    Window sticker with no mention of dealer adds or markups but hits us with $7,000 of add ons on the proposal

    I drove over an hour to Fred Haas Toyota World for a 2026 Supra, only to encounter a textbook example of "stealership" behavior. The unprofessionalism began with Internet Specialist Rebekah Best, who was defensive and repeatedly talked over me during a call regarding pricing transparency. Upon her request and after sending my trade-in data, she went silent--only to bypass me and text my wife to solicit a visit. We decided to make the trip, knowing she would not be the salesperson we would be dealing with. However, after the test drive, our salesperson, Enrique, explicitly confirmed the car would be sold at MSRP with no add-ons. That was a lie. The moment we sat down, they presented a "pencil" with $7,000 in forced add-ons over the $64,064 sticker, totaling approximately $76,000 out the door. These additions--including wheel locks and window tint/coating or protection packages--were not disclosed during our initial conversation, nor were they listed on the window sticker of the Supra (see attached). These are items that can be completed professionally for a fraction of the price they are demanding. When I held Enrique to his word about selling at MSRP, the manager chose to act "offended" by my counter-offer. It is staggering that a dealership can act insulted by a customer's offer, while simultaneously attempting to "steal" $7,000 in pure profit through cheap dealership adds and predatory markups. I am disappointed to have wasted a Sunday expecting a professional experience, only to receive service that contradicts a "100% Satisfaction Guaranteed" commitment, a sign they have posted on their wall. I will be taking my business to one of the many competing Houston-area Toyota dealerships that prioritize transparency over 'bait-and-switch' tactics. Fred Haas Toyota World is far from being the only option in this market and given my experience, they are certainly not the #1 Toyota dealership in TX. Save yourself the time and frustration: demand a signed, itemized quote before visiting. Transparency and customer satisfaction is clearly not a priority at this location.

    As a former Non Commissioned Officer in the Army, I am used to high pressure environments and recognizing when someone is selling a story. My experience at Fred Haas Toyota felt the same. The salesman, Zeke, gave a great pitch, but the finance department with Adam applied heavy pressure once it came time to sign. They constantly talked about how many vehicles they sell as a reason to trust them while pushing hard to close the deal. After having time to process the deal, I realized how scummy the whole experience really was. The process felt focused on making money more than making sure the customer is comfortable. My advice is to take your time, read everything carefully, and do not let them rush you. There are thousands of other dealerships in the greater Houston area.

I bought a car from NexCar in July 2025, and I just got around to changing the oil on it. I found that the technician at NexCar cross threaded the drain plug (this damages the oil pan, leads to oil leaks, and can put metal shavings in the oil), and I know NexCar did this because they change the oil on all their cars. To remedy their mistake, some gorilla put RTV silicone all around the plug and WAY over tightened it (this further damaged the pan and can put silicone in the oil). I immediately took pictures and videos of their horrible repair and got a repair quote from a local shop. I sent these to Beto, a service representative, and he took days to respond after repeated calls. Today, after the car has been waiting in a shop for three days, I called again just to be informed by the owner that the cars are sold "as is" and they won't pay for the repairs. If I bought the car from someone on Facebook, I would assume such risks. However, this was an established business with seemingly good reviews. NexCar strung me around for a week waiting an answer and repeatedly ignored my calls. What NexCar did was crooked, and businesses like them give used car dealers a bad reputation. If I could leave a 0 star review, I would.

However, upon receiving the car, I discovered multiple issues that were not disclosed prior to the sale. The audio system is defective, with severe distortion even at low volume. I specifically asked about the radio as it looked like it was post-factory installed. The vehicle came with only one key, which was in terrible condition (I'd rate it 7 out of 100). On top of that, the car was never detailed before it was shipped -- the interior was dirty, and the engine bay was filled with leaves and debris, which is shocking for a vehicle with only 38,000 miles. The doors had glue all over them as someone had taken them apart and tried to put them together. None of this was mentioned beforehand and the list can go on! I contacted Angello immediately to address these issues, but after multiple attempts, I've received no response except "I will forward your message to the director" I got a loan for the can and cannot register it in California because Uptown imports did not send the pink slip to the DMV or to the bank (as they are supposed to) Eventually they ended up sending it to me! (WHAT?) How are they in business of selling cars if they don't even know what to do with the pink slip?! This level of communication and customer service is completely unacceptable. If a business can't stand behind what it sells--or even respond after the sale--that speaks volumes. I've waited long enough for a resolution and am extremely disappointed in how this was handled.
