Janet, Michelle, and Brandie are unprofessional, disrespectful, and inconsiderate of customers time, money, and experiences at Fred meyer. I was charged money for groceries despite staff not allowing me to take the groceries home due to the self check out machine malfunctioning, these 3 individuals could not figure out what went wrong, and were not willing to refund the money when they took the items back. After wasting weeks with these illiterate degenerates, I finally got to speak with a real manager (Brandie lied saying she was the manager) by the name of Justin. He does not pay attention when conversing with customers. He told me to bring in proof of charge for a complete refund, I asked if he would prefer a print out of my debit transactions or a photo of the details of the specific transaction that I wanted refunded from my mobile app, he said the photo was unacceptable so I brought in a printed transaction history. When I came in, I told him I will not give it to them until I cut out unnecessary information like my bank account number and other transactions. I asked for scissors, he then took my print out from my hands, gave it to Brandie, and said I would get a refund. I removed the print out from Brandie's hands immediately, grabbed a pair of scissors by the register, and cut out all personal information. I then gave it to Brandie and finally received my money that I was owed. But before leaving Justin asked for a photo of the transaction details from my mobile app. Before shopping here, consider that you are walking into a store where the employees are paid to be disrespectful, very unfocused, and combative when you discover they make mistakes or do bad things on purpose like lie. I have been a loyal FM shopper for almost 20 years. Use to love this store and rave about it to out of town friends. But lately it seems to have lost it's appeal. And last week I need to consider finding another place to shop. Unfortunately I was injured in the store while checking out. The checker immediately asked if I was OK which I said, no. She then called for a manager and other staff. They took a report, offered medical assistance if I needed to which I declined as I had an appointment with my doctor and really wanted to get out of the store and sit down. I was told by Tracy the manager she would call me that evening or the next day to check on me and see if I needed anything. NEVER got a call and when I went to Urgent care the next day as I woke up in pain, I called the store. Was told Tracy was off. Left a message for her to call me as I need to know where the bills should go. Still waiting and it's been 5 days. read more

Ever since they were going to merge with Albertsons the quality of products and services went down the hill even though the merger didn't go through. I sent my caregiver there because I wanted her to purchase a prime rib they had on sale for 5.47 lb. I had to have her spend $50.00 or more to qualify for it. The where out of them and offered her a roast for $89.00 and told her it was only until supplies last. It had been less than 2 1/2 days since the add came out. They are really taking advantage of people and I think I should sue them because they couldn't have had very many of them if they were already out. My son told me he got one at Safeway for 4.99 lb but you have to spend $50.00 to get it. Since I spent my money at Fred Meyer, I no longer have $50.00 left to spend. I'm a senior citizen with a very low income. It's a shame they take advantage of people like that. read more

This store is a complete disaster as of this writing! Without a word of warning or signs of explanation, they have decided to remodel the store during store hours. There is hydraulic equipment everywhere and when it's operating you can't talk to anyone. Air hammers make a lot of noise. They were tearing down ceiling panels over the fish dept. today. Have you ever seen what cr** is hiding in ceilings and can end up on the food? They have moved goods around the store and it can take 15 minutes to find them. If that is, you can navigate around the many islands of products, which often block access to the shelves behind them. There are various items "on sale" now. You save all of 20c on many of them. So generous, after they raised the price 25-35c by their previous profiteering. Kroger is trying to buy other large stores in Oregon. If that happens, there will be a total monopoly here. There are never enough shopping carts. I almost forgot to mention that they are building a new gas station and have fenced off a huge portion of the parking lot. Avoid at all costs, and go down the road to Albertson's. This store should have been closed during remodeling, but that would put a wrinkle in Kroger's greed. Go ahead and file a complaint online. Grants Pass location recently featured Hatch Chilies, at $1.49 a pound. Great price, however, it was the worst Hatch Chilies I have seen for sale anywhere this year. Shriveled up, some rotting. Way past their prime. Not a value at any price. They had these last year at full price, same situation,. I had heard of Fred Meyer, but did not know anything about it as I from Northern California. The travel agency chose to stop here so that the entire tour group could both get lunch and buy things for the next day as we were headed for Mt. Rainier. My mouth literally dropped on when I walked into the doors and saw how large this store was. It looks like a Walmart supercenter. From the map, the floor plan looked very organized. My parents and I only visited both the deli and the Starbucks as we were only given a total of one hour. My folks and I will definitely shop at another of their many locations the next time that we visit either Oregon or Washington. read more

