The donuts were delicious and of course I had to get the whale-shaped one! The cream in the cream puff was probably the best I've had. And the lady who makes the donuts was very kind and helpful. They had a lot of ocean themed trinkets and goodies. The only addition I wish they'd have would be espresso to make lattes versus just drip coffee. Pretty disappointing experience @ Safeway in Newport, OR…read more This store was a ghost town with a lone employee and maybe one or two other customers. It was on the smaller side of Safeway stores, but clean and organized throughout. We stopped here on Sunday afternoon, St. Patrick's Day to get a sweet treat. The bakery section was underwhelming to say the least. They only had 3 or 4 containers of sugar cookies with key lime icing, one container of pistachio pound cake slices, and one decent looking slice of a layered cake with the holiday theme and I was interested in the latter, BUT the top wasn't shut and securely sealed to the bottom. So yeah, no one wants that. The only employee present in the store eventually showed up to the only lit register for us to purchase what we settled for, which was a small container of assorted cookies and a pint of ice cream. On the plus side, the Safeway gentleman was a decent fellow and friendly enough.
