I tried Franco's pizza today and ordered their hot subs. The meatball sub was ok my husband said the meatballs were the frozen kind and my chicken, mozzarella and peppers sub was really subpar. The chicken was dry, stale and breaded, cut up into slivers (i was expecting it to be patties). No flavor what so ever. I ended up throwing this in the garbage. I used to order from this place regularly but after this last experience I think I'm going to find another pizzeria. It took an hour and a half for delivery of an eggplant parm dinner and penne pasta with "meat sauce". The eggplant parm was fine but the "meat sauce" was arguably the worst I have ever had...I mean seriously how hard is it to make passable bolognese aka meat sauce??!! This was penne pasta covered in marinara sauce with a minuscule amount of some sort of ground beef sauce on top. That's it. They couldn't even be bothered to include some grated Parmesan cheese either. Anyways, after this awful attempt at bolognese on top of the excruciatingly long wait time I'm done with this place. Excellent customer service. Clean place. Just wasn't a fan of the pizza here. The Sicilian was good. Burnt on the edge but I didn't mind much. The Supreme just wasn't my cup of tea. Has an awkward vinegar note in some portions that I just don't care for on pizza. read more

Pizza joints are everywhere... finding a good spot, plus tasty pizza is what we crave. I strolled upon Franco's by accident and I'm glad I did. The setup was bright and cozy - comfy to sit and enjoy your food. They had a nice variety of pizza options - I ordered the Margarita and a White slice. I'm vegetarian, so sorry, no meat for me! These 2 slices were quite tasty! The White slice had the perfect balance of cheeses with a light, crispy crust. The Margarita was packed with flavor with every bite melting in my mouth. One of my only go to places in Edison for good ol' plain slices of NY thin crust pizza! You know if they can make a plain slice pizza this good then the rest of the menu must be great! And believe me it is. I recommend Franco's pizza on talmadge road Edison. There cheesesteaks with the works(peppers,onions,mush) great ! Warning if you order a sub and decide on a full then be prepared,a full is the size of 2 foot longs for price of one. I have to say I have been ordering from Francos for close to 10+ years even after I moved out of NJ and came back up to visit my folks I still have Francos on my MUST HAVE RADAR! I usually only order their pizza (large pizza pepperoni/jalapenos) I have also ordered their plain cheese pizza as well as their wings, Italian dinners(chicken marsala & chicken francese,italian subs,mozarella sticks and salad and I have to say they have hit the mark almost EVERY single time! Now let me say that their have been times where they do mess up but it is very rare in my case. My go to place for pizza. Nothing fancy just good old NY pizza which can be hard to find, belive it or not and they deliver promptly. The mgmt and staff are very nice people and always are polite. I ordered delivery after getting a coupon in the mail. I looked up their website to place my order; when my order arrived, I was surprised to find out that their prices had raised about 35% since they last updated their website. There was also a $1.00 delivery charge that was not mentioned on their website or coupon/flyer. The delivery time was estimated to be 40 minutes and it took 2 hours. The pizza was ok and the wings were terrible and soggy. The second hottest wing sauce that they have tastes like a run of the mill BBQ sauce with no heat what so ever. The food and delivery from this place is HORRIBLE.. as a change of pace I ordered from them for the first time tonight....my order was placed a 5:10pm for a large pizza, a seafood combo appetizer and a regular small salad. I was told 30 minutes for delivery. At 6:20pm (1hr and 10 minutes) I called back to find my order...I was told the delivery guy was 2 minutes away...When asked about why I was told only 30 minutes the guy on the phone now says I was told 45min - 1 hr (which is bull)...even if this was true (which it's not) it was still 10 minutes late... We continued to wait...at 6:40pm the delivery guy calls me (far longer than 2 minutes) says he's here...which he wasn't as I was standing at the door waiting...Eventually he arrived at 6:45pm....1 hr and 35 minutes after the original order was placed. First problem was that the guy on the phone took down the address wrong. Now the Pizza was COLD...The seafood combo was drenched in oil and heavy garlic...the sodium was through the roof...my wife's salad was hot since it had been placed onto of the hot seafood platter...Lettuce was not soggy and wilted... Cheese EVERYWHERE like the guy was driving in the Indy 500 and it's 30 seconds down the road. Wondrous variety of gourmet pizzas, but I chose wrong. Franco's Margarita pizza is (what I think is) traditional, diced tomatoes covered with mozzarella- no sauce. I have seen it like this and I can not complain about that. I can complain about the "Large" Antipasto... it was not very large. Most large antipasto give me 3 or 4 servings, this large is only about 2, and it was not diverse; no shredded mozzarella, not many vegetables. The staff & owner(?) were friendly, and had adorable accents. I picked up; after being told 25 minutes I got there and waited another 15 minutes. There was another customer there, and he waited 10 minutes AFTER I arrived; he only ordered 6 wings. Although I did not like this style of Margarita. I would try a different gourmet pizza next time because it was a well crafted pizza with terrific crust, and some of the other pizzas that were being made looked delicious. First off the delivery driver seemed unusually stressed to just be delivering food. food was 22 gave him 25 25 and he just rushed off with my money. I called him back i don,t mind tipping but its my choice to tip. he gave me 3 I tried to give him 1 but he gave it backed.
