I arrived for a late lunch around 2 pm. It was fairly busy, especially for mid afternoon. I ordered a veggie Horseshoe, with extra cheese. The cheese sauce is incredible, I definitely recommend ordering extra cheese. The Horseshoe was excellent! Service was very fast and super friendly. My meal was huge and I took more than half home in a box. Besides their famous Horseshoes there were many other menu items I would like to try. There are many vegetarian selections on the menu. I'll definitely return here the next time I am in Springfield.

We had dinner last night had the chicken bacon sandwich on a ciabatta roll, the Philly cheesesteak shoe, and the whole fried catfish for dinner. We were disappointed with the taste of the food that was served. The chicken sandwich was OK, the cheesesteak shoe was bland and the catfish, although the breading was tasty the fish was mushy and tasted like dirt. The people in the service were fantastic!

One person was served a pizza that was so burnt the waiter actually asked if she still wanted it. Bold strategy. The open-faced beef sandwich came with cold mashed potatoes. Apparently, the overabundance of salt was supposed to make up for that. The walleye was OK, so at least one meal escaped relatively unscathed. Our waiter also mixed up the orders. Even though only one person ordered a horseshoe without bread, somehow both horseshoes arrived breadless. A special request to hold the bacon on the potato skins was also overlooked. Then came the checks. Those were apparently shuffled just for fun, and one person never received any change from a cash payment. We figured the waiter must have thought he had earned a 30% tip. He had not.

The bartenders were fantastic and the atmosphere there is exactly what I want out of an Irish pub. I wish I'd taken pictures, but I got carried away with having such a good time that we forgot. We also ended up finishing a bottle of Jameson by paying for four shots, and got to sign it! (That's a tradition --- finish a Jameson bottle, sign it, and they put it on the wall). This couple with 2 corgis comes in, same people from buzz bomb, and obviously my dog is interested as is theirs. Their dog barked first*****, so mine barked after, duh. So a bartender came up to us (group of 10-12) and said if my dog barked again, we needed to leave. I asked another bartender why because the other couples dog barked first and his response was "well they come in weekly" ahhhh sooo it's okay since they patron there often and we don't as much. Although, their dog started it everytime?? So I was saying goodbye to my family and ANOTHER bartender came up saying we had to leave and don't come back. TRUST!!! We won't!! AFTER clyde and I left, the bartender told my brother in law that he told us to leave 3x which literally did not happen!! He told me the one time and we left. So please!! Roll the footage on that one I would love to see it. The bartender tried fighting my brother in laws dad after nasty comments were made about my niece.
