A few days ago, Fras-Air installed a new Honeywell Thermostat. It had some performance issues after running for a couple of days. We called Fras-Air, and within a few hours on a Sunday, they sent their technician, Jayven Jimenez. He spent a good amount of time finding this unique problem and fixed it. The flame sensor was erratic in making contact. He cleaned it, and we are happy with the result. Mr. Jimenez was persistent in solving the problem, and we are impressed by his expertise and professionalism. Thanks, Fras-Air, for such reliable and competent staff. read more

So far, the work was good, but very overpriced and not upfront about labor cost per hour or additional charges. An hour and a half of work to install the thermostat cost over $750! A company as a whole is a let down. My year old heater that was installed by this company has a part that malfunctioned and we are left with no heat in 30 degree weather. I have a sick senior in the cold and their response was to get space heaters..this is more than unacceptable!!!!!! read more

Just left Mom 85 years old. They wanted to charge her $4300.00 to charge her system with 410a refrigerant. $333.00 per pound. They are absolutely horrible and a scam. We have a new AC and paid for biannual maintenance. They broke our AC and tried to cover it up, and then wanted to charge us over $3.5k to "fix it". This is after two technicians tried to fix it and were unsuccessful. I spoke to a manager named Chad, who spoke to me with such disrespect, told me I need to "read up about HVAC" and told me I need to complain to corporate. He legit hung up on me and spoke down to me, probably because I'm a woman. They overcharge (their services are 3x more expensive than everyone else), they don't know how to fix anything, and are unbelievably rude. Avoid. read more

Horrible experience with Service Experts, formerly Frasair. Our furnace quit overnight in below freezing temperatures. We have had a service contract with Service Experts for over 20 years. We pay every month for this contract and have our furnace serviced by them regularly. After 30 minutes on hold, I was connected to a representative who told me that the soonest they could schedule an appointment would be January 2. As long time customers, in an emergency situation, this is totally unacceptable! When I asked to speak to a supervisor or owner, the representative would not give me any information. It was obvious she was talking from a script and had no experience with their service. We will definitely be canceling our contract with them and will take our business elsewhere. read more

