I have been shopping a this store for going on 30 years. On Sunday I was there in the spice aisle close to the checkout counters. A very young man came up to me and in a creepy obnoxious way kept trying to get me tell me his name and give him my phone number. Now, i'm old enough to be his mother, this was not a normal lonely guy looking for a date in the grocery store, it was much creepier, I felt threatened. I kept trying to get the attention of the cashier closest to me, no luck. Finally got away from him blocking me and talked to the cashier about it. She asked me if I wanted her to call security and I said yes. She called Security and apparently they were too busy so she called the store manager. Apparently he was too busy to come talk to me too. Nothing else i could do, sort of hoping someone could walk me to my car. I filled out a customer survey and the store manager just called me, it's WEDNESDAY. This happened on Sunday. His response was 'Oh, I never got a call on Sunday about this, do you know who the cashier was?" basically pushing the blame to her. Nice store but bakery department was not helpful. We wanted to buy a cake off the shelf and have Happy Birthday written on it but guy behind the counter said someone else did it and when she was done with a customer she'd help us. When she was done with the customer she headed to the back room only to return with her coat on. We asked if she was the one who could do the cake, she looked at the guy we first talked to and he again said he didn't know how. She said something about what did he do when he closed? She was headed out, no doubt about that! We left but very disappointed we could not get a personalized cake for our granddaughter we had traveled from Wisconsin to be here on her birthday. read more

I enjoy going to this Fred Meyer. However, I don't agree with people putting there dogs in shopping carts. It's unsanitary.

Fred Meyers isn't really a place i like to go to often for various reasons but when i do, this is the only location around & it's not in a pretty part of town. Like any Fred Meyers you'll ever go to, they're huge! Their stock is incredible & you can find just about anything here (well anything you need, i didn't say you'll specifically find what you want). Food, toys, bedding, clothing, you name it. Their deli, food isles, any isle in general is a decent size. They even have a organic section which threw me off because it's located in a really bizarre place next to the deli & produce. The layout for this location is almost the same as others but the clothing is on one side, then you have the food in the middle and lastly you got everything else at the other end. And of course home entertainment is right in the front by the checkout lanes. They don't have a wide range of items in home/toys/gardening but when it comes to food they got a huge selection. That i like. They got my special tea here, they have my favorite chips. I'll give them credit for that. Since Kroger owns both Fred & QFC, you can use your advantage card here & QFC coupons but like any Fred or QFC location, prices are HIGH. As of late there have been a ton of items on sale but knowing Kroger they might change that. This is the reason i don't shop here. Prices can be ridiculously high & have been known to lie about their prices being "on sale" when their prices never changed for the item that is now being listed as "on sale". You'll either notice this or you won't. They're tricky like that. The only thing i get here is essentials and food. That's it. Location is crummy. The building and lot is a nice place but if you look right next door, there is a apartment complex and their wall that separates them from Fred Meyers has graffiti all over it. No one bothers to clean it because kids will go right back & tag it again. Also the lot itself doesn't have any worth while shops either so when coming out to this location, it's either "You'll find it at Fred Meyers" or you won't because you'll have to travel a ways to get to target or bestbuy for your items. Last thing, this is a CROWDED location! Even when you think slow hours are empty, they get a ton of people. It's non stop. Go in early, tons of people. Go in late, still people there. Go in right at rush hour....you'll hate it. So my recommendation is to be prepared. Overall i don't like or dislike Fred Meyers, it's simply OK but is not my to go to store because of location and prices and crowds can be an issue. read more

Whoever designed this Fred Meyer is a complete idiot! It is always very difficult to get from one aisle to another. I have anxiety attacks everytime I am there. The rest of the store is totally fine. The grocery section just really sucks. If you want some free entertainment though just go to this Fred Meyer and people watch while you shop. I heard a little boy hollering at his mom to "Look at the boobies, Mom" when shopping near the lingerie section. Then about 10 seconds later says "Mom, I just farted in my pants." Don't know much about Fred Meyer except that they are a huge store and that they sell cheap gas ( the cheapest I saw in the area). The latter was my impetus for stopping. I did however find that I needed to make a stop at the store to get my savings card in order to get the best price at the pump. After the brief visit at the friendly customer service booth in the store, I headed out to get my gas. Good quick service and cheap gas gets Fred Meyer 4 stars! read more

I like Fred Meyer. Best chain in Washington State but they seriously need to have more hand baskets available at this location. Not everyone wants to push a cart around. I like to get in and out as soon as possible. I hope the local management reads this and takes this into account. Besides that one thing the store is really good. read more

