled it efficiently and at an extremely reasonable cost given a slab leak can easily run up cost to repair. When they were finished, after having to pull up the carpet and padding, cutting the concrete slab, digging down to the leak, they left everything spotless, you would not have even known they were there. Our condo building called this company to diagnose a problem on a Saturday afternoon. We were informed it would be an overtime charge and assumed it would be about 1.5x the normal rate (or perhaps a bit more or less). We were shocked to receive a bill for $450 for a 1-hour service visit (just to diagnose the issue - not even fix anything). They charged us 3x their normal rate which was quite shocking. (This wasn't a holiday like New Year's eve or Christmas- just a normal Saturday). We did reach out and try to come to a resolution in this matter prior to leaving this review, but they were unwilling to reduce their price even $1. I can't speak to their technical abilities as plumbers (I will assume they are good), but from a customer service perspective we were disappointed (especially as we are looking for a long-term plumber we could use going forward). A horrible experience with this company. Scheduled an appointment for an in-home consultation for installing an automatic water shut-off valve and a few small jobs like drain cleaning and toilet valve replacement. The guy named David /Dave came late, took a bunch of pictures, and left in a hurry without cleaning the drain or changing the valve. He promised to give me an estimate within a day or two, but said the ballpark price for the device will be $3k-$4k. Three weeks passed and no response. I called back and the person on the phone said they will definitely get back to me tomorrow. I still didn't hear anything back from them. However, I am so glad they didn't get back to me as the most expensive water shut-off valve at Home Depot only costs $800. read more

Horrible customer service. I have a one way valve and live on the first floor. The problem is always in the garage -- been dealing with it the last 30 years. They have to come and snake the pipes from the apartment above because of my one-way valve, but insist that I hang around just in case. Last time, they didn't even come in and I lost a day of work. My condo association has a contract with them unfortunately, but if you have a choice, give your money to someone decent, who is trustworthy and polite. Fred Morrow Plumbing to the rescue again. I have used Fred's company a number of times over the years. This time it was a cracked drain line from the kitchen leaking into my crawlspace. Every company is overwhelmed right now with staffing and equipment difficulties and it I had to make an appointment for two days hence, but Fred personally called me when they had a cancellation and the plumber was able to come 4-5 hours earlier than expected today. WOWZERS. Did not even get "that" far. Wanted a quote to install a home water heater. Spoke to a woman who was literally almost falling asleep and seemed as though she was making it up as she went along. She supposed the job would be about three hours work at their labor rate - $390.00 an hour - for one guy (he obviously has no trouble lifting a 185 pound water heater by himself. Also asked what brand - what difference does it make? Also said if another guy was needed that the price would change. She quoted me an approximate price plus whatever parts they needed. WHAT? Not knowing what it would cost in full upfront, ABSURD! What kind of quote is that? They should have an estimate based on facts, like an onsite visit to properly quote the job. Fred has been our plumber for 13 years, and I am so grateful to have his advice, recommendations, and work. Yesterday we had a new kitchen faucet installed -- a model Fred recommended and which I absolutely love. We also had the pressure regulator replaced. My old kitchen faucet was leaking; a bad regulator could have caused very expensive repairs -- which have now been averted! They don't automatically recommend new equipment -- they could have fixed my old faucet, but I really wanted a new one. In the past we've had new toilets and sewer lines flushed. My family has done business with Fred Morrow Plumbing for something like 25-30 years! Yesterday I called the office with some questions." Notable, why wasn't the leak repaired? Today when I returned Fred's call to me and he was VERY rude and hung up on me without letting me even get in a word! I had just had a very unsettling experience a couple of days earlier with one of his guys. I called about a very bad leak. They were to come 5 days earlier but THEY had to reschedule. I understood that, jobs can run overtime. The day they were rescheduled to come the window was between 11-1. Their guy didn't show up until 3:15! When he wasn't here by 1, I called the office. was told that he said he could get here by 1:45!! When he got here he really didn' want to come inside. In fact, he really just wanted to leave it seemed like! I understand the fear of the virus etc but the leak was most likely in a bathroom. The guy finally came in and after I pointed out where I thought the leak was he took one quick look and said that is what is leaking. He asked if I wanted him to turn the water off. After I said yes he then proceeded to leave WITHOUT fixing the leak!! I had to keep after him to check a couple of other things on his way out because he kept trying to leave, from the time he got here. I wanted him to check the pipes under the house but he refused at least twice! He said that wasn't where the leak was so he didn't need to. Said he had another job to get to! After being here no more than 20 minutes tops he then handed me a bill for $115!! The guy essentially did next to nothing but apparently they charge for a minimum of one hour whether any repair work is done or not. Fred (the owner) called me this morning and when I returned his call he wouldn't let me say anything - he said they don't do discounts. I told him that I never asked for a discount! He then went into telling me to "stop calling us" and "Don't call us anymore!" When I asked why he hung up on me'!! I called back and Fred answered and again he repeated the "don't call us" lines! He then hung up on me AGAIN!! He refused to tell me why he was refusing my business! Apparently his people told him things that were either not true or misunderstood by them and he choose to believe his employees, which is his right. He should have at least heard my side of things! I spoke to a friend of mine who also used Fred Morrow plumbing and she too had had problems with them! They used to be a reliable company but in my experience and hers not anymore! P.S. About 2 1/2 years ago when Fred came out to give an estimate on repipe job all we got was a complaint that the crawl space was too small (it's standard sized) and then Fred proceeded to suggest we sell the house and it was not worth the effort to repipe! Although they do do repipe he made it clear he really didn't want the job so they didn't do the job! Fred's job is not to come and insult someone's house! He clearly didn't care if he lost our business then! And now he pointedly has said that he doesn't want our business! Being rude and insulting, THAT IS DEFINITELY NOT GOOD BUSINESS! read more

