I was skeptical of a strip mall ice cream spot, but their selection and portion sizes won me over. I appreciate the free samples they offered so I could make the right decision. I forget what flavors I got because I had a lot of ice cream on my trip back to Ohio, but Toft's was definitely the best.

We decided to give it a shot and were pleased with our choice. Scooter's offers a wide variety of ice cream in both dairy and non-dairy varieties (contrary to the dairy bar name) for incredibly reasonable prices. The serving sizes were generous and the staff was super friendly. The parking situation isn't the greatest; however, there is a large lot just across the street that you can stop in to run over and get your treats. Check it out if you're in the area and craving the nostalgia of a small town ice cream shop

This is an old-fashioned side of the road ice cream stand that has whatever you could dream of - hard ice cream and soft serve and so many food items from hotdogs to walking tacos to shredded chicken sandwiches to fried mushrooms and so much more. I personally am a soft serve girl and there are very few flavor combinations in this world that I love more than peanut butter and chocolate. On this my most recent trip this summer, I had the Nutter Butter sundae. The Nutter Butter sundae is Chocolate ice cream topped with peanut butter fluff, peanuts, whipped cream, a cherry and a Nutter Butter cookie. I'm sure you can tell by the description that this was a sugar overload, but delicious. I also got a pup cup for my pup, which is a small bit of vanilla ice cream with a dog treat on top. The ice cream was delicious and we had really good service my only gripe is the prices are a bit high. I paid $2.50 for a dog cup of ice cream - I just remember when that used to be like $.50 but I guess that's inflation for you. Overall, this is a great place with good ice cream and a nostalgic feel.