This is my usual shopping location now that Top Foods produce has gone downhill. It was always decent, but today I made it home without my laundry detergent and when I called them to see if I had left it there the customer service person on the phone was super nice and helpful and said it would be totally fine if I waited until tomorrow to come back and pick it up. These guys have definitely put a focus on getting you through fast. Multiple cashiers open at all times. I have to say I am glad I never need to go to customer service though. Usually about 5-15 people in line whenever I go and they all appear to be degenerate scumbags. This place is always overcrowded with people. The main entry of the store is usuually dirty and they are normally short of carts. Parking can be a nightmare and I always come close to hitting someone walking to or from the store. The only reason I gave it a one star is because the check out people are usually fast and friendly. They need another store in this area but I doubt they will build one because of the cost of doing business in King County. For now I shop there because my Mom likes it but I never look forward to going to this Fred Meyers. read more

I want to thank the man in the meat department, i had to buy a whole ham that needed to be cut up in very small cubes, the gentlemen could see we could not find a large enough package for what I needed it for and cubed up that whole ham for me. I have been shopping at this Fred Meyer for over 20 years and in the past year my experience at this location has taken a nose dive. First and foremost they are in the middle of a hamfisted remodel where they decided to move the entire store during business hours and this reorganization has been going on for months at this point with no end in sight. I honestly find it hard to believe that the changes that they are making could not be done outside of business hours or at least at non peak times. To me it seems like corporate is forcing the stores to use union contractors and because of this they are making these changes during business hours to avoid overtime or paying for offpeak hours. These decisions have obviously been made at the corporate level and the mangers are hamstrung. This has impacted the location of everything in the store, the meat counter has been closed for going on 3 days, and the additional self checkout lanes have honestly slowed things down because you have elderly people who do not know how to use them but are being funneled into them anyway. And by far the worst thing is the fact that you have to bring your own cart/handbasket into the store to shop because they are all located in the parking lot! This is either a management or employee issue, but it has been made apparent that they have a high turnover problem due to the fact that every weekend they are hosting a hiring event. This leads me to believe that this store operates under extremely poor management and maybe they need to re-evaluate these postions. If i could I would shop elsewhere but this is the closest store to me so im stuck with this store. Fred Meyer would be rolling in his grave read more

The old FM at this location was really run down, not kept up, service could be spotty. The new store has really stepped up its game! Store is consistently clean, well stocked, good prices. I have to admit this store is operated so much better than the local Des Moines Safeway. Well done. read more

The store has just gone down hill. They do not carry the same brans they once did and the employees look like they are at a funeral. No one smiles and questions are answered with short responses as if they have much better things to do. Time for a change on the store I shop at for food. My favorite FM to shop at in all of Federal Way/Kent/Auburn area due to their friendly customer service. The store is always stocked with fresh, affordable items. Add to that the spectacular sales. The bakery department has, by far, the best presentation of beautifully decorated cupcakes and cakes. Plus outstanding service :) read more

First of all, back in '09 or '10 I applied for a job here and had the luxury of being interviewed by an immature, unprofessional woman who worked HR. The interview was the biggest joke I've ever had to endure. It was clear she wasn't taking it serious, and the icing on the cake was she had me greet customers at the door garnering me plenty of odd looks as I'm clearly not an employee yet. I look over and she is laughing at the different reactions. She told me the food manager would call me for a second interview - I never got a call, nor did I want one after this horrible experience. I stopped shopping here for awhile afterwards, only recently have I decided to give it a shot. Maybe things are less of a high school now. Wrong. I encountered even more issues. I went to pick up my prescription at their pharmacy(which by the way is overpriced) and the lady told me my prescription unfortunately was not ready yet, and that the automated message is wrong sometimes. Then let me speak to a freaking person then instead of a robot! The sales aren't even worth it because they hike the price up on certain core items, like a 5lb bag of jasmine rice is $10+ whereas at Winco it's about 5 bucks. My advice is 1) fire the HR manager if she is still working there. 2) The pharmacy needs to get their act together especially since some people require their medicine to LIVE and 3) Get more competitive prices. Really like the new Seafood manager he is Italian and helps with recipe ideas and cooking tips! Love the convenience of the store it's on my way home and parking is never an issue. read more

