If I could give zero stars, I would. I would strongly…read moreadvise against doing business with Dance Deluxe. Our experience has been nothing but unprofessional, unethical, unorganized and frustrating. They have been deceitful about fees, restricting access to our payment records, and refusing to provide a clear breakdown of charges. Despite their claim that we owed costume fees, I reviewed my payment records (before they suspiciously revoked my access to the parent portal) and confirmed that all costume fees had already been paid. When we challenged them on this, instead of addressing our concerns, they shut down communication and made it unnecessarily difficult--seemingly because we decided to discontinue dance. Additionally, they are refusing to refund summer recital costume fees, yet won't provide any information on when we can pick them up. If the recital fees won't be refunded either, they should at least refund the remaining balance on our account. But instead of handling this professionally, they simply refuse to engage. Beyond the financial issues, there is a lot of favoritism at this studio. Certain dancers and families are clearly prioritized, while others are treated unfairly. When concerns are brought up, the staff is always extremely defensive instead of being open to feedback or resolution. Another major issue is their staffing. Instead of hiring experienced instructors, they rely on their older teenage dancers to teach classes. While some of these teens may be talented dancers, they are not trained teachers. I often found that if I wasn't sitting outside the room, the young instructors wouldn't effectively manage the class or keep students engaged. It's completely unprofessional to expect parents to monitor the instructors just to ensure they do their jobs. On top of that, the instructors are rude, unprofessional, and even make fun of students instead of creating a supportive learning environment. Rather than being encouraging, they act dismissively and unkindly toward certain dancers. No child should feel uncomfortable or belittled at a place that is supposed to foster growth and confidence. The facility itself is also disgusting. They never clean or sanitize the dance rooms or dressing rooms, and the whole place smells like urine and feet. For a place where kids are constantly moving, stretching, and sitting on the floors, basic hygiene should be a priority--but clearly, it isn't. A professional business should be willing to justify its charges, provide qualified instructors, and treat all customers with respect--even if they choose to leave. Instead, Dance Deluxe operates in a way that feels dishonest and retaliatory. If you're considering this studio, I'd strongly recommend looking elsewhere to avoid the same headaches we've experienced. If anyone would like to reach out to me to discuss this further, feel free to contact me. I'm happy to share my experience in more detail.

My daughter has been attending Studio 3 since 2010. I've…read morehad all 3 of my children there for classes. Emma, the owner, loves these kids and goes above and beyond for them every chance she gets. I've never seen someone more committed to kids as she is. I consider myself to be a protective parent and I trust Emma and the staff with my kids wholeheartedly. Throughout 2020 they have worked tirelessly to put safe systems and procedures in place to continue providing kids with opportunities to safely rehearse and even perform on stage! Following all city / county / state guidelines and mandates. Even going beyond mandated guidelines when it made it safer for the kids, their families, and staff. Studio 3 is my daughter's "home away from home" many staff and students have become family to her.

In response to Sandra's review, I was at the understudy show as a parent and have a completely…read moredifferent take. The kids loved that the director came in and the actor whose line they took was completely aware because the director came in at the time the usual actor does. The actor then came in from a completely different spot. I would imagine the rest of the cast was not uneasy but instead trying hard not to laugh. These kids had begged the director to do the whole part and he said no. This quick change was done in response to their begging. The second scene was also a quick dance in a circle with other cast members and was not dangerous. It was just enough for the audience to realize it was a joke and then they left. My daughter loved these two parts that were done for the understudy show and the kids realize anything can happen. The kids don't necessarily get a full run through but that happens at most places with understudies. Sometimes you get to have a run through but not always. The lifts were actually done by a lot of the same cast. One actor actually came in just for the lift because he did it when he was his main role. The track was definitely legally purchased when they bought the rights. The play stops and gos with music because that is what it does. There was nothing wrong with this performance and my daughter and I loved it

They implemented a new program too which I like because the complaints I did have I think will be resolved through that program. The teachers seems aloof and not kid friendly. The monthly payment is high, but probably comparable to other dance schools, however they make you pay for everything. The costume for the play was almost a $100, and I could have made a better job myself. The school sent a list of makeup items for the official play picture, and they were outrageously expensive; I feel sorry for some of the parent that felt compelled to buy them from the list. We decided to do it ourselves and the results were so much better! In addition to the monthly payment, the expensive costume, and make up, they also charge you a hefty fee for your kid to participate in the play. What is the point of the class then? Why are we paying the monthly payment to begin with? Isn't the play the culmination of a year of class? Oh, and both parents are required to buy tickets for the play (I would have thought that at least one parent would be free of charge since it's a minor participating), but the worst of all, they don't even reserve the tickets for you; you have to go into the system where everybody else is buying tickets, and good luck finding good seats. I don't mind paying a high price for things, but I need to see value for my money, and this school does not offer it.
