DO NOT USE!!! Had service done on my AC unit. Because I bought the year plan I thought I was signing up for plumbing on my unit. No... they came and checked my home and found a million dollars worth of repairs and made it sould like it was an emergency to have them fixed.Called because my AC was rattling after service they wanted to charge me 89 dollars. Turns out it was a lose screw left behind from the privous technician. Also the side of my AC is now bulging because it wasn't put back correctly. Second technician tighten the screw but never address the side. Got an invoice that was totally incorrect stating the technician discussed how much it would cost to fix what their technician did!!! Never had that conversation. Never received the maintenance on AC that I paid for. Charged 300 dollars for a cylinder booster condenser!!! These guys charged me $40 just to come out and tell me they wanted another $340 + tax to snake my kitchen drain. Keep in mind, I had already removed the trap myself and run my own 15-foot snake through the drain. The pipe coming out of the wall was completely exposed and ready to go. What was needed was basically running a 25-foot power snake down the line -- potentially a 30-minute job. Their price? $340 PLUS TAX -- I sent them on their way. Hopefully this review saves someone else the $40 I spent finding out what they charge. My advice: get a price range over the phone BEFORE having them come out, and specifically ask whether there is a service-call/diagnostic fee if you decline the work. We had a bad storm and lost power in one outlet. Phoned Frank Gay and was told there was a trip charge of around $35 but that it would be waived if we decided to go ahead with the repair. I set up the appointment. Electricians we've had in the past had charged by the hour and that is what we expected. Two technicians arrived, one leader and one in training. Immediately the leader started pitching surge suppressors. We would need two. He hadn't even determined that the storm was in fact the cause of our problem. A meter quickly showed that the problem was not just with the one outlet, but with that entire circuit. Oddly, the GFCI for that circuit was showing a solid green light at the box. At that point we were told there would be a $350+ charge for them to diagnose the problem (which he suggested might be very complicated and possibly serious) and fix it, or we could purchase two surge suppressors at a cost of $1400 which would include everything and provide protection for our home in the future. I should have paid the trip charge. This fee approach was presented to us as different "levels" with charges and discounts that seemed designed to confuse, all prefaced with the suggestion the diagnostic process might be quite complicated. Our house is well built and only 10 years old. We capitulated, ending up agreeing to have the surge suppressors installed. In no short order their diagnosis didn't take long. We a bad GFCI. So it was fixed, and we have protection in the future, but I can't help but feel they arrived with a preconceived concept to sell us the surge suppressors. When I said I would be writing a review online, the lead man immediately suggested I would be "threatening his job, his family and his livelihood". That didn't work. $200 "maintenance plan" doesn't cover fixing anything, just forvthem to come and look. Warrenty on a/c doesn't cover service after 6, so unless you call at 8am, you're paying for service regardless. He opened my electrical panel and stated I should upgrade and purchase a new one, and I am now obtaining estimates and waiting for his. He did correct the one circuit, and I am now able to use the plug outlet, but I need to call another professional to correct the pool pump. He and I did negotiate the price, and he did come down to a more reasonable payable sum, which was a relief. read more

The servicemen were professional. Had plumbing done without any issues. I thought the price was high but they could do it the same day since I had a leak. They proposed to redo all the water lines and since the pipes were 20 years old I decided to do it. They put me on a family plan which included one electrical and plumbing maintenance for free. When they did the electrical maintenance they proposed that I have all new wiring. We had a new electrical panel within the last 3 years. I declined. However I did have a disconnect for the AC done. The charge for that was way too high. I called to get a breakdown by material and labor but they said they did not provide that. I couldn't believe that. So as of today Frank Gay services is still out to rip off the elderly. My mother in law called them because of a leak in her bathroom shower drain. They came up with an initial price of $1100 dollars. I then talked to the technician because the price seemed high but at this point they had increased the price to $1350. Folks this is a mobile home with 89 year old people. Obviously not rich people. I asked why for less than $200 worth of parts and less than two hours worth of work was the price so high. It was blamed on the corporate pricing structure. If you'll notice there are numerous BBB complaints and yelp complaints!!! Gee I wonder why??? I called a handyman total price with doing more than they were going to do, total price out the door $525. If you'll notice decide to use Frank Gay services "Caveat Emptor" Buyer Beware. Stay away call someone else. Do not use these people. They should be ashamed screwing the elderly. read more

Quoted me over $6000 for a standard water heater a toilet repair and rep replacing a kitchen faucet I provided. Had all the work done by another plumber for under $2300. These guys are major rip off artist. And someone else told me they charged them a $1000 to replace a hot and a cold shut off under their bathroom sink. Highway robbery if you ask me. Two years after we had a repair at our home they came after us claiming we never paid. Despite the fact they collect 1/2 before they start and the other 1/2 upon completion. They never contacted Ormond Permit dept. I was charged 10,200.00 . took them 2 days They left things undone. Light fixture /fan & switch ever installed ( Told by electrician they forgot and would get one, never came back), Screws missing from electric box Lucky we used a credit card and I was able to put a dispute or we would have been out of luck. My water bill suddenly increased drastically and stayed up, so I called Frank Gaye for a plumbing consultation. The inspector felt there were leaks in the bathroom showers, so we scheduled the repair. A few days later, Sergio Torres from Frank Gaye repaired the leaks in the pipes behind the wall. Two weeks later, I was still waiting for him to repair the drywall in the laundry room where he accessed the pipes. Four weeks later and there was a new leak, but only after a shower followed by a puddle on the floor afterwards. Mr Torres returned and repaired that leak but would talk to his boss about the situation as he didn't know how to fix it. Still not done. It's now been two months since the first repair and my water bill has not gone down. I still apparently have a leak somewhere, a huge hole in my wall, and a hole in my checkbook to match. read more

