My wife and I picked up a medium ham and pineapple pizza along with some "Frankie's fries" from Frankie's Pizza on our last evening in Hawaii. The fries were made-to-order and were piping hot when we received them. The outside of each fry had a nice crisp to it and the inside was very fluffy. None of the fries ate oily. We opted to have Italian sausage and red marinara sauce over the fries. The sausage was well-seasoned, and I especially liked the strong fennel flavor. The cold marinara sauce is ladled over the hot fries, resulting in a warmed up sauce that's enjoyable to eat. For the pizza, I appreciate the use of large pineapple chunks that were neither too sour, nor too sweet. The crust is on the thinner side and has a good chew to it. The pizza is baked a bit on the pale side and could spend a bit more time in the oven, but the taste was there. They definitely use a generous amount of mozzarella cheese on their pizzas here. Overall, I would take Frankie's Pizza over a pizza from a chain any day. read more

My kids really wanted pizza though so we ordered 2 small pepperonis and a medium spicy Ricky Boi Special, and medium hamburger steak pizza. Tasted freezer burn in both medium pizzas. I came across Frankie's Pizza after Yelping for a place for lunch. My boyfriend and I had just got done with some long walking around Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. It was such a wonderful couple of hikes that left us hungry and ready for some food! Frankie's Pizza was the first pizza place that came up. There is limited parking in the front of the building and it is located on a main road; Siri directed us to a road that is behind Frankie's Pizza. When we got out of the car, I found the place to appear small. I was correct in my thinking once we'd walked in. Frankie's Pizza has a very plain interior. When you walk in, you immediately notice there is no seating within the building. This was slightly disappointing as you can order a hot pizza. You can order a pizza to take home to bake yourself and that will actually cost you a dollar less. My boyfriend and I wanted the pizza hot and ready to go; we didn't want to have to drive 25-minutes to our AirBnB. The wait was not long. We got a medium pizza with normal crust, red sauce, mozzarella, spinach and mushrooms. We also ordered a side of Alfredo fries. We were pleasantly surprised that it only took fifteen minutes for our order to be ready! After collecting our order, we decided to just eat in the car. I've got to admit, the Alfredo fries were slightly disappointing. The fries themselves were pretty good. There were so few fries though and the Alfredo sauce was okay. It lacked some flavor and the fries were swimming in the sauce that almost looked more like a glaze. We did eat all the fries, but mostly out of hunger. The pizza was eons better! The bottom of the crust was very crunchy and the proportion of it to sauce and toppings was ideal. Loved the flavor of the mozzarella! Overall, Frankie's is a great place to grab pizza. Not sure I'd recommend the Alfredo french fries. If you're needing something to go, this is great! If you're looking for a sit-down, this isn't the place, but it definitely should still be considered! The pizza was very very good! read more

They have a couple by the slice options and both of the types they had were excellent one had an Alfredo sauce with crispy chicken on the top that tasted like kalua pork it was amazing. Take cash for tips! I always forget their CC machine doesn't take them. We continue to get consistently delicious pizzas from here and last night was perfect again! Bacon was crispy, good flavor to the sausage, and you could taste the fresh mushrooms. The mozzarella was the perfect consistency and there was just the right amount of Alfredo sauce. The pictures posted here donor compare to the quality of the pizza. The vegetable ingredients are fresh and the pizza dough is somewhat savory! The pepperonis are in the smaller size but I love that they are the ones that curl up around the pepperoni when cooked. The service is friendly. I really enjoyed my pizza fresh, room temp (sitting for half hour, AND microwave reheated the next day. My ONLY sadness is the small sprinkle you get for additional toppings. At $2 each, I would like more than a pinch. I added on 4 extra toppings and wasn't thrilled with the additional charge just to say it was on the pizza. For example only 2/8 slices had a leaf of spinach. Garlic was spread evenly and the other two toppings were sparse, so if you really like a certain ingredient, double up to ensure you get a little on every slice. My husband stopped by Frankie's and oh my goodness, it's really great pizza!! It's like a little secret tucked away in Mountain View!
