Worst dish was the FAT MAG - beef & pork ragu, basil & parmigiano...the sauce was burnt. Our server had the kitchen make us another one but since I suspect the main pot of ragu sauce was burnt as the second dish still tasted burnt. I remember this place when it was under a different name 7 years ago. It was amazing then. It is even more amazing now! Went for New Year's Day brunch. It was fantastic. The service was impeccable. Dream h toast perfect , carbonara pasta with poached egg to die for. Breakfast pie super yummy, and you can't go wrong with the baked meatballs and egg. It comes with amazing roast potatoes( crunchy and creamy) and a perfectly dressed salad of radicchio and arugula. Get here early to get a seats. Not sure they take reservations for brunch. read more

Love this place. Not sure why I haven't reviewed it already. We've been for both brunch and dinner. The back patio is lovely. I recommend sitting out there if a table is available. We usually have the baked eggs with eggplant at breakfast. It's amazing. So flavourful. Comes with toasted Italian bread. Sandwiches on that bread are fantastic. Pizzas, especially the carmelized onion, also amazing. That thin crust with the charred pieces...yum. My husband always gets the mixed mushroom pasta. It's filling, and oh so tasty. Well, what can I say about a chance visit that put a smile on both my daughter and myself after a disastrous try at Barrio's and The Roy. A young man, Jin, greeted us with a pleasant smile. He assisted us with the stroller and promptly brought us a highchair for my granddaughter of 15 months. Given a chance to go over the menu, Jin returned for our order. We had some questions and Jin provided some great suggestions. We were treated to some of the best pasta, meat sauce with a mound of parmigiana cheese to which we hadn't experienced in a long time. Even my granddaughter was lapping it up. We were contemplating some dessert when Jin came to our table and presented us with their awesome Tiramisu to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We ordered for delivery and the food was packaged with care. We enjoyed our pepperoni pizza but we felt that it was too thin. On average a 4. Ordered the Real Meal Deal Steal. Good portions, could definitely feed two reasonably hungry people. The food was kind of uneven. The Po Bianco was lovely and fresh and buttery garlickly goodness, the Spicy Bee Pizza was delightful. I had the fat Mac with Beef and Pork Ragu, it just ok and the pasta was over done. Also had the Kale Ceasar Salad, just ok, similar to what you might get at a fast food place. The pasta is home made so they only have 3 a day to choose from. But for $13-15, I would argue it's a better deal than most Italian places in Toronto. The pasta was good except that the sauce was really runny and there was a pool of it sitting in the bottom of my plate. Wasn't really sure what to make of that. I didn't love that they put prosciutto on top of their pizza prior to baking - so that the meat came out fully cooked. I think prosciutto should be placed on pizza after cooking. Also, I didn't love that our server was too busy flirting with a table of four girls and took forever to take our order. For the price, I would come back and try something else. read more

The space was newly refreshed, and the service was great as usual. They have great options on the menu and at an affordable price for Italian comfort food. I know they are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but we only dined during dinner. My husband and I opted for their daily $10 pasta specials which is a steal. There were 3 pasta options to choose from when we went, and we ordered their cassarecce and fusilli. Both pasta dishes were delicious and pasta was cooked to al dente. This is my favourite brunch place the food is soooo goood and you have to try the Spanish coffee!! I definitely recommend the eggs Benedict, French toast ( with Nutella drool) and pancakes!!! I wish they served the Spanish coffee all week but I think it is just the weekends. The pizza bread appetizer with bean dip was quite good. The mushroom pizza and the pasta special were also good. Especially good was the fact that they give you normal size servings - not some oversized dish like so often seems the case. And normal size portions meant we had room for dessert. Which was tiramisu. The cookies were maybe a little soggier than they should have been but overall very well done. This main negative about the restaurant is that as it fills up it gets LOUD. As in our ears were ringing on the way home loud. Some noise and chatter is nice but this was a bit too much. I found the sauce in both the lamb malfadine and the pizza too acidic/unbalanced, and the pizza could have used more seasoning but the crust/bread was fluffy and good. We were hankering for pizza last night and wanted to order local. Frankie's was some of the best pizza I've of that type in a while. We ordered the caramelized onion pizza and it was ready in 15 mins(!) which blew us away, since we were straight up hangry. Pizza crust was beautifully blistered, chewy and seasoned well. Setting off the rich generous cheese and sweet caramelized onions was a sprinkle of finishing sea salt and spicy red pepper flakes, coming together for a rich, cheesy, salty and mildly spicy flavour bomb (also something a little crunchy which highlighted the gooey cheese). Have eaten here in the past and it was fine...this time around I called to place a pick-up order since I live close by. Was left on hold permanantly, after 15mins I hung up. Tried calling back several times only to receive voice mail. I walked to the restaurant to place my order. The order was filled quickly...however when we sat down to eat, the food was cold (I live a block away). The gnocchi was totally raw inside and the pizza seemed to be old and the cheese on top was not melted at all. I returned the food and got the spaghetti with lemon. Both orders were very small and tasteless. Staff were very apologetic which I appreciate...though I doubt I will return. read more

I had a gift card and used it to get takeout here with no expectations. We tried the margherita pizza, added pepperoni for the kids and the mushroom pasta and the ragu. The pasta with ragu was fantastic. Delicious pasta, perfectly al dente and the sauce is so craveable. Totally delicious and rich.
