Stopped by for a late night bite and it's what you would expect from a diner. The service was okay and the food was good. I liked the ambiance and there was a lot of seating options inside. I would probably come back if I was in the area because it was a nice spot to chill with friends and we played card games while eating our food.

This place is great. I mean it's a dinner, it's not trying to reinvent the wheel. Went for pancakes and curly fries at 10pm and it definitely hit the spot. I will say, the prices are higher than I would expect. For 3 pancakes with absolutely nothing else and no sides it was already $14 or $15 dollars. Go for the late night diner vibes with friends and maybe a milkshake if you've got extra cash to burn.

Fred62 has been my go-to destination for early morning and late night food in LA for more than a decade because there is something here for everyone from the vegans to the carnivores with some GF options. With such a wide variety of cuisines, it's not perhaps the best at any particular cuisine (e.g. you won't find the best ramen/pho here, but the noo deli does hit when in the mood). I mostly order a main dish as an excuse to have their milkshakes and bossa nova waffle sundae. Service is always fast and the diner vibes are cozy and strong. Plus, it's open late, which is definitely a plus. Please never change.

The ambiance is a diner vibe. Open seating. We found seats right away and were served within 10 minutes. The food was just okay. We got burgers and a root beer float. I really liked the tots and fries though. Overall the food was overpriced for just being alright. Nice area. Difficult to park.

Nice little retro dinner in the corner of Hollywood. The staff. Is very friendly and helpful our waiter suggested the burrito and my husband said it was the best breakfast burrito he's had. I ordered the steak and eggs it's was very delicious. Very nice restaurant, although the prices are not cheap for a breakfast spot. But on the bright side you leave with a full stomach.

I finally tried Fred 62 after driving by it so many times, and I'm glad I did. It's a cute little diner with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They're open well past midnight, which is always a plus. I loved the vibe--the car-style booths and the hip hop playing in the back gave it a fun, lively feel. Just a cool spot to end the night. Seated right away and greeted by a friendly + attentive waiter. The coffee was a bit mediocre and watered down, but the food portions were solid and priced fairly. We tried the chicken tenders, a salad, and the cheeseburger--everything was okay. Happy to finally cross this place off my list.

I have been coming to Fred's for over the past 25 years and in that time they have never failed to deliver good food in a decent atmosphere, keep doing what you do.

Fred 62 is a classic spot with a blend of past and present. As cool as it gets in the city of Los Feliz. This longstanding Los Angeles restaurant located on the corner of Vermont Avenue/Russell Avenue, just a beat down from Franklin Avenue has a lot to offer and then some... Bringing you an extensive menu variety with cool ambiance, retro decor and a crew of servers, managers, cooks that will have you nostalgic for more. Stopped in with my boyfriend who actually recommended Fred's as a favorite of his and our friend Andrew after a nice morning stroll and hike. We got guided to a great booth toward the back with plenty of room for three. Our sever was the absolute best, believe he might be the main manager here (I'm bad with names after a five mile hike #hungrysaidfred). He was more attentive, friendly, funny, and above an beyond. I knew F62 had/has an extensive menu, but did not know they had this amazing plant-based menu (with clearly labeled items throughout for vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free friendly options) as well nearly mirroring everything they make traditional and classic. It's comfort and quality food for all and I'm an instant fan! From Avocado or French Toasts to Falafel Plates, Chilaquiles, Burritos, Burgers, Bowls and more... You'll absolutely be hooked. Fresh hot delicious coffee, juices, teas, sodas, milkshakes (including dairy-free), beer, wine, still and sparkling water. A place that feels like that homey timeless diner with modern flare. Fun things to note: Happy Hour Monday through Friday from 2pm to 7pm. Street metered parking or lot paid parking. Gender neutral restrooms (clean as can be). Outdoor seating available. Military Discounts. Pup friendly. Gift cards and Fred 62 merch available for purchase (pickup/in-person or online). Open all seven days of the week from as early as 7:30AM (Sundays at 8am) until as late a 3AM (Thursday, Friday and Saturday only) or 1AM (Sunday through Wednesday). Serving it up in L.A. for 28 years (nearly 30), cheers to 28/30 more.

    Brunch item!

My family has been going here for years. So naturally a trip back to LA would require us to eat here for brunch. The server was super cool and spoke Spanish. The food was delicious and the drinks were good! I apologize for my upset yelp review! I spoke with Fred! I just won't use my Mastercard here again.

