40 Years of Business... and Zero Customer Service Skills Well, it finally happened--we've hit our limit with this place. After being loyal customers since moving to Sussex, we've officially lost our appetite... for the rudeness, not the pizza. Let's start with the little guy behind the counter. He's got all the warmth of a brick wall and clearly believes being busy is a license to be disrespectful. Apparently, "customer service" wasn't part of the family legacy. Tried to call in an order--no one answered. When they finally did, I was put on hold for 12 minutes... then forgotten. Fine, I figured I'd drive over. Placed the order in person and was told it'd be ready in 30 minutes. Guess what? It wasn't. Why? Because the girl behind the counter forgot to submit it. Her response? Not "I'm so sorry," but "It's the day before a holiday, we're busy." Translation: Too bad, not our problem. Meanwhile, Mr. Little Owner Man stood a few feet away, heard the whole thing, and said... absolutely nothing. When I asked him if this is how they treat loyal customers, he proudly declared, "We've been in business for 40 years and never had a problem." Oh, honey. YOU are the problem! Maybe no one's told you, but longevity doesn't cancel out bad behavior. Keep treating people like they're lucky just to be let through the door, and eventually, they'll stop walking through it....You just lost two very loyal customers who tolerated your numerous messed-up orders, and by reading your reviews, I see we are not alone in our experience. What happened? Came here early last year, best pizza around, family has been going for years .... The end of 2025 and early 2026 it's not the same.... Pizza has no sauce, no taste and the dough is not the same....flavorless cardboard....ordered a pizza and was told 20-25 minutes.... Came in at 20 min...It was not busy at all, there was one table that was leaving as we walked in...after about 5 or so minutes standing at the counter as the girls and a male worker were talking and giggling and looking at us one of the girls came over and asked if we were being helped... We said we placed an order and she takes a box off the top of the oven.... Opened it in the car and it was obviously sitting there for a while, the cheese was congealing, it was lukewarm and it was all grease in the box from when when it was apparently hot at one time... The Chicken Parmesan Dinner with Vodka Sauce was fantastic, and definitely one of the best we've had in the area. The Plain (Large) pizza was good but a little bit too much cheese, but now that we know we will order light cheese next time. The Grilled Shrimp Salad I wasn't a fan of, it was just chopped iceberg and romaine with really big clunky slices of tomatoes and having them not put the dressing on the side was kind of a bummer as my salad was soggy when it got here. Hopefully the owners take these reviews into consideration and start putting the dressing on the side as no one likes a soggy overdressed salad. We will try it again next time but I'll probably order a pasta or something instead of the salad. We ordered through door dash for delivery. read more

Did a little Sussex county pizza tour this morning with my son. Frank's was the final stop. Guy behind the counter was very uninterested but I sure he would've rather been somewhere else. Grabbed two plain slices extra crispy. The pizza smelled amazing and the sauce was very tasty to me, good crisp to the slice and a firm crust to it that cracked when you bit into it. A little greasy but not too crazy. I really enjoyed this slice but It was however the most expensive of the three places we went today by almost $.50 per slice so I think there is better out there for the $$. Probably the worst customer counter service experience I've ever had at a pizzeria. You hire a company to deliver your food but your counter workers can't keep up or tell the pizza maker guy/cooks what needs to be made and to be delivered. What kind of pizzeria counter worker tells a delivery company that you pay!!! To tell the customer to ask for a refund? Also this was noted on file with the third party company. Take note I was there for over 40 minutes. Tip: Hire new counter workers! I give credit to the pizza maker guy working hard but your workers aren't doing their job! read more

I was here when I was 18 years old and said to the girlfriend who brought me here "this is the best pizza I've ever had". Haven't been there since because I don't live in the area and am now gluten intolerant. 14 years later I come to the area to stop into Roaming Acres farm and then to the meat market in the Wantage plaza, an hour from home. I see the same place I had the best pizza I've ever had - Frank's. Now being gluten free I almost cried when I realized I couldn't have the pizza again. So my 4 year old asked if he could have pizza, thinking I could get myself a salad. Low and behold they make gluten free pizza. And let me tell you, their gluten free IS the best gluten free pizza I have EVER had in the 10 years I've been gluten intolerant. And I've had a lot of GF pizza. The crust is AMAZING, their sauce hasn't change, by far the best pizza sauce in the world, they load it with cheese and the portion is huge. At only $12.95 you cant go wrong. I ordered a grilled chicken Caesar salad no croutons sauce on the side I asked him if he could make the salad like one of those salads with all the vegetables cucumbers onion roasted peppers etc. a regular grilled chicken Caesar salad was 1150 he charged me over $15 to add extra vegetables. Last straw cheeseburger deluxe came without the deluxe paid $10.95 for a burger only - meatball parm sub was fine - penne vodka chicken parm dinner with side side salad and ranch dressing on the side. What what we got was penne with a kind of alfredo Sauce they added red gravy to, chicken had Massive gristle on it and salad came with an Orange dressing on the salad. So I call and explain the situation with the burger and ask for a refund because there was no fries and no lettuce, tomatoes or onion. I asked them to charge for the burger only. It was 8:50 pm and they close at 9pm. The owner first tells me I didnt order a deluxe which pisses me off because I did. The person taking the order was clearly new and should not have been on the phone. I asked him to repeat the order which included the deluxe part. So owner tells me to come in tomorrow and they would refund the difference, no we are not coming in tomorrow you can do it over the phine. I give you the numbers you punch them in. He tells me the register is closed. It was 8:50 not 9pm. So for the aggravation he caused and my disgusting penne dinner and all the above mentions we will not be going back. I always give 3 chances. That was the third time. That order number was #29 and cost us $50.00 plus a $4.00 tip. I gave them 2 stars because we have ordered sicilian pizza in the past that was very good with a crunchy bottom and crust. read more

