We bought a Groupon to come a learn some basic dance moves for our wedding. E N T R A N C E / H O W T O Its hard to find. It's in a big red brick building. Park in parking lot A. Walk directly out of the parking lot area to the red brick building with the double doors and it's right there on the right side. It's a fairly large and open dance space. A M B I A N C E Very open and friendly. On the dance floor, there are usually many instructors teaching their own clients. It's loud enough to make you feel comfortable and not like others are staring. But quiet enough for you to easily listen and converse with your instructor. Front desk personnel are friendly and quick. Make some small talk but multitask, get the job done and you're out of there! I N S T R U C T O R Dia, our dance instructor, was very warm and friendly. She's kind of quirky and has a vibrant personality. She is a great instructor because she is able to verbalize what body movements to move to help non dancers/those with limited music sense, like my husband, understand the basics. She seems very open to answering questions. She's very knowledgeable. Because of her, I was very happy to sign an additional few classes to learn more about each dance style. D A N C E C L A S S In our first 20 min class we learned the basic steps to: foxtrot, waltz, rumba, and swing. The second class, we learned to change directions and for my husband to turn me, to each of the dances. P R I C E Our Groupon included 2 private (20 mins dance time, scheduled according to your availability), 2 group (open according to their schedule), and 1 party lesson (open according to their schedule) for $25. It was very well worth it! We ended up signing for another package "A" ?$350 (I'll check the price again). 5 private classes, 2 group and 1 practice session. We are very excited to have fun and practice a bit more for our wedding. Honestly, we go cruising a lot so we are excited to dance with the older group to more classic songs as well! read more

Great instructors...totally make it FUN! Do not worry if you have 2 left feet or if you got the whole "elaine" dance thing going on... they will work with you to let your natural rhythm shine through the 'official' way of doing things. They do a great mix of private instruction and Group Dance Parties that let you mix and mingle with those that are little more experienced... Also having a great time. Their enjoyment....instructors and 'sr' students....is contageous. Great packages for getting started to try it out... $20 for multiple private and group lessons. PS... Simone was our instructor....LOVED Him! read more

We purchased a "deluxe" wedding dance package (~15 private lessons) to prepare for our first dance as husband and wife! Our instructor, Zeloisse, was amazing. We wanted a fully choreographed first dance with a beautiful/romantic/classic first half, then to break into a short hip-hop routine at the end. Zeloisse choreographed a beautiful and fun routine for us, and we worked with her and perfected it for 3 months before our wedding to make sure it was perfect! We surprised all of our guests with our first dance, and everyone was talking about it for the rest of the night - it was the highlight of our wedding for sure! As part of our dance package, we had the opportunity to perform our wedding dance for a large group of dance students ~1 week before our wedding at the studio. This was a great experience, because it allowed us to practice in front of an audience once before our big day, and to get all the nerves out. Once we went up there on our wedding day, we knew we would rock it. We highly recommend Ballroom Dance Clubs of Atlanta and Zeloisse for helping us with the perfect first dance!! read more

I'm in love with a....dancer! OMGeeeeee!!!! That was my excitement level after attending the group party with a friend. I loved the party, it was very fun * plus free wine-my kind of party!* But I didn't go with the intent of signing up, but they have such a great introductory special I had to jump on it. I've taken my two private lessons and have 2 group parties left to do *for $20 bucks that's a steal!* The location is perfect, not too far and so glad they are open til 10pm. I don't get nervous, if I mess up they understand and work with me. And maybe it helps that my instructor Felix says I'm a natural...*it's in my blood*. I am thoroughly looking forward to enrolling in more classes and finally becoming the amazing dancer I've always imagined in my head! read more

Over the past few years, I have been truly inspired to get back into dancing after watching So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing with the Stars. I promised myself that my New Years Resolution for 2009 is to be a better dancer. After much researching and the recommendation from both Liz and Rick, I decided to check out one of their free dance parties. Now, this is my first time ever learning how to ballroom dance and hoped that my previous experience in dance class would not make it too difficult for me. Upon arriving my friends and I were greeted by all the instructors and students. Surprisingly after getting to know some of them...many were pros and know and competed with some of the same people I am a fan of on SYTYCD and Dancing with the Stars. The entire Atlanta Ballroom Dance Club team were fantastic, friendly and really know how to have a good time. They showed us the basic steps of pretty much every type of ballroom style and it was nice to be able to practice it during the party. It was very cool to see Liz and Rick do a swing routine which all I can say is...AMAZING! Oh and it was really nice to offer wine or champagne to the guests during the party. If you are interested in learning how to ballroom dance, definitely check this place out. I signed up for a trial period and look forward to tapping into my inner ballroom dancer and see what I am capable of doing. You should too!!! read more

