The Living History tour summoned us for a first time visit to Natchez. We wanted to see what the TikTok hype was about at Frankie's so we made lunch reservations for four. First, the location is perfect - central to shopping and several tour homes. The interior is creative and beautiful with vibrant colors and interesting art throughout. We were there for lunch, but the bar area looked like a great place for a drink. The food was amazing - quality food with some unique selections - definitely chef worthy. The portions were also substantial. I highly recommend giving Frankie's a try. So why the two stars? I rarely take the time to give an eatery a less than 4-star review, but the service experience should be honestly noted. We were one of the first to arrive well before the lunch crowd, and slightly earlier than our reservation. They seated us right away. There was only one or two other tables seated before us. We received our appetizers promptly and then waited ONE HOUR AND 20 MINUTES for the main course to arrive. We went quite some time without explanation. When the delay reached an absurd amount of time, the waitress eventually ask okwedged the situation and apologized. She explained that the kitchen had 2 other "events" to manage and were overwhelmed. They must have been offsite events since there were not any large groups in the dining area and the vault dining room was empty. The main dining room filled up while we were waiting, but food was not coming out of the kitchen. Our waitress seemed to go to the kitchen several times to check on our food. We completely missed the 1:00 tour and was worried we were going to miss the 2:00 tour. We finally had to ask if we needed to wrap up without eating so we wouldn't miss a second tour. A waitress cannot help what the kitchen is doing or not doing. She seemed genuinely distressed. Now here's the kicker... the owner Frankie himself passed by our table no less than 20 times. Each time he looked at our table without food and made zero eye contact. It was obvious that he knew we had been sitting for an extraordinary amount of time and that the waitress was trying to get some help, but his emotions appeared completely indifferent. If our business as tourists were important to him, it sure didn't feel like it. This was shocking to us, so we had to look up his photo to make sure this was indeed Frankie. Did he need to talk to us? No, but it sure would have been nice. What was shocking was his willingness to lay the burden of this service debacle on the shoulders of the wait staff. Rather than help her manage customer expectations and help the kitchen or tables, he just watched. We did notice numerous "to-go" orders going out the door sporadically while we waited. When our plates finally arrived, we slammed them quickly. It would have been nice to savor the meals after all of that wait, but we simply did not have the time. Our wait person apologized to us again on our way out. We are gracious and patient and know that things can happen that are beyond control. We did not ask for anything to be comped or discounted, but it would have been reasonable to make such an adjustment or maybe offer a free dessert or cocktail at a future visit. We tipped well. And honestly, we felt bad for her and all the others. On our way out, we noticed Frankie behind the bar talking to a couple. He did not acknowledge us as we walked by. read more

What a grand, beautiful dining room created in a former bank. Decorated to the nines for Christmas with live music, this was a charming venue for dinner. Reservations are needed but a kind, personable maitre de found a way to seat and serve us. Even sharing red hots with our crowd. From steaks to bao, the food matched the atmosphere and our waitress who was working her second night was stellar with our party of 8. A must see in Natchez. read more

I have attempted to contact this restaurant multiple times over the past several days, but each call was met with an unusually long prerecorded message. A family member also tried reaching out, as we were hoping to coordinate a surprise celebration for our elderly mother. When I finally reached someone, she was unable to provide any meaningful information about booking the space for a large party. Despite asking several clarifying questions, I received no concrete answers. When I asked who could assist, she provided two names but offered no timeframe for a return call. When I asked whether it might take a week or longer, she confirmed that it could. She also emphasized that the individuals she named were the owners, as though requesting to speak with a manager was unreasonable. I appreciate the young lady for taking my call, but this interaction made my next steps very clear! read more

It is hard to find a restaurant with a great atmosphere, excellent food and good service but this one has all three. Dining in an 1826 bank with live piano music in Natchez is an unforgettable experience. I have tried the Brisket Bao and Salmon which were very good and look forward to trying other dishes. I love that it's not one of those places that's gorgeous but the food sucks. The beauty and style on the outside draws you in and you stay for the history, delicious food and drinks inside. The staff were attentive and fun to talk to. You can absolutely tell they enjoy being there. Even the restroom in this place is beautiful! Literally went to the restroom and then came back to the table to tell my fiancé she needed to go see! You have to stop in and I highly suggest getting their charcuterie tray! Had a wonderful dinner and evening at Frankie's on Main. Every dish was excellent. We started with Boudin Balls that were moist on the inside, filled with pork, and topped with butter pickles. I had an expertly grilled red fish topped with crab meat. My wife had grilled salmon on rice with grilled asparagus. We were seated and served quickly. The interior--a former bank lobby with bank features thoughtfully integrated into the design--is worth the visit on its own. If you're in Natchez, Frankie's won't disappoint. read more

