It's been a few years since we got delivery from Macopin Pizza, and it's not how I remember it. We ordered a pizza and garlic knots and were told it would be delivered in 45 minutes. An hour and 15 minutes later, we called back and were told it was on its way. Within about 10 minutes, the driver arrived. He explained that they were really busy and he was the only driver. While this may be true, that's a terrible way to run a business. If you can't staff appropriately, then don't make promises you can't keep. We finally tried the pizza and while the taste was reminiscent of good pizza, it had clearly been sitting on the warmer for too long. The crust and garlic knots were hard and chewy. Meh.. not the best pizza I've ever had but also not the worst. It was a toss up between 2 or 3 stars. Wish I could give 2 and a half but that's not an option. This is a tough area to get a good slice of pizza so considering the options in the area, it's fairly decent. The delivery was brought in a timely manner but pizza was a little disappointing. Main reasoning is the crust and sauce. The crust was way to thin and the sauce was basically nonexistent. The cheese was kinda off as well. Kinda just reminded me of heated up frozen pizza. I might consider this place again or get a different type of pie. Figured we'd start out with a basic cheese pie though and go from there. Maybe we'll give it a second chance. I loved Macopin Pizza. I'm normally very happy with their food. Unfortunately, I decided to order a grilled cheese and I was extremely disappointed. It was made on a long roll and cheese was just slapped on and it was hardly melted. No butter was used and it was not truly GRILLED. Hence the reason it's called GRILLED CHEESE. This place gets an "A" for their CALZONE. Best calzone I've ever had. Their pizza is average and I haven't tried their main dishes. They cheap out on their ingredients a few years ago and several customers complained. They brought back the good stuff and the calzones were back to being the best. There's over 15 pizza spots closer than Macopin for me and I continue to come for their calzone! read more

This is New York Style done right and that's just the start. They have thrown in extras many times at no cost. They know my dangerous county road. They are clean, they will do special things like assemble a dish so you can cook it later. It's spotless, they deliver fast. There is no better New York style in the nearby. Can never ever go wrong ordering here. They even have one or two nice ice creams treats but wish I knew somewhere to get real Italian Ices. It would require another freezer don't even know if there are vendors anymore. Then I could travel all the way back to my childhood. Had two simple warmed up slices today and it was perfect. Cannot rave enough to do them justice, if you don't live nearby they are worth the trip, the food is good but it's a pizza place that happens to have better food than many restaurants. We just moved to West Milford this summer & spent quite a bit of time finding "our new" pizza place. Macopin Pizza definitely fit the bill. My boyfriend actually ordered from their twice in one day during his last football Sunday party. We've ordered several kinds of pizza, spinners (so yummy), and some of their catering food too. Everything has been really great. The crust on their pizza is thin & crunchy, and they really load on the toppings. We were at a dance competition in West Milford and relied on Yelp to find a place to eat and what a find it was! The grilled chicken salad with iceberg lettuce was huge. Macopin Pizza is a small, hole in the wall place in the middle of no where in the wilds of the Apshawa section of West Milford. However, over the past few years I have grown to love this place and consider their cheese pie to be the best in North Jersey. and I have tried dozens of pizza joints. To begin with, Macopin Pizza is a Mom and Pop operation, NOT a franchise. In this case it's actually a Mom and Daughter operation with Kinnelon residents Lorraine and Lora Covello making the majority of the good. Although I usually stop for pizza, I have tried some of the other items and all were top notch. They also deliver. Nothing fancy inside... I've been buying pizza from this joint since they were still called Tony's. The current operation makes a very good pizza, and the pasta is also quite good by my standards. The owner is very friendly and supports local fundraisers and events. Even after leaving town for several years, she recognized me as soon as I walked in the door. They usually do throw in an 'extra' appetizer, depending on what they have already made. The prices are better than Vesuvio's (for the same or even better quality) and they are more convenient than AJ's pizza down the mountain. Hands down the best pizza in West Milford. The owner is beyond sweet, the pizza is perfect. Thin bottom, thick crust, and lots of cheese. If you pick up in person towards the end of the night they always throw an extra goodie in the bag. read more