This place just knocked my socks off! In a great way. I'm new to the area, just moved here, and I've never been inside a Fred Meyer store before. I know good prices, as I am a total bargain hunter and frugal shopper. I shop a variety of stores and buy usually whats on sale each week, which works out great. This place is fantastic! Super huge, and loaded with absolutely everything, including great, great deals! They had a fantastic deli, bakery, sushi area, Starbucks, great fish and meat departments. I could go on. In addition they have a home goods section, so a lot like Walmart or Target. I just did my grocery shopping today and I was really pleased with what I got. The checkout girl was also very friendly. Fred Meyers charges $3.50 for cash back. Wow! My purchase was $6.00 and some change. Cash back was $120.00. $3.50 was half of my I paid for what I bought. This messgae is to Fred Meyers, not the cashier who helped me. He was just doing his job and did a great job helping me. A 0.50 cent debit fee for cash back is more reasonable than $3.50. I went to the quick check out and purchase all of my grocery paid ready to leave. When leaving the buzzer went off so I stop and waited and waited for the checker and he could not keep up the buzzer keep going off and was asking for help and no one was their to help him the entire time my buzzer was going off on my things and he never came over to help me. I finally left and went over to the return counter and waited for checker again 5 people ahead of me on one man was waiting for a supervisor to come over. The gentleman told the checker to help all of us. I ended up returning everything. I was so frustrated I just wanted out. When I left the gentleman was still waiting foe supervisor. This store is DIRTY. They aren't only not following COVID protocol they aren't following regular protocol. The bathrooms are filthy by non COVID standards. The employees and managers just sign off the cleaning schedule without doing anything. It's disgusting for customers but horrid employees must use that filth during their work shift. The trash inside the stall was over following in both working stalls last night, 45 minutes before closing. I came in shortly after opening today and the female bathroom stalls were in EXACTLY the same condition, not one thing was different. It's completely unhygienic not to mention just plain gross. I guess the paper towel dispenser hasn't worked in the male or female bathroom for 2 months because the entire roll of paper towels is just sitting on the counter. This is far different from the clean, pristine bathrooms in Fred Meyer, Brookings location. read more

This is kind of like a K mart and a WalMart and supermarket deli all rolled into one. The inside of the store was clean and organized but there were some down and out looking people near the entrance to the store. Very inexpensive looking clothes were hanging outside on clothes rounders and were marked down significantly. Yellow Jacket wasps and or bees were flying around the parking lot and we had to dodge them while walking into the store. Definitely not somewhere I would frequent but glad we stopped in to now say we know what Fred Meyer chain has to offer. Customer service on the other hand was excellent, we got in and out very quickly and we were assisted in finding what we were looking for and able to pick up a few last minute "Made in Oregon" consumables. read more

When I visited Fred Meyers today, the second day of mandatory mask, I was surprised to see the employee at the door was not enforcing masks. And that their were people walking around without mask in this store. Either enforce or not. It's not that I believe in the mask, it's respect for those who are older or who might have a compromised immune system. I went to Fred Meyers today for shopping. When I finished, I went to checked out at the register. After placing all my items on the counter, I was informed that their credit card machine was down. I replaced my items back into my cart and proceeded to wait in line at another checkout. After placing all my items on the counter, I was informed that her credit card machine was out as well. I asked if all the credit cards machines were out. She replied yes. I asked why hasn't anyone made an announcement to all the customers. She said her managers told her. I asked for her to call the manager. She continued to check other customers out ignoring my request. As I left my full cart and exited the store, I could see other customers becoming irrate. I will not be treated like this by a rude checkout person or a manager who treats customers like crap. read more