Unfortunately when the plumber came, he told me he should have had a box for the wall. He said he was not told to bring it me. I was able to get a same day appointment when my elderly parents toilet broke. Tony and his assistant showed up exactly on time. Tony called me 30 minutes before arrival so I could meet him there. He was able to fix the toilet by cleaning a clogged line that was keeping the tank from refilling after flushing. No additional parts needed replacement, although if they had, I was told they carry most of the Kohler parts with them on the truck. I asked if the toilet was in good condition. He said yes, no other parts should need replacing in the near future. I forgot to mention to him that the toilet seat was loose. However, he caught it and took care of it on his own. His assistant was also really good. While Tony worked on the toilet, he replaced a water filter under the kitchen sink which I neglected to mention when I scheduled the service call. I was surprised to find out that they carried that part on the truck as well and could replace it immediately. They must have been there no more than 20 or 30 minutes. We were charged only the cost of the water filter and the service charge. I was extremely pleased with the professionalism, promptness, and efficiency from every one I dealt with beginning with the initial call requesting service, to the completion of the service call. Needless to say, I will be calling Fred Morrow Plumbing again when I need help in the future. read more

We asked our neighbors for a recommendation for a plumber (Thank you Kerns fam!) I called Fred Morrow Plumbing on a Friday afternoon since our tub and toilet were having drainage issues - a perfect storm at 7 months pregnant with out of town guests who were here for my baby shower the next day.... The person on the phone tried to save us from paying the weekend rate by telling me that we could wait until Monday by taking quick showers, but with everything happening we needed everything working ASAP, but they couldn't get anybody out until Saturday. At that point, we decided that a weekend appointment was needed and paying extra was worth it. Dave showed up at our door, a little bit ahead of schedule. Worked for about an hour, was very kind and polite. Explained everything that was happening, and all the different things he was looking for and what the potential issues would be. He did all the work, cleaned up after himself, and left everything working after double and triple checking everything. My hero. On top of everything, he ended up not charging us a weekend fee, just the normal rate. Maybe it was pregnancy hormones, maybe it was just gratitude, but after he left I bawled for about 15 minutes. There are good people in this world!!! So hard to find in the home repair industry, we've been screwed so, so, so many times in the past. THANK YOU DAVE!!!! Fred and his team were referred to us by my in-laws, who have used his plumbing service for over twenty years. We've been using them for over a decade. Not once have we been dissapointed by his office staff or employees. Clogged showers, sinks, washing machine drains, etc have been handled quickly and professionally by good, knowledgable plumbers, even when there is an emergency on a Sunday. Fred personally saved me hundreds of dollars several years ago by explaining to me why a home warranty plumber was overcharging me and how Fred's guys could do the job faster, cheaper and more effectively.