With the holiday season coming around and Christmas almost here. We thought let's stop by Fred Meyers to finish up two more presents that we still need to purchase. We always shop at this location and never had a problem. Most of the employees are always helpful. As we were parking we noticed a car in the parking lot and then a window shattering come to find out it was a theft in progress and the car sped away. As we went to notify the customer service so they can notify the loss prevention to do something regarding the matter, the customer service rep advised us after speaking to someone on the phone that they can't do anything about it. not even go out and look at the car that the incident happened which was on their property nor to to get the license plate to intercom the customers shopping in their retail store. They basically told us the consumer that they do not protect their customers. As good Samaritans we got the plate had the rep intercom the owner and called the police. After speaking to the manager on duty he basically gave us the run around and kept telling us that the loss prevention was "probably" out there,but we know for a good fact they were not as we were outside on the phone informing the police of what just happened. I was so turned off with how they reacted to keeping their customers safety a priority, that we decided that how can we support this business when they really don't care what happens when you are in their store or in their lot?? I did advise the manager they need a better set up to handle situations like this if it was my car i would hope someone would do the same for us. You think a corporation big as this would care about their consumers,but i guess its just about the money. Sad to say.... read more

We always shop here for groceries. It's great for food and everything like that. BUT we came here to get Dutch Boy paint for our son's nursery, and had a terrible experience. We got 2 gallons of light brown paint and were at first satisfied. But it didn't cover some places and there were streaks so we went to get one more gallon of paint. We brought the paint swatch in and one of the other gallons we had used. The young worker at the paint desk made another gallon for us. The sticker on the top had the right color name on it and everything was fine. We thought. Long story short, when the new gallon of paint dried on our wall it was the wrong color!! My husband thought it would dry lighter so he kept painting with it and, well, it was DARK brown in the end and not light brown.. We came back to Fred Meyer and told them our situation and they WOULD NOT give us any free paint in our original color. They took an hour and discussed everything and in the end offered us one free gallon of paint. We had to buy the other 2 gallons because we were scared none of the colors on our wall would match. TERRIBLE customer service and do not buy paint here ever!!! read more

Fred Meyer you are the Grinch this year! I shop EVERY WEEKEND at your store. Friday I came in to get final Christmas needs and gifts. Trying to make it as fun as possible, I noted I heard no Christmas music, no happy employees and hardly anything left for Christmas shopping!!!!!! Im literally fighting a "construction crew " of FM employees taking down shelving and making piles of candy, wrapping paper and other Christmas NEEDS. SERIOUSLY?!?!?!?! Some of us customers don't have $$ until now or haven't had time to shop yet. All I wanted to do was get out of there!! So disappointing! What's your hurry?? Got to get those Valentines candy on the shelves??? It's so rude to have your day crew tearing stuff down when CUSTOMERS are trying to shop. That is a night crew job. Their produce is nice and fresh, but lately the green onions look damaged with cut stems or wilting, and the last 2 or 3 trips the organic green bell peppers are in much better shape than the regular green bell peppers. This last trip, neither the organic nor the regular green peppers looked decent enough to buy - I actually found a better specimen at super WalMart. They also seem to run out of lettuce regularly at certain times of day on weekends. Cashiers apparently are completely untrained in bagging, or else don't care about their job. The only thing they seem to get right about bagging is putting bananas and bread on top - nobody ever taught them green onions are fragile and easily bruised. I have often noticed they will bag cleaning products with edibles - including produce. Most will cop an attitude if any special bagging requests are made. On the positive side, they have a wide selection of merchandise, and they don't deliberately understaff their cash registers unlike WalMart. There is a Starbucks stand in store, a jewelry section, an electronics section, but they do not offer handsliced deli meats. Their sushi is usually fresh (watch out for markdowns): I usually only find better at a specialty sushi restaurant. They also now offer a curbside pickup service for online shoppers, but since I usually shop primarily for produce here, I prefer to pick out my own quality produce myself. read more

i think all of you that use fred meyer fuel stops... to know: i found out the hard way of how "your" money is held by these fuel stations.....while was filling my gas tank and i used my credit card........i got an instant text from my credit card co that a charge of $160.00 (from the very fuel stop i was using) was charged on my card. i got online and saw the charge on my card. ...the credit card co did not know how it got there...i called the store manager who said the only charge he sees in their computer was the $24.25 amount for the gas i just bought....said he had no idea where the $160 came from.....i called the corporate office and a rep told me it is their practice to charge up to $200.00 as a "hold" on credit or debit cards when gas is purchased. they can hold it 1 - 2 days until the gas bill is paid. i stated they should at least post it at the pump prior to us customers buying gas with a credit card....and that if i would have been told by the store manager what the charge was...it would have stopped me from cancelling out my credit card.....and stopped me from thinking my account was compromised.......the corporate rep just said it is "a common practice" with gas stations.....i told her that it was an awful way to do business as it seems they hold potentially millions of dollars in an account ..(.i guess to make interest income from it) ...without any of us knowing it is being done.......this note is to make you all aware...... read more
