Glazed Donut Cake Doughnut Croissant Doughnut (Cronut) Raspberry Pretzel
Shanel S.

Be sure to order ahead. You wait until 10A on a Saturday you will be S.O.L.. Cute small bakery right on corner. As is SoPhilly, no parking so eye on your ride or have a friend sit in because you may get a ticket. Big beautiful case displaying donuts and pastries with cakes in the case. Order ahead and be sure to include time. They will be sure you are set. I had the 'Frangelli' which is a cannoli cream filled donut. Delicious. I had a raspberry pretzel... delicious. I had the donut croissant with glaze... delicious. You can't go wrong and when you show up to a SoPhilly home with Frangelli's you are blessed. Yes yes and yes again.

Franolli, Croissant Doughnut (Cronut), Glazed Donut

I ordered the Franolli, Croissant Doughnut (Cronut), and Glazed Donut. Only give a 4 start for the Franolli. I liked the cannoli filling flavors a lot in this donut. The Cronut was extremely dense and tasted a tad underbaked. The glazed donut was decent, but not the best. Everything is definitely made fresh.

The baked goods in my photo tasted fresh, but they left me wanting more flavor. I don't remember the names of most of the treats I got, aside from the donut and cookies, but none of them stood out as memorable. The prices are very affordable. I paid around $8.00 for the entire box. However, I probably wouldn't return since none of the flavors left a lasting impression. On the bright side, the staff was friendly and helpful, and they even gave me a few free cookies, which was a nice touch!

I went around 11a on a saturday and there were w couple donut choices available. I was able to get a dozen (plus 1) for $20! The donuts are fresh, delicious, and the staff were friendly.

On frannoli day they had frannoli for $2 . For my coworkers birthday I ordered vanilla cake with lemon fillings and frosting. Delicious

Jelly donut, Franolli, Sugar Twist, Chocolate Cake, and Glazed.

Some of the best donuts I ever had! The Franolli is a must! It's a donut filled with cannoli cream. Also tried a sugar twist, jelly, glazed, and chocolate iced cake donut. All were great except for the chocolate iced cake donut which was dry. A must try when in Philly.

The name of an amazing bakery!

If I could give 10 stars I would! I consider myself a donut connoisseur because I can eat them all day, errday.... Yes I said errday! I have my favorite donut place in my area because the bag be greasy like it's a cheese steak . These right here took the cake, donuts and pie. I bit into it and was in heaven. I had white powder everywhere so it was believable. It was huge and so much icing, you would be willing to share. I started with my favorite white cream, it was gone so fast, I had to go back for a jelly. Mr. Jelly was the talk of the office. I highly recommend! Grade : A+A+A+A+

Franolli

tl;dr the signature Franolli is worth a try for any cannoli-lover, but it pales in comparison to the best South Philly pastries Frangelli's Bakery was established in South Philadelphia by Joseph Frangelli back in 1947, and it's called its current location at 9th and Ritner home since 1994. While Frangelli's hosts a long donut and Italian pastry lineup, it is perhaps best known for the "Franolli": a powdered donut piped with chocolate-chip cannoli cream. An off-white sign hangs from the townhouse over the corner shop, and the windows are outfitted with custom tricolor neon signs. Expect a queue on the weekend, as the line trails out the door. The large donut-and-pastry display highlights an otherwise tiny and austere room. The walls are painted a dull salmon pink, and warm lights hang from the ceiling. A refrigerator filled with cakes is pressed against the exposed-brick wall in the back, and a self-pour coffee station is nestled next to the west-side window. I arrived early afternoon on a Saturday, and, after a 5-minute wait, I snagged one of the day's final Franollis. The donut component was soft, fluffy, and heavily dusted with powdered sugar -- solid by any corner donut shop standard. Meanwhile, the generous helping of cannoli cream was not quite as rich or sweet as nearby South Philly pastry shops. Further, the Franolli was sorely missing a crispy contrast to the filling -- it reminded me more of a cream puff than either a donut or a cannoli. Service was efficient, and each moderately large Franolli will set you back $4. Frangelli's donut-cannoli hybrid is worth a try for the sheer novelty. However, the abundance of standout Italian bakeries nearby makes it hard-sell to return here again.

It's a small bakery and a small selection but sufficient. We got the sponge bread, the custard bread, the egg tart, the pineapple bun, and the barbecue pork bun for )10.70 cash. The sponge bread is slightly sweet and very light and really quite wonderful. The barbecue pork bun and the pineapple bun were exactly as it should taste. No wonder those two are the best sellers. The egg tart is not too sweet, none of these breads are (aka high praise for any pastries ). Would definitely return! I thought the service was nice. I think there could be some challenges with English, but you could also just point!! My personal favorites are the sponge bread and the pineapple bun. So that's what I would get again. For people who love barbecue pork bun, I think you probably would want to get this.

If you know, you know. The pastries here are absolutely worth the detour--and honestly, wherever I see a Paris Baguette, I do pull over. That includes locations I've visited in Northern California, North Brunswick, New Jersey, Atlanta, Georgia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and even the one here in Charlotte down in Pineville. It's a bit of a drive for me, but when I'm in that area, I always make a point to stop in and pick up a couple of their delicious croissant-donut pastries and marzipan or almond croissants. That's the beauty of this bakery--it's a chain, yes, but the consistency is what keeps me coming back. I have yet to be disappointed. Of course, I had to stop at this Hilton Head location--and I didn't come empty-handed. Food connects people, and bringing pastries to your host is always a winning move. I picked up three different varieties of their famous croissant-donut style pastries (similar to the well-known cronut): * Chocolate * Tiramisu * Mango And I added two large almond croissants that were beautifully filled, flaky, and indulgent. Everything looked fresh, full, and irresistible. The setup inside is easy and efficient. It's self-serve: you grab a tray, line it with parchment, use the tongs, and select whatever catches your eye--from baguettes to cakes to coffee drinks. Checkout was quick, Apple Pay was accepted, and the whole experience felt smooth and well organized. The space was clean, friendly, and inviting, with plenty of outdoor seating. Bottom line: Whenever you see a Paris Baguette on your radar, pull over. It's dependable, delicious, and perfect for picking up pastries to share--or to treat yourself. For me, it's one of those rare places that delivers the same quality every single time, no matter the city--and that kind of consistency is something I truly appreciate as a traveler and lifelong foodie.