I had them out 5 times, my ac unit is 10 years old. Each time they said it was a part which ended up costing me $3850. Then on the last visit they said it was going to cost another $2800 to fix it. Not once did they say hey this part could fix the issue but we cannot guarantee. In the beginning they said that it will be either 2800 to fix a leak or 12k to replace it. Well of course due to financial reasons I chose the lesser of the two. Again thinking it would fix the issue. In the end we did choose to replace it and wish I would have gone with another company. They charged $14K for my small 4 bedroom house less than 1200 sq foot. They did take off the $3800, but they gave me a 9.99% with a credit score of 800 and they said they could not give me the better financing because I got a discount. I also questioned because I was quoted preciously for 12K and called and spoke to the manager and said $3800 from 12k does not equal $10k you are charging me he said that the original quote I got a discount on and he could not give me a double discount. I explained that his cost is double of other companies he laughed. I would not use them. If you do get a second quote! The only reason I have two stars is because one of the service techs and the installers were really nice. read more

Terrible experience for our vacation home. The salesman, Dylan, said that he guaranteed a one day job for all new duct work and AC unit relocation. We only agreed to give Frank Gay Services the job because of this promise of one day because we are on vacation this week for our Anniversary at the location and thought one day is no big deal to take away from our time there, so we hired them. The crew did not complete the job in one day, which was Friday, and couldn't come back to finish until the following Monday. We had to leave the location because we had no AC at all. An hour and half drive to get to our primary home. Monday came, my husband drove back to the location alone. He stayed all day with the crew leaving me behind. By Monday night, the job was still not complete and my husband drove all the way back home again. Tuesday morning, once again, my husband drove all the way back. We are now on day 5 of interrupting our vacation for this company and they still cannot tell us if they will be done by today. They over promised and under delivered. We will never use this company again and I do NOT recommend their services to anyone and will be very vocal letting others know to beware and avoid using this company. I had a great experience today with an HVAC technician from Frank Gay. He was extremely professional, polite, fast and efficient. The price was on the high side but they worked with us to break the work up. Labor is expensive. Good help is hard to find and while they may not be the cheapest in town this is my second experience with Frank Gay and I will continue using them when I can afford to. read more

They entice you to sign up when you try to cancel they won't confirm in writing that you cancel and then they'll continue running your card I tried canceling multiple times and each time they give me a run around I had to change my credit card as a result of this scam. I had a ceiling fan that I wanted to have repaired, so I googled "ceiling fan repair Ormond Beach" and Frank Gay was the top result. I called and explained I wanted to get my ceiling fan repaired, and the scheduler arranged a service call to quote on repairing the ceiling fan. She explained the $39 fee for the service call/diagnosis/estimate. When the technician arrived, I showed him the fan and stated I wanted a quote on repairing it. He immediately replied, "We don't repair ceiling fans...we only replace them." So since he was here, I had him follow through with a quote on replacing the fan, which was astronomical. So I'm perturbed that from my viewpoint, I was charged $39 under false pretenses. This wasn't the technician's fault; he should NOT have been dispatched when the company doesn't even offer the service I requested. Under the circumstances, I believe the right thing to do would be to refund my $39, so I made that request at least three separate times, and it was summarily ignored. wanted over $800 to replace 3 flappers in my toilets. I about fell over and told them no way, I'll just do it myself. I paid $10 a piece for flappers and replaced them myself within 2 minutes. just needed to take old one out and pop new one in. what a bunch of scam artists trying to take advantage of people. The salesman was nice but it was obvious the company forced him to try to sell things like warranties, check ups etc. how these people sleep at night is beyond me. oh, and they constantly send me texts and constant emails trying to sell their product, I wish they would stop. read more

They have not shown up for appointments, connected a new Chandler incorrectly in the switch box to which I had to have them come back out to fix. Presented a "receipt " for my husband to sign for the quick fix they did - which also had a contract attached to it. Had to send certified letter because they won't respond to my email nor have they ever sent the itemized receipt for the work done on the "89 dollar service charge visit " that quickly became a 200 dollar charge. Way way overpriced. Hector was great but Frank Gays prices are out of this world so unless you're rich, don't bother. He used about $5 worth of parts on a 45 minute job and charged me $619. He did fix it, at least so far it's working, so I'll give him that. I should've stuck with my previous electrician but I wanted to shop around...huge mistake this time. Oh, they advertise a $39 diagnostic fee but the second he got started it was $357 fee. Then he found a problem in my fuse panel so he replaced a fuse for another almost $300 fee. AVOID!!! read more
