Refusing to hem my dress and I insisted it needed to be done as I have children and I don't want to trip. Then the other dress also needed a hem. I spoke with them in the am and said dresses would be ready later in day but no time. We went at 3pm and only one dress was almost done. But thr other wasn't. I tried on my dress and it was ok. He said he would press them and deliver. Upon delivery I paid him in full. When I opened the bag it was 10000% not pressed and then the other dress the hem was insanely uneven!!! I had tot take one to the cleaners this AM and they pointed out so m ay issues and then the other we are taking to another tailor to fix! Angel was away on business so his daughter was runningring the show. She had me try on each suit and began marking where the alterations were to be made. She never actually wrote them down. There was a charge for the shoulders, a charge for the back, a charge for a sleeve, a charge for the waist, a charge to move a pocket, a charge for the inseam, a charge for a hem. Tit for tat.... When I came back for my fitting, the some of the alterations were done on the incorrect items. I was told I had to pay to alter them as well, despite my protest. When I came back again for a fitting, on one suit jacket, where the Shoulder was corrected, the sleeve was now too short, once again, I can go on and on. She refused to accept responsibility for any errors or miscommunication. There was no reasoning with her. The only response I kept getting was the prices are pre set. RIDICULOUS!!! If I didn't need one of the suits ASAP there would have been war. My final total for three suits was 1200 DOLLARS !!! Had I paid with a credit card this would not have been an issue, my dispute would have taken care of things. However, when I went to give a large deposit which they insisted upon, I asked if they would take cash for a tax discount (a common practice) I was told sure. I was given a 3% discount. I was expecting something in the neighborhood of 10%. After I left I remember there is NO TAX ON Alterations. Once again this very unprofessional, without any business sense, nor customer relations experience sarcastic, know it all would not even consider reasoning. I am very disappointed, with this whole experience, and am considering it i do not get any type of satisfaction, having my attorney bring action against them.

So I did some research for a local tailor and decided to give Vihan a try based on the reviews. What I found was an institution of over 50 years in North Jersey. Vihan Custom Tailors was exactly what I was searching for in a custom shop. First and foremost, Joe was super welcoming and gregarious. I explained I needed a tux for an upcoming wedding and outlined my timing. He was helpful and very accommodating. If I had a dollar for every time Joe said "no problem" to any of my requests, it would have paid for the tux! Just by looking at me, he brought me to the rack with my size to get a good fit. The quality of the jackets was immediately noticeable. All of the blazers were stylish. The process was quick and painless. Next, Joe showed me around the store so I could see the rest of their dapper inventory. We added a shirt and a couple accessories and I was on my way. When my tux came in, I met Vihan, the founder and tailor of the shop. During the fitting, I watched a master in action. My body is on the stockier side so I'm always concerned about the fit of suits. Vihan assured me it wouldn't be an issue. After the fitting, I asked Joe if one of the blazers I liked the previous visit could be ready with my tuxedo on short notice for the rehearsal dinner. As usual, Joe's answer was "no problem!" When the tuxedo and blazer came in I couldn't be happier. I love the quality of the tux. It immediately stood out for the premium material and intricate stitching. Vihan & his team did a fantastic job with the alterations, including to my shirt. The tuxedo was form-fitting and not boxy. I was ecstatic with the fit. During the wedding festivities, I was extremely excited about how well the blazer and the tuxedo looked and felt. Both outfits stood out; especially the tux in a sea of tuxes. Needless to stay I will be going to Vihan for all of my menswear and tailoring needs in the future. Loved getting to know the Joe, Vihan & the team. You'll always be in good hands with them. In the age of department stores, a family-owned, local bespoke tailor is quite the find. I requested working buttonholes for the cuffs on a suit jacket and a sport coat. I also had the…read morecollars lowered for both jackets. Came back 3 weeks and the results were horrendous to say the least. I got a small partial refund when picking up the garments because the owner, Emir, was not in the studio at the time. I emailed and got in contact with Emir requesting additional compensation after I inspected my garments more closely at home. I also had another tailor that I use take a look at the damages. He said the job was rushed and the wrong buttonholes were used. Emir disagreed with my tailor's judgement, writing that I should come in to discuss. It has been a week and he has not informed me of any possible appointments. Here is a technical breakdown of what went wrong. 1. Wrong buttonholes. 2. Buttonholes crooked. 3. Buttonholes not fully cut open. 4. Bad stitching and other faults. 5. Weird spacing. The buttonholes on a suit jacket/sport coat/ blazer should be a keyhole shaped buttonhole (Google Search agrees with me). Comparison pictures attached. Emir said they get various buttonhole requests from retailers and with his "20 years of experience", buttonholes on cuffs do not have to be keyhole buttonholes. I disagree. First problem not using a keyhole buttonhole, it causes puckering of the fabric around it. The buttons have shanks and usually (I mean always) sit in the keyhole so the fabric lays flat. Also the keyhole helps keep the buttons aligned at the end of the buttonhole. I confirmed all my suspicion first with my old alteration tailor and then my bespoke tailor, his response attached. The work done for the suit jacket was the worst job I have ever seen. The person who worked on the jacket kindly left the chalk markings so I can see how distorted and crooked everything was. Spacing was uneven, buttons were sewn on 3 different ways on a single side of the cuffs. Some of the button holes were not fully cut open, about a third of the buttonhole was still closed. They left an inch of the collar not stitched and forgot a spool of threads in the pocket. I saw the work of another employee and it looked fine. Sadly, I do not trust the owner anymore after his comments.

He was responsive, punctual, and said everything upfront. He mentioned that he didn't recommend to do bustle to my wedding dress due to the material. When he came to my apartment and i asked him to cut the hem, he mentioned that I would lose the border, which was a nice pattern. Raised questions in my head, but I agreed (big mistake). Fast forward to when I received the dress, the arm sleeves were still too big, cause he did not alter the armpit area. He didn't know how to do it! Geez, it was 10 days before my wedding day! I luckyly found another tailor who is an expert in wedding dress. Ricky however, took responsible of his lousy job and refunded 75% of my money. Which i appreciate. But ladies, if you're going to alter your wedding dress, for the sake of your sanity, go somewhere else who's an expert in wedding dress.