Fred 62 walks a fine line between performative Los Feliz trendiness and a legit American diner -- with a dash of retro '70s funk thrown in for good measure. I came here for brunch with a few friends and honestly, the food delivered. We got the steak & eggs, avocado toast with salmon, and the shakshuka. The steak was relatively thin (rightfully so) but well-seasoned and satisfying -- especially paired with eggs and crispy hash. The toasts were solid. While the shakshuka leaned a bit too tomato-forward for my taste, it wasn't bad. We ordered about a total of five dishes for the table, and when I saw the bill, it was surprisingly low for the area -- especially considering you're in gentrified Los Feliz. Overall, Fred 62 is a vibe: a little chaotic, a little nostalgic, and definitely worth coming back to for brunch.

The last time I dined here I wasn't all that impressed. It was cool a previous time, before that, when we had come for a collaboration with Tokidoki. I feel like the service is always lacking. We get seated. We get a menu. We sit for a very long time. We figure out what we wanna eat and just kind of stare off into space, looking around. Someone comes eventually. They will take our order and we get exactly what we ask for but somehow it feels like there should be something more. The biggest thing that we're usually missing is the service with a smile. I feel like people always just drop our food off and walk away. There isn't much interaction. The food is decent. It is not anything special. The prices are a bit elevated for what the food items are. I can't say that I'm a fan. It's a cute place but it's gotta be more than cute for to deserve my patronage.

Ordered Eggs Benedict, Burger & Fries, Shakes. Ham was gristly. Lukewarm on arrival. Not much flavor. Fast service. Personnel only checked 1 time if we needed anything. No refill offered on the Coke. Waitress was wearing a mask. Is that because she was ill and protecting others or was she protecting herself? Always makes me question that. Never saw her again until the final check. 1 person checked on us. Overpriced..... WAY overpriced and they wanted a 25% up to 50% tip hahahaha laughable!

Only got the waffle, but it was AMAZING! Literally just needed a small pick me up with my partner after a concert and this was perfect. Service was great, we were in and out in 30 mins condensing we only ordered fountain sodas and a waffle.

A fine diner that is open late. It's close to the Los Feliz theatre and is perfect for post-movie burgers plus shakes.

May 2026 - 2nd Visit…read more A girl broke things off with me today, and yet somehow eating here was the lowest point of my day. I don't understand how this place has won awards. I ordered a double hamburger and sweet potatoes fries bc I knew better than to order the sprouts after last time. And I have to say, the burger outdid itself after last time -- I've easily had dozens of better burgers in backyards. This burger had NO flavor. None. Halfway through eating it I realized they didn't put any effing pickles or sauce on it. WHAT?! How did you forget this?! But still, even without those, are you guys not smashing any season into your burger? I feel like I've discovered a conspiracy on par with the Da Vinci Code, which if I'm honest I'm not sure if that's a proper conspiracy analogy bc I never saw or read da Vinci code. Sucking a ketchup packet would've resulted in a more flavorful dinner. Licking a Hollywood blvd sidewalk for 3 seconds would give you a better sodium intake. But I digress. For health and digestive reasons (bc my digestive system is not really functional) I snuck in a radish to eat post burger. I am not kidding when I say the grocery store GMO Monsanto radish had more flavor than the burger. The sweet potato fries were the "highlight" of the meal and tasted as good as anything you'll get in a grocery store frozen aisle. There's no reason to ever go back.

Very interesting combination it comes highly recommended! We went with curly fries cuz we are from the Midwest and there are no Arby's out here lol but I opted to grab a side of their classic sauce, which ROCKS! THIS is what you mean when you hear "neighborhood burger joint." The building is located right on Imperial, and parking is available down the small side street, in a little lot behind the kitchen, or in a vacant lot next to the kitchen lot. You walk up to what looks like a house, and order, and wait for your number. There's nowhere really to sit, and there doesn't seem to be inside dining, so I sat on the curb and waited until my number was called. In that time, plenty of people stopped by to grab their orders, and some checked out the little store next door that seems to have just about everything you could possibly need, but you have to get it through the fence. The women who took my order and handed it to me were very friendly, the food was hot and fresh, and it is VERY reasonably priced for the quality and quantity. The fries are EXACTLY what I look for! Thick, super crunchy, perfectly salted, and you get a generous amount. The Fat Burger was made exactly as I ordered it, and had that perfect "neighborhood burger joint" greasiness and char that made it amazing. Everything came carefully packed in a box so I could eat it on the way home, and I got plenty of napkins and ketchup (though I hate ketchup!). These are the places that make LA great, and I will definitely go back again to try other items, and to support what is the one of the oldest consistently running Black owned restaurants in the country (started in 1939!), now run by a woman (daughter of the original owner!), and USC alum! Fight on!
