I was feeling super pissed off... but now I'm just sad. Today, my family and I decided to go grocery shopping. It's usually my husband, Viet running and getting dinner or whatever we need. But today, we went as a family. We went to Fred Meyer grants pass Oregon and as we were checking out, the cashier didn't even look up at us. No hi, no how are you doing, paper or plastic? Nothing. He didn't even read our total money owed. All he said was, "young man, stop" he was talking to Lyric, my 5 year old son. He was being a kid and just walking around the cart. I almost lost it. But I somehow, held it in and walked out the store. After I left, I just had this shitty feeling where I need to share my experience. So I decided to call and ask to talk to the store manager. The on duty manager said that they don't handle calls like these and what can he do to help. I then told my story. How I felt like I was treated poorly and even asked if they train their cashiers in customer service? Like, he didn't even acknowledge us at all. We are paying customers. Hard cold cash customers! Not that there's anything wrong with people on government assistance but damn, why were we single out like that? Just cause the color of our skin? I then told the manager on duty that I'm a local business owner and that I was going to tell my clients, friends and family how the people representing Fred Meyer made me feel. He laughed at me and said, go ahead, it's not going to hurt us. Have a good day and hung up on me. I'm left dumbfounded. Is this really happening to me right now? I guess it is. I just wanted to share my experience with you guys. I probably won't be shopping there any longer. I don't have control over anyone's action, all I have control over is my own. All I can do right now is hope and pray that those people find compassion in their hearts. We are all children of God. read more

Over priced items with long waits to check out. Their return policy is junk and that's after you wait 45 minutes in line to return an item that the customer service people give you attitude about. Horrible place to shop. When Walmart offers far superior customer service you are in trouble. read more

I do not enjoy shopping, but I enjoy this store. It is organized and all the aisles have accurate labels. Everything is always in the right place and the employees are always more than willing to help you out with anything at all. The fact that they have everything I need in one location is VERY convenient! Also, the sushi that is made fresh on a daily basis is delicious! read more

Brittany made sure that the bathroom which needed attention got cleaned and Joyce was just plain old amazing and kind to me and my aunts service dog. I'm giving this fred Meyer a 5 star review all because of Arvid, the customer experience there was great. He grabbed a TV for me then as I was checking out the card reader changed languages to Spanish, then Arvid started speaking spanish. This store has some of the rudest cashiers I've ever seen which is surprising, I would think with the outrageous prices they charge for EVERYTHING they could afford to pay a little more and get some friendly, helpful people. The merchandise they sell in the home section of the store is all junk, pressboard laminate furniture and towels that disintegrate within about ten washes. Wal Mart must love these guys read more

The store is ok but the pharmacy is awful ,every single month they mess up ,they call to say your prescription is ready only to find out it isn't .They love the pass the buck game it always someone else's fault .I figure it's time to change it's ridiculous .So if your looking for a pharmacy this is probably not your best choice . read more

We always go here when we visit relatives in Oregon. I'll keep this review simple. An item that is originally $20 is only $5 when it is 75% off. If that item is still 75% off and rings up for $10 instead of $5, you can not take another 25% off the $10 ring up price and get the same result. First time in Oregon and my cousin kept telling me to check out Fred Meyer. It's a one stop shop for groceries, clothing, electronic, pharmacy, etc. It was a little overwhelming and felt strange to have everything under one roof, but very convenient for shoppers. read more

Put a Safeway, Target, Marshals into one store and a Fred Myers is what you get! They have clothing, shoes, furniture, groceries, automotive, gardening, home repair, paint you name it. It's a shame California doesn't have one of these! This is 100% better than a Wal-Mart. Love this place! read more

Fred Meyer is my favorite spot to shop in GP if I need a variety of items. They have a good selection of shoes and clothing, household items & appliances, home improvement basics, electronics, gardening items, etc. I like their produce & organics, too. I love to shop their clearance sales! It's farther from home for me, but I'll go there if I need several different kinds of items. read more

