Amazing Experience - Highly Recommend…read more I had my surgery at Beach City Orthopedic Sports Medicine, and I couldn't be happier with the care I received. From the moment I arrived, I was treated with respect and kindness. The staff made me feel comfortable right away, and everyone I encountered was professional, friendly, and very respectful. You can truly tell they care about their patients. My surgery on my right hand went smoothly and was a complete success. I've honestly never been to a medical facility where everyone was this sweet and welcoming. I highly recommend this office to anyone dealing with hand or leg injuries. Five stars isn't enough -- if I could give 100 stars, I would.

Our experience at Beach Cities Orthopedics with Dr. Christen Mellano was extremely disappointing…read more We arrived for a scheduled consultation and still waited close to an hour to be seen. What made this worse was watching other individuals who appeared to have a personal relationship with the doctor walk in without appointments and be taken ahead of us. It felt completely unprofessional and disrespectful of our time. When we were finally seen, the interaction did not improve. Dr. Mellano came across as defensive and combative when we asked reasonable questions about our daughter's condition. After reviewing MRIs and X-rays that were ordered through this same clinic, he ultimately said he didn't know what the problem was, suggested her pain (ongoing for over a year) would "eventually go away," and advised us to seek a specialist outside of his clinic. We left with no diagnosis, no treatment plan, and no confidence in the care provided. For a pediatric patient dealing with long-term pain, this level of dismissal and lack of professionalism is unacceptable. I would caution others to read reviews carefully and consider other providers.

It was the worst pain I'd ever felt. Every day activities, including sleeping, were a bit traumatic. I saw three doctors before I saw Dr. Salah, and not one of them was able to diagnose or treat my pain adequately. I later realized that none of them spent the time to understand the issue. Dr. Salah took the time (which is not encouraged nowadays) to analyze my actual issue and provide a course of action that included medication and physical therapy. He absolutely changed my quality of life, and I'm incredibly fortunate to have come in contact with him. Fast-forward: My teenage son is now a basketball/track athlete. Growing bodies and the like are rife for injuries in high school sports. The first person I thought of when my son was injured was Dr. Salah, and this was the absolute best decision. He took the time to get to the bottom of our concerns and created an action plan for recovery. I now have zero worries about my son's ability to stay healthy because he has an advocate in Dr. Salah.

After years of poor experiences with other doctors, Dr. Salah truly changed my perception of patient care. He took the time to thoroughly examine my hand and explain the mechanical issues in a way I could understand. What stood out was his combination of expertise and genuine empathy. He was straightforward about the diagnosis, clear about treatment options, and took time to answer all my questions about potential outcomes. He understood my concerns about surgery and helped me weigh the pros and cons without pushing me in any particular direction. Thank you, Dr. Salah.

He crippled me so severely that I live in agonizing pain every day for the rest of my life. After he did surgery, he should have done an emergency surgery within 48 hours. The problem was obvious and he did nothing, which caused this irreversible severely painful widespread nerve damage. Don't trust him. If you do, you will regret it. I have what is called bilateral foot drop, caused by him installing an artificial disc at L5S1 wrong. Every time I stand my pain level is immediately 10, from the surgery he did in 2006, which is the least of my problems. He put the artificial disc on top of my sciatic nerve. I'm lucky I don't have to wear a diaper for the rest of my life, because that's what usually happens with this kind of problem. He never had to pay the consequences for what he did to me because I was too crippled to go to his trial. I'm too crippled to even use a wheelchair and have to live out the rest of my life in bed. Not long after the surgery I was in his office. He snuck up behind me and quickly jabbed a needle into my back with cortisone. I had made it perfectly clear to him that I had a severe allergy to cortisone. I have an anaphylactic allergy to cortisone and my boyfriend had to rush me to the hospital. He is a dangerous man. Don't be fooled.