DO NOT USE, A MAJOR RIPOFF. Called them when my AC broke during the heatwave. Took them a couple of days to get to my house which is fine. 2 guys come in, one is a trainer and the other was a trainee. They check the AC and first thing is there is a leak and we cannot repair. He then calls his SALES buddy who comes in 5 minutes (so they were tag teaming). The guys checks the size of the unit etc. and gives me 3 estimates, good, better, best, $10.5K, $11.5K, 12,5K. They don't want to talk repair. This is for a 2.5 ton AC unit. I pay them their $106 fee and send them packing. I found another guy who came in and fixed the leak for $600. How can you justify the price difference. So in short, NEVER EVER EVER use them for anything. I see there are people with good reviews but maybe they never did price shopping. Writing this review beyond upset! I have been their customer since 2011 and had nothing but great things to say about the company up until this week. My neighbor happened to bring back an envelope that for some reason was placed into her mailbox that contained my maintenance contract renewal form that I had mailed back to Service Experts a little while back. The form had originally come in a few weeks ago with a letter advising me that I needed to renew my maintenance agreement, and while the Platinum coverage I used to have was no longer being offered, suggesting the Maintenance Plus service agreement instead. There were absolutely no due dates mentioned whatsoever in either letter or form. However, I completed, signed and mailed the form back. For unknown reasons, the USPS bounced it back and accidentally dropped it into my neighbor's mailbox. When she brought it over, I immediately called 908-526-1155 explaining the situation and asking if I could just pay over the phone and renew it that way. A lady who answered the phone was clearly not interested in speaking with me at all. She verbatim told me "since you let your contract expire on July 9th, we no longer can renew it." I was stunned! First of all, even if I had done so, this is not the way to talk to a customer, and especially a loyal one of 12 years! Secondly, I had no idea that ANY dates or timelines were involved as such were not indicated in either letter or form! Lastly, she did not even offer any remedies or alternative actions to be taken. I literally asked her "So what are you saying? Should I look for another company to do my maintenance?" She said "no" and stopped at that, again, not offering any further information. I was so confused and in disbelief of what was happening that, in order to find a solution of some sort, I then asked to speak to their operations team's manager. He had recently introduced himself to me and told me to call if I ever had any problems. She put me on hold, came back and said that he was busy and told her to tell me that he will call me back tomorrow. (That callback never happened by the way). I then wrote a detailed email and sent it to frasair@serviceexperts.com and customercare@serviceexperts.com and again received absolutely no response. I am really upset at such treatment, I do not know what happened to this company. Their customer service used to be absolutely stellar, they truly cared about their customers, I can attest to that through personal experiences. Because of those I recommended Fras-Air to friends and neighbors and sent new customers to them over the years more times than I can count. However, today I felt like my business was no longer wanted or cared about at all and my loyalty of 12 years means absolutely nothing to them. I find it absolutely absurd and surreal that they expect consumers to have to beg and find creative ways to sign a maintenance contract with an HVAC company. Scheduled an appointment over a month in advance. Received a phone call the day before scheduled appointment at 4:45 pm to inform me that my appointment was canceled and it needed to be rescheduled. Reason being is that since my air conditioning was working then they could disregard my service request. I would not recommend this company due to the fact that they are unreliable. After a 36-hour dismal experience with Princeton Air's "emergency non-service", I gave Fras-Air a call. They had a technician to my house within an hour. He replaced the air-handler motor capacitor on the spot, and I was good to go within another half hour. The technician's name was Chad, who is now totally my hero. Fast diagnosis, and saved me having to replace the entire motor by thinking to check the capacitor, just in case, even though it was supposedly (barely) in spec. Highly recommended. read more

Home Air Conditioning Systems seem to go this time of year and there are 3 of these in my circle of friends. Everyone is both vigilant shopper and very bright in terms of what they are purchasing. All of these people also selected Costco and their installation company C&C. The difference in costs from local HVAC suppliers are too vast to ignore and the installers/service techs are just as local as the local companies except they are working with big brand, Costco, as their primary lead generation provider. They are predictably busy so they can staff up and provide overtime, retention bonus and Costco benefits. I'm posting this because if I did not take a neighbors advice I never would have guessed their prices being the best, by far and their service techs are as good as anyone that ever worked here on my systems. read more

I highly advise using this company for anything other than routine maintenance. I recently purchased a new furnace and the install process was terrible. The technicians could not get my thermostat to work (although purchased a new one) and ended up jumping the thermostat and not telling me. The next morning the house is cold so I call them back to look at the unit. The technician informs me its wired all wrong and no wonder I was having issues. The Installation Manager comes and looks and says it will be another $600 to get it working. Really? I need to pay to fix your mistake on the install? Use them at your own risk. read more

This company is the worst. I am done with them. They have zero loyalty to customers and put you on the schedule and don't show up. They can't even bother to call and let you know they aren't coming. This happened to me last time i needed them and they only came after i screamed at the operator the fourth time i was rescheduling the appointment. This time i had a Saturday appointment because it's 90 degrees and my AC is not working. i had a 2-5 window. the guy calls at 3 and says he's not coming because of the weather. what weather? Because it's hot out? hey dummy, that's when A/Cs break, when it's hot out. do your job! so i rescheduled again and no call no show. i am calling another plumber to do the repair today. they will never get another dime from me and i am done with them. Called them because my ac was out,no call no show, outsourced customer service was useless,would not recommend these guys.