I was just informed by the Pharmacy that they are no longer honoring the Good Rx discount program according to Corporate. I do not have insurance so it is out of pocket. The prescription was $302, the Good Rx would have made it $102. How does Fred Meyer get away with such price gouging?? Good Rx helps keep some of these places more honest. This store isn't perfect, but what store is? Every store has something other stores don't have, but not every store has great employees. However, even when a store has great employees, people have bad days, so lighten up. Yeah, I have to do my rounds to get everything I want, but I get what I want and make a list for each store. As for Fred Meyer in GP, I've been very happy to shop here. Most of the employees are friendly most of the time. It's clean, well lit, has a decent variety and the prices are comparable to some of the other stores in GP. I also like that there's a gas station at this location and I get a little discount at the pump after shopping. If you want to save a little more, there are coupons available if you create an account on their Website. Generally speaking, this store can provide a good shopping experience if you have a good attitude and don't let the small stuff get under you skin. To begin with I have to say I'm not a reviewer... This will be like the second time in my lifetime I reviewed a business. With the growing numbers of Covid in our area, I buy online for pick up - this is the safest way for me, and obviously a lot of people in our area, to shop . All the more reason that I believe stores have to hold to a certain standard of practice that's consistent and fair. I purchased a product online that was listed at almost half price and was delighted with the sale. I paid for my purchase and scheduled my pick up for two days later. We drove 45 miles to the store AFTER checking online to make sure my order was available and there were no problems with my order. The product was listed as fulfilled, ready for pickup and reflected the price I had ordered it for. When we went to pick it up the price has doubled! And the associate said we owed $50.00 more than the original purchase. He said this could be added to our card or we could elect not to pick up the merchandise. My husband immediately complained and said this is not the price we were quoted when we paid for it. The delivery person said that the sale was no longer active, but that he was authorized to give us a maximum of 20.00 off the price. We excepted that only because we had already driven that distance and to leave without anything would've been a waste of our time. But, I was still upset as my card had been charged the sale price on the day I ordered it. I subsequently called the store and the department manager explained to me that what was charged on my card was called a "soft charge", that would be pending until the sale was final and the merchandise has been picked up. I told him I understood that but obviously I would have made an effort to get to the store earlier had I've been told in some fashion either by text or call or my email that in fact the price was going to change before I drove that distance- The other point the associate added was that this is why we were offered a partial refund ....(what ...? For our trouble ?!). My response to him was this, 1.) If this was a hard line policy that they were enforcing, and they felt comfortable with this policy I don't believe I would have been offered a "compensation" for our trouble 2.) This offer for a partial refund was made only after and because my husband complained. In other words if someone else in the same situation (which I have to assume happens on a fairly regular basis) was not prepared or knowledgeable enough to argue the point, they would've driven that distance and payed double what they initially thought they were paying for it. As it turns out, after calling the third time and insisting on talking to a store manager, she began the conversation by offering us the option of gift card, or credit on our card to honor the original price. Although I appreciate her gesture, this is obviously not about the $20 or $30 that we were reimbursed. There is no reason to think that this won't happen again to unsuspecting shoppers online. This pandemic will most likely be going on for several months maybe even over the next year, and as such online shopping is going to be a large percentage of Fred Meyer's business. It's time for them to step up and conduct their business with more transparency. This means : 1) honoring the sales price given and paid for at the point of sale - irregardless of the day the merchandise is picked up . Or 2) revealing in large plain and explicit language that this merchandise will be on sale for a set amount of time- after which consumer will pay the difference between the sale and the regular price (that being said -there's no doubt in my mind that this information is given in small print somewhere on their website.... but you and I both know this is not read by the average consumer. They need to make this clear and transparent.) And in addition 3) IF the price changes on an online purchase - the consumer should be notified of that change,if it has not yet been picked up,and given option to proceed or cancel the order. read more

I was feeling super pissed off... but now I'm just sad. Today, my family and I decided to go grocery shopping. It's usually my husband, Viet running and getting dinner or whatever we need. But today, we went as a family. We went to Fred Meyer grants pass Oregon and as we were checking out, the cashier didn't even look up at us. No hi, no how are you doing, paper or plastic? Nothing. He didn't even read our total money owed. All he said was, "young man, stop" he was talking to Lyric, my 5 year old son. He was being a kid and just walking around the cart. I almost lost it. But I somehow, held it in and walked out the store. After I left, I just had this shitty feeling where I need to share my experience. So I decided to call and ask to talk to the store manager. The on duty manager said that they don't handle calls like these and what can he do to help. I then told my story. How I felt like I was treated poorly and even asked if they train their cashiers in customer service? Like, he didn't even acknowledge us at all. We are paying customers. Hard cold cash customers! Not that there's anything wrong with people on government assistance but damn, why were we single out like that? Just cause the color of our skin? I then told the manager on duty that I'm a local business owner and that I was going to tell my clients, friends and family how the people representing Fred Meyer made me feel. He laughed at me and said, go ahead, it's not going to hurt us. Have a good day and hung up on me. I'm left dumbfounded. Is this really happening to me right now? I guess it is. I just wanted to share my experience with you guys. I probably won't be shopping there any longer. I don't have control over anyone's action, all I have control over is my own. All I can do right now is hope and pray that those people find compassion in their hearts. We are all children of God. read more