I'm extremely grateful this business is open during Covid. During my 9 year Army career, anytime I took leave to Wantage/Sussex, I made sure this was one place I would go. Being a New Yorker, I preferred their pizza over anywhere else in the Wantage/Sussex area. I've left great reviews before. This last time was a bit of a downer. The pizza was extremely soggy and flimsy. For the price I paid and from my previous experiences I was a bit shocked. I love the food here, but the staff is the problem. I am a 14 year old kid, and I went to Franks and ordered 2 slices and a root beer. I smiled at the man behind the counter and asked him how he was. I always try to be friendly people like him. The guy behind the counter told me the total was $6.94, but he said it very quietly because I was already reaching out to give him a $10 bill. He handed me back a dollar bill, along with a nickel and a penny. I didn't think much of it at the time, because he had said the total quietly. He walked over to his co-worker while the slices were heating up, and they both turned and looked at me, smirking. The man then gave me my two slices and drink, and I left. When I got in the car, I handed my dad the change. "$1.06 back, that was expensive!" I then realized that the change I was given was incorrect. We came up in the area for a family day. We stopped here before we continued on our day, and let me tell you how darn good this pizza was. The sauce to cheese ratio is unbeatable, and the crust is the best part. Our pizzas were hot and fresh and truly delicious. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is because when we walked in (my siblings and mother had not walked in with my boyfriend and I) my boyfriend and I were checking out the different pizzas and we were not greeted in the nicest way. The person explained she was overwhelmed because she was busy so I get it, but it still wasn't appreciated. Frank, however, I learned is from Brooklyn (no wonder his recipe is delicious). This time I ordered a sandwich I got a salad which was essentially lettuce with a piece of chicken and the pasta with chicken had the wrong chicken. This was the last time we'll deal with them. Who doesn't like Franks? Best variety of specialty slices in Sussex County. Their calzones & strombolli are delicious too, but where they excel is catering. I had them cater my wife's 40th surprise party & they packed the trays to the brim & the price was better than any of the other local restaurants in the area. Always a safe bet when you're unsure what to eat, because you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. One suggestion would be to change the receipe to your garlic knots. If Franks is a franchise restaurant, why are the garlic knots at Franks in Rockaway SO much better than in Wantage? You gotta ask or steal their receipe... trust me. read more

The people who work uere are rude and the food has gone downhill because they're always rushing. When you call ahead of time for a to go order, they don't start making it until you get there a half hour later, and then give you attitude when you're angry with the wait. Frank's Pizza is great tasting pizza, no doubt. However, after what I witnessed today, I'll have to find another place for our go-to pizza cravings. My husband called the order in and the young man that answered the phone, had a "thug-ish" tone, using "man" and "bro" while talking to him. I understand a small town mentality, but this is ridiculous. I arrived at the shop 15 mins after my husband called. I was told it would be about 10 minutes. I payed for my pizza and had a seat and watched the employees work. The young man that took my payment, proceeded to make garlic knots (tie the dough by hand) I noticed another employee making the exact pizza that we ordered. (They didn't make the pizza until I came into the restaurant.) I didn't realize this until I saw them take the pizzas out of the oven and put them in the box to hand to me. Back to my time waiting for my pizza to cook, I witnessed the young man making garlic knots take 6 people's orders and forms of payment (cash and credit), then proceed to make garlic knots and press dough into pans, by hand, without washing his hands. Also, these forms of payment, and receipts were handed over a freshly made pizza, only half covered by a glass counter top. I'm no clean freak, but I'd rather not have dirty dollar bills shaken out over my pizza. The waitress, proceeded to walk through the prep area (also where pre-cooked pizzas, ready to be sold by the slice) while stuffing food into her mouth, then when finished chewing, delivered salads to customers. Again, without washing her hands. The icing on the cake was when the young man twirled up a piece of dough and tried to whip the waitress' backside with it, then continued to press it into a pizza dish and cover with plastic wrap. I have loved Frank's for the past 20 years, but this is unacceptable. I was there for 10 minutes and what I saw, I wanted to never set foot in there again. read more