I called 7:00 to have my air conditioner fixed. They guaranteed to come between 10-12 I waited in the house for 5 hrs for them to come and no one showed up or called. When I called the office they said Yeah this will not happen today. Seriously ! That's how to talk to customers and no one called to say they can't come. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. July 30 2019 we called our local co Fras Air for service on our AC. Set up an appointment for next day. Came out 5:45 July 31. As my husband predicted we needed a new blower on the furnace. The technician Chris Locasto gave a price. We agreed to it, gave $100 . He said it would be Tuesday Aug. 6 . On August 7 we called and was told by Jayla would get a call back. No call . Next day Aug 8 got answering machine. Aug 9 I got Jayla again who asked me if I wanted to order the blower !!!!!! Told her I did already!!!!!! Sooo I agreed to order again. After 3 calls the following week it was finally installed Aug 16. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I'm only grateful it wasn't winter. Update: I was contacted by a Customer Service Manager who was truly concerned this happened. We came to an amicable resolution. read more

Don't waste your time calling these people.We contacted them at 4:30 in the morning because we had a broken some pump, a flooded basement, and no hot water. We were told someone would come to the house between noon and 3:00 p.m. After multiple phone calls the plumber arrived at 4:00 p.m. with no sump pump. He assured us that someone else would be coming with a pump and it would be fixed by the end of the day. Needless to say our pump did not get fixed and we still have standing water in our basement. Terrible Customer Service! Tech came out and diagnosed the problem with our central air conditioning unit on July 5, 2018. He did not have the part needed, so he ordered it. We were told it would be in the next day. On July 6th, we received a call that the serviceman would come on today, July 7th, between 8 - 11am. When this time frame passed and no one showed up, we called to find out that "someone" canceled our order and appointment. We never canceled this order - why would we during a heat wave? To make matters worse, the phone rep could not tell us who canceled it or when it was canceled, only that no one was coming today. Really? Save your time aggravation, and find a more reliable company to do the work! read more

I have an older HVAC unit and a new one for the second floor. The new one has an issue and is scheduled for repair next week but the older unit went bad last Friday. I called Fras Air and they were so responsive on a hot, humid day. Will, a tech, and Don, from sales, came out. Will diagnosed the issue and quickly repaired it. Don provided some great pricing for a new unit and they are very flexible with their purchase price versus the Advantage, which is like a lease. This is a good company and are honest and transparent. I would recommend them for any service requests or new systems! read more

I called them because my air conditioner was not working. The technician arrived and was professional. However, he didn't check my second unit. I went with them and they installed my first unit. I didn't know I had two separate units. I complained that my first floor was still not cooling. They came to check and told me my second unit which I didnt know existed was also broken. Hence, I was upset. They should have checked both units but told me it was highly unlikely for two units to break at the same time. Anyway, went with Mann Heating for my second unit and they were 900 dollars cheaper for the same seers. Google both brands and found that Mann unit was the better quality. I'm grateful I went with the second company for the second unit. Just wished I would have used them for both. I hope this review can save some one else money that I lost. read more

Called them for a plumbing issue and an air conditioning issue. The plumber was not good. He couldn't figure out why my bathtub was draining so slowly. The HVAC tech had an attitude problem. I then requested a call for follow up work and they never returned my calls. I'm done with them. read more

This week a tech came for a general maintenance. He was not qualified to check the PSI of my unit. Didn't know how to do it. He had no coolant with him. They said they would be back the next day between 4 and 7. No one showed. Called at nine and rescheduled for next day between 2-4. Again no one showed. I have to say. Fras air conditioning section. Has been nothing but professional. My central air unit blew out and it's 20+ years old. Fras came out and gave me the lowest price to replace whole entire unit as opposed to others who wanted 2-3 thousand more just to replace parts of it. When then came out one piece wasn't compatible through no fault of theirs, they scoured all their resources looking for exact part or something comparable and in the meantime gave me a window ac unit to use till they could install the central air. They kept me in the loop every step of the way and explained what was happening in detail and they were professional and polite and I'm glad we went with them. read more