I Love coming in this store because I can find most of what I am looking for and can be surprised at some of the sales and the items that I can purchase. Since the Wienery is no more I was sad at my availability of Portland Punch, but right there on the shelf is Portland punch concentrate to make at home, how great is that? I know its the simple things in life you take for granted, but you have to roll with the flow, the place is clean, it make you comfortable to be there, and I am pleased to go in to shop at a place that makes me fell welcome. read more

I like Fred Meyer but this one is a little shabby. We looked for some clothes - there was a buy one, get one half off sale going on, but we couldn't find a second pair of many items (we found one pair of pants but couldn't find another pair in the same size that wasn't banged up or otherwise messed up). Oddly, the clothes were also fairly expensive, in my mind at least (lots of blouses for ~$30-60, and the pants were $60.) Similarly, we looked at some of the outdoors items but they looked a little beat up (at least in terms of the packaging). Other parts of the store, like the grocery part, seemed fine. They were also cooking ribs outside, which we had for lunch and were just fine. read more

This used to be the only place I would shop for groceries . Lately, they either quit carrying something I used to buy there, or they are completely out. The $$ I save on gas there is spent driving around finding the items I need. So frustrating . I love the employees, though. Always friendly and as helpful as they can be. I'm hanging in there a little longer in hopes they get their act together, but will only shop there from now on for non grocery items. read more

When Fred Meyer was Fred Meyer it was a good store. But since Kroger took over it sucks. I've had so many items that I typically shop for on a regular basis removed as a closeout. Popular items. Everything from Rex Goliath Sauvignon Blanc to Emeral Essence seasoning to aqua fina to a sleepaid to a beef stroganoff mix to velveeta cheese sauce. Happy to know that this location is in Brookings and appreciated the full Fred Meyer selection. Management of this Fred Meyer needs to better train their staff, first employee encountered was cart wrangler who should offer a cart to waiting customers or at least acknowledge their presence, not just walk away. Last employee encountered was also a cart wrangler (different young man) who walked away as my partner asked him to please return the electric cart. read more

Freddie's gets a solid 4 stars. It is a 3 star store, with 5 star hours (7:00 am - 11:00 pm) Limited selection of home electronics; good clothing lines for the area (Carthart's, Columbia, etc); Good sales on Duck (Oregon Duck football, etc) and that other team's gear; Wide selection of infant, toddler & children's shoes and apparel; decent selections for the teen set; adequate, functional clothing, shoes and apparel for adults .... nothing fancy though; nice jewelry dept when you need to pick a little something up for someone special; Nice, wide selection of housewares and a decent garden dept. Good sales. I don't grocery shop here enough to be able to navigate the aisles with ease or, really, comment but their SEAFOOD guy is awesome! Got me a fresh caught Coho and the guy wielding the knife turned it into 6 steaks and a couple fillets ready to dress and barbecue in an instant! He's good! read more

The pharmacy is a joke. Go to pick up a script, had to wait in the long line, only to be told they forgot to fill it. Bunch of crap.

I ordered several platters and a birthday cake for my father's 101st birthday. When I arrived to pick them up, they hadn't received the online order for the platters. They were absolutely wonderful! Within 10 minutes they were able to put together the delicious ribs, chicken tenders, veggie and caprese platters. The cake order did go through and it was beautiful and delicious! They gave me a generous discount for the inconvenience and threw in extra bbq sauce and tongs! They were absolutely wonderful, gracious and very apologetic! While I would normally say this is a great store and there are many lovely employees - today I'm writing this review because of one particular cashier, TRACI. I bring my own canvas and cloth bags for my groceries, some big to average size and a couple very small ones for me to put bread, tomatoes, you know, crushable stuff. I asked TRACI to do that, put the bread, etc in the small ones and the other stuff in the large ones, and she immediate started putting everything she could get into the small bag, I asked her to stop and to please bag that stuff in the other large bags and she got mad, she actually tossed the bag of cherries up into my cart and said "Here" you know, as in "Here, bag it yourself". I asked her if there was a problem and she said no and just kept bagging the way she wanted to. I had to rebag after I checked out. I called manager when I got home, she apologized and said she would talk to her but who know if that will happen. Just a very rude cashier and has me rethinking where I shop. read more
