They…read moredemonstrated a commitment to quality instruction with an equal love for their students and their wellbeing. It was our safe haven. This is no longer the case. They've gone the way of everyone else; only the stars matter. Everyone else who has been keeping their lights on for years has been banished to level one purgatory and told they will never do X or Y. Excuse me but becoming a professional ballerina was never the goal for us. We just wanted to get exercise, learn discipline, and have fun, not retire at 25 with a permanently damaged body while living on food stamps. ‍ If you have a child on the spectrum, I highly recommend finding an alternative. This studio is not neuroinclusive; they'll keep your kid down year after year after year until you finally get the hint and show yourself out the door. Spark, sometimes human beings matter more than the number of girls you brag about sending to summer intensives. You can still put on a beautiful production while allowing autistic girls to progress with their peers (not talking about pointe, talking about dignity and inclusivity). You know it's illegal to discriminate against disabilities, right? So disappointed and heartbroken.

I went to the Fred Astaire Dance Studio because I wanted to surprise my wife with a truly special…read moreevening. I spoke with Lindsay, the owner of the studio, and asked her if she could help me plan a night to remember for my wife. Amazingly, Lindsay jumped right in and helped me plan a magical night. She arranged it so my wife and I could come in after hours. Then she and her staff set up the items I'd dropped off at the studio: candles and flowers, which they arranged in the shape of a large heart in the center of the dance floor. As my wife and I walked in, they turned down the lights. My wife, still totally clueless to our efforts, thought we were walking into a business that had just closed for the evening. Then suddenly the candles came on and slow dance music started to play. I walked my wife back to the dressing rooms where the dance clothes I'd dropped off were already laid out. Still confused, I explained to my wife that we had the entire dance studio to ourselves with a private lesson from Bo. He was the gentleman who was going to be our dance instructor for the evening. When my wife appeared from the dressing room Bo greeted us with such enthusiasm, it made it really special. He asked us what we hoped to learn that evening, and explained what we would do to get there. Bo was great. He told us that he believed in positive reinforcement and that every time we got something right, we either had to hug or kiss! Even though Bo was in on it with my efforts to make things magical that evening, the positive reinforcement stuff was all him, and honestly, it made the night even better. Don't get me wrong, I probably looked more like a toddler who'd been drinking shots of tequila than I did someone who was swing dancing, but Bo's encouragement and patience made it all seem not so terrible for me. At the end of our lesson, Bo walked up and told us that we now had 20 mins to enjoy the dance floor however we liked. We started by doing everything he'd shown us that evening, but ended by dancing in each other's arms. It was simply the best night I could have hoped for, and I owe it all to Lindsay and Bo. We will be back!!!

It is run very professional and the teacher for her class is very proper and well educated in the art of ballet. In the little time since she has been here, there have been two opportunities to perform in a Halloween performance in October as well as a Nutcracker performance in December. From a newcomers standpoint, I feel like a lot of work and thought is put into the success of this studio, and that there are many opportunities for the dancers to grow and become the best they can be. The studio consists of four/five separate store fronts in an office style complex. It is set off of the road and in a very nice, quiet area. I was a bit confused about how the studios were labeled and where we should go our first time, but if you drive around to the back of the building, all of the studio doors are clearly labeled.. The kids enter from the back of the studio and leave from the front. The first time we came, we entered from the front, while all of the other dancers were leaving and it was a bit chaotic. It runs very smoothly if you drop your dancer off at the back and pick up in the front. There is a Walgreens, Sonic and a nail salon in the same parking lot, making it so nice for me since we live too far away to go back home for an hour, so I usually sit in the parking lot for the duration of her class. So far I am Very impressed with this school and the professionalism that I have seen . I've heard the performances are wonderful and the costumes are even better. I've talked to several parents of the other dancers and they all have stated that their dancers have been at the studio for a long time and that they really enjoy the it a lot. Also, to make it even better, they sell leotards, tights and other ballet accessories (NOT BALLET SHOES THOUGH) right in the lobby, at the same price as any other place, so that made is quite easy to get started.
