I bought a container full of buckeyes and my son wanted pieces of milk chocolate and some gummy nerds. Our group had a blast reminiscing over different candy. The guy working was helpful and enjoyed talking about their products. The inside was bright and appealing. Toledo overall was pretty boring, but this place was a great stop and they were open pretty late! If you're in Toledo this is a must stop. Thanks guys!

Maumee Valley Chocolate and Candy is wonderful…read more We were walking along the riverfront park and I saw a sign that said chocolate, so I walked over here to check it out. This store has so much candy! Lots of retro candy, plenty of foreign candy (multiple flavors of Kit Kats including flavors of chunky kit kats, hi chews and some other Asian candies (a bunch of options, but I can get all of them in Chicago's chinatown so I didn't pay attention), Aero bars, Terry's oranges, and other British candy. There were so many retro candy options, plus every kind of candy you've ever heard of. (I eat too much candy, and know a lot of types of candy and I was blown away by the options). They also had lots of types of pop, but I didn't pay much attention to them. I wanted my sugar in chocolate form. I am a chocoholic, and I was very happy to find this place. I got some creams from the case (dark chocolate raspberry cream, orange cream, strawberry cream, vanilla cream). They were delicious. These are better than my former favorite Fannie May (which sadly isn't as good as it used to be). I also got some chocolates in the bulk chocolate section. The chocolate covered cherries are amazing as is the chocolate covered orange peel (though jellier than I was expecting inside). The chocolate covered pecans are fine (but I don't usually get these so maybe chocolate covered pecans aren't my thing). The store is cute! It had a Lego Willy Wonka set! This place is in a good location. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The flavor was bright and refreshing, with just the right amount of lavender. It tasted distinctive without being overpowering. I also tried another flavor with chocolate and vanilla, although I cannot remember its name. That one was delicious too. The ice cream was rich, creamy, and clearly made with quality ingredients. Blank Slate has a wonderful selection of creative flavors that feel a little more special than what you find at a typical ice cream shop. I highly recommend stopping by if you are in Ann Arbor, especially for the lemon lavender.

That's all I needed was to find more amazing ice cream in Michigan that I can't take home with me. I'm also never in Ann Arbor so that doesn't help I tried fresh basil ice cream. It was drizzled with lemon olive oil. The most amazing and unique flavors. They have butterfly moon, not blue moon. While blue moon tastes like fruity pebbles, butterfly moon tastes exactly like froot loops and is even the color the milk turns when you have a bowl. Service was friendly and didn't mind us trying lots of samples. How can you not when they're all so amazing and unique !!