In my mind I am already a professional ball room dancer. In the real world, not so much. They have special times when you can go and attend a group dance class for cheap. Then stick around for the 'party' afterwards. Thats when they serve champagne and you get to show off what you learned. Definately date-worthy. Or girls night out. My sister and I used to go there once a week and learn new salsa steps. Things to know: parking is complementary valet or park yourself. (Valeting makes the evening feel special, just make sure you tip) You may feel like you are getting lost on the way there; thats means you are going in the right direction. It is a for-profit business so they will try to get you to take classes. No-pressure. When you say no, they listen. Wear secure-fitting high heels and cute, flowing skirts that will let you move and look sexy when you dance, cause there are mirrors everywhere. Have fun! read more

Everyone here is amazing. My fiancé and I had no prior dance experience and in one week we are feeling more confident and actually having fun. Definitely recommend. read more

Booked this as a gift for my wife through Groupon as she loves dancing. Our instructor Candice was great and we are sad that our two private lessons are over now. Candice was a great teacher and very hands on. Keep in mind this Groupon is more for beginners and don't expect to learn too much advanced stuff in the two private lessons. That being said, we did get to try many different dance styles, learned the basics plus a few moves, and had a lot of fun. The studio also has group lessons and social events which we look forward to going to as part of the intro. deal. If you aren't into dance, given the cost it's a pretty great way to try it out and a very fun date night idea for you and your partner. Continuing on though with the private lessons is quite costly. Although to be fair, I'm saying this without having compared it to other places offering similar services in Atlanta. read more

Fantastic instructors!! Walter and Melissa have taught me sooo much and every lesson is great fun!!

I purchased a Groupon deal they were offering and I am happy I did! It's a fun experience for people who have never ballroom danced before and I would highly recommend coming here. Everyone was very welcoming and professional. They also have monthly activities including potlucks, group dance and costume parties! read more

I started taking lessons here in April after I agreed with a certain someone that I would try anything once. Well, after figuring I would absolutely hate it, come to find out I actually like it and have continued taking lessons there for over 8 months now. I have learned a lot about ballroom dancing and can actually see myself getting better and remembering steps from week to week. The teachers are all fun to be around and learn from. The parties are fun and you get to learn your steps in a "real" environment with other people. You won't die of embarrassment and you might actually have fun. Try bringing your girlfriend/wife here and they will definitely be digging it! read more

I am not the type to give reviews, although, in this situation I felt it was a must so others can be fully aware. I am a busy business owner and I have been taking private Salsa classes for over 2 years now at the Ballroom Dance Clubs of Atlanta in which I would always enjoy my classes until recently. I took the salsa class to have an outlet to relieve stress from my busy life of running my own business. However, recently that changed, the class became very stressful to the point where I was forcing myself to even go to class after purchasing classes for a year. Sometimes, I have meetings that run over time, so I get to my class 5 to 15 minutes late. In the past 2 years that I have been attending class, the instructor was fine with me coming in late, however, the new instructor will have a disrespectful attitude towards me which made me feel quite uncomfortable. Especially, since it was a personal session, there was no reason for her to give me so much attitude being that she would get compensated regardless if I showed up or not. The dance studio's policy is they will charge for the session if you do not give them a 24hr cancellation warning. So, at this point I didn't feel comfortable even going to class any more.  So, I decided I would rather go to a different dance studio and end my subscription at this dance studio. When I attempted to contact the owner, Kristine Knipp, and she did not call me back for months. After finally speaking with her to explain that I was unhappy with the customer service and I would like my money back for the remainder of the year, she replied that she will not refund my money and that I needed to donate the classes to charity. Needless to say, I was very dissatisfied with the way the owner handled this situation.   From my experience, the owner is extremely unprofessional and apparently has no clue about customer service. The bottom line, if a customer is dissatisfied with a service or product you either accommodate them or refund their money. In which I received neither. I do not recommend anyone to purchase a yearly subscription at this dance studio. read more

The main squeeze and I initially went using a Groupon then continued on and took the beginners course for some fun. The Groupon consisted of three classes and the beginners five with some dance parties that are held on Thursdays and Fridays. We had a lot of fun and learned more than I thought we would! James, our instructor, was awesome and everyone there was very friendly. I'd recommend anyone to try it out! read more

The Latin dance class I took was just okay compared to other places I took classes and customer service is so unprofessional. I will not be back. read more

Never thought I could dance. Came here after wife and I wanted our first dance to be an uptempo song even though neither of us knew how to dance... Simone can up with a great routine that matched each part of the song and worked with us every week adjusting the routine and teaching new steps to add in. In 5 lessons, it was amazing that we could actually dance! We had the whole routine down confidently and this experience made the first dance a great part of the wedding. This experience turned out to be a great way to break up the stress of the work week. Made us work together and communicate to accomplish a goal. The whole staff is wonderful and very supportive. We are coming back for more. read more