What a gorgeous restaurant! I absolutely loved the architecture and the fact that the design still reflects the history of the building. My family and I came down from Chicago and were greeted by the kind staff. Have eaten and had drinks here many times. Had food and drinks 2 times this past weekend and both were a not a good experience. Food quality has gown down and service was poor. One night it took an hour and a half to get our food, a dry brisket sandwich the next night was 2 hours for a few appetizers. Drinks were great as always, Drinks were 5 star food 2 stars. read more

This was one of the best meals I've ever had. The food was simply amazing. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Frankie himself sat us and was an extremely gracious host. The 19th century bank building makes for an interesting location and is worth visiting just for the architecture and furnishings. The atmosphere and service was very nice. But I experienced something I've never experienced in any restaurant. My wife and I usually split an entree for several reasons but no matter the reason it's my business. We ordered a $20 smash burger (high as all get out by itself). I ordered a smash burger and the waitress asked my wife if she wanted something. She said no, I'm not hungry I'll just eat a little of his. They brought my burger out on 2 plates, cut in half and CHARGED me an EXTRA $10. Please explain how my buddy that was with us paid $20 for the same meal but because the restaurant CHOSE to split my burger in half they charge me $10 extra? read more

A little disappointed, we haven't been here in 20 years and we decided to try this place. We ordered the brisket and the wait staff came back telling they were sold out so we ordered the salmon. This restaurant, and the owner, are a perfect example of Southern charm! Makes you want to move to Natchez. The atmosphere was wonderful and the waitress very helpful in giving suggestions for our group of 4. All of our meals were very good, the music was gentle background and we had a delightful lunch. We also stopped by on a Monday afternoon hoping for a rest and a glass of wine, but they were closed. Bummed...but we sat down on their patio tables to rest a few minutes. The owner was there and came out to visit with us (we thought she would kick us off the patio) and when she heard what we had stopped by for, she even served us a glass of wine! We're in for the weekend from Wiggins ms and we have got to say they have the best cheese cake we've had my wife isn't normally a fan of cheese cake but I had ordered one and she tried it and then we ended up sharing it. Great & fast service. Loved the bartenders we had. We are going to miss them. Me and my wife were talking about driving 3 hours just for drinks and cheese cake. I would highly recommend Frankie's on Main. First it is such a neat place. It was still decorated for Christmas and absolutely gorgeous. We first stopped in for drinks but after talking to everyone and them being so nice we went to dinner. We all ordered the filet which was great but get the potatoes and not the fries. The potatoes are better. The shrimp appetizer was great and the cheesecake was delicious. We really enjoyed it and Frankie was very nice along with his mother. read more

Hot.. hot... hot.. outside and it was highly recommended we visit here.. What a great find. Was in town for the Labor Day weekend and an old high school chum suggested to meet up for lunch. Wonderful ambiance as it was converted from an old bank. Very charming. It has great bar service, a large variety on the menu, and the service and food were outstanding. Will definitely be visiting again when back in town. The place is beautiful! Been there twice and both times food was not great. Tomato soup was thick and tasted like pasta sauce out of a jar. I was told I could substitute 1/2 a wedge for the fries. Then I got the bill and Was cheated $9 for half a wedge. Then I came in for lunch and wanted 1-2 a wedge and she brought me 2 1/2 wedges and said she did not know why the kitchen made 2. Frankie's is still a new restaurant so it didn't show up on Yelp or Google maps when we looked. But we stumbled upon it and were so pleasantly surprised. The building is an old bank from the 1800's, it's been brilliantly and gorgeously re-done. The wait staff were impeccably professional and friendly, much like how customer service used to be. First of all, the service was great, I am in a wheelchair and they had no way to get into the restaurant so they took a table and chair from the porch area and put it on the sidewalk for us to dine. Now for the food. The wine list was not impressive at all. The selection would cost approximately $10-$15 at a wine store. They we're charging $13-$16 for a glass of wine which is what the bottle would've cost second issue. My wife ordered the shrimp grits which had an excellent taste to it except the grits came out stone cold after two trips back to the chef finally came out with a nicely heated bowl of shrimp grits were delicious. I ordered the Smashburger because I really didn't feel like paying $50 for a steak I ordered the Smashburger and it was nothing special that came with two patties. Very little condiments, cheese pickle and it said real onion, but it was I was hard-pressed to find any grilled onion on the burger I had to ask for mayonnaise mustard and t ketchup on the side, this was not a $20 burger I would've been disappointed if it had been a $12 burger. Again the service was excellent. The atmosphere was good, but the food definitely left to be desired and it is overpriced for what you get. read more
