Delicious! The staff was very nice and welcoming. The food is amazing. The boogie down chicken Parm had just enough franks to give it a good spice without being over powering. It was a delicious blend of flavors.

I am new to da Bronx. Not Riverdale or any other similar neighborhood. I'm talkin' about the hood. South BX. Where one can walk by passenger-filled "Rikers Island E-Z Transport" vans. Da Bronx. Anyways, I was in the mood for cheap food. Franco's Heroes kept poppin' up on Yelp, but I ain't much a sandwich guy, so I didn't go at first. However, have 3 Merry Land Buffet lunches, I decided it was time to broaden my horizons. That and when I walked for too long in one direction, my spidey sense urged me to walk no farther. Franco's was a pleasant surprise. First of all, the place is clean and nice. Super clean. Perhaps the cleanest of all the restaurants in the vicinity. Second of all, the menu had more than heroes. They had quesadillas and fresh smoothies. Price-wise, everything here is cheap. You can get a full meal for $5 or $6. The food isn't stellar, but it does the trick and fills the tummy without emptying the wallet. Vegetarians will find options here, too. Ah yes, they also take credit cards! So far I've had the Chicken Quesadilla and Franco's Supreme, minus lettuce and tomatoes. The Quesadilla was basically just chicken and cheese, with some homemade salsa contraption on the side. Again, nothing stellar, but filling. The Franco's Supreme was also substantially portioned, and at my next visit I will inquire about toasting sandwiches. Almost forgot to mention, the guys are super nice. +1 Service +1 Cleanliness +1 Options +1 Bang for the buck Glad I came, and I will return and recommend.

delicious

Official sandwiches of Lincoln Hospital. Solid choices and fair prices. Will eat again.

Ambiance 10/10 When I first stepped foot into the…read morerestaurant, I instantly got this retro vibe. I just love the color of the seating and how comfortable the atmosphere was. Service: 10/10 The employees were very friendly. They were kind and had a nice smile on their face. That is what customers should be looking for when being approached by waiters or waitresses. They were very helpful with the menu option. Food: 10/10 I started with their hot chocolate with whipped cream. Man! It was delicious. The whipped cream, by the way, is optional. It does not automatically come with the hot chocolate. The texture was just right. I picked a good day to drink hot chocolate. I have also ordered their standard Belgian Waffles with a side of sausage. I have to admit, I was slightly disappointed with the quantity of the waffle. They only give you one. Additionally, you'd have to ask for the butter. Butter does not automatically come with the waffles. The syrup is or at least should already be on the table once you're seated. Even though I only got one waffle, it was delicious. Furthermore, you have the option to add whipped cream to the waffles. They will add the whipped cream to the waffles for you. The same can be applied to pancakes. When all is said and done, they will offer you a blow-pop lollipop. Overall 9.5/10 I will be back. I am unsure if they do reservations. It wouldn't be surprising if they did. Their menu options and pricing were reasonable.

Sunday Brunch - 3:21 PM…read more Ambiance: We were greeted by a pleasant host who thoughtfully seated us based on our preferences and made sure we weren't placed near a speaker. That attention to detail was appreciated. The crowd was mature and respectful, creating a comfortable atmosphere. The music selection offered a nice variety and complemented the brunch experience well. Service: Our waiter was friendly and attentive. When I requested lemon and an additional brunch menu so my husband and I could each review the options, I learned that only one menu was provided for the table. Since I tend to take my time deciding what to order, having a second menu would have made the process much easier and more enjoyable for both of us. I asked for the menu and lemon he said he would come back and he NEVER did.. we had to ask for it twice . And at the time of ordering our meals it's then when they beamy us the lemons to squeeze into our glass of water. Food: I had the chicken and waffles . Nothing difficult to put together. However if you are going to state on your menu that it's chicharrón de pollo was bland no taste I had to ask for lime to give it some salty mess to it. My husband steak and eggs which came with rice. Steak was chewy he said it was ok nothing to brag. Over all I will give this place a 6 out of 10

The place had many tables filled so I would highly suggest going there with a reservation beforehand. Despite there being a good amount of people service was quick and all servers were very kind and attentive. Our waiter Steven made sure we were taken care of and everyone else were very kind. Our drinks arrived promptly, I will say there was some inconsistency in how our drinks were mixed since one of the vanilla drinks was sweeter than the other but other than that all drinks were delicious. The food on both times that I've been here was delicious with everyone at the table enjoying their meal. I've yet to have a bad experience here. I would say if you are debating trying the restaurant, take the opportunity to as you won't be disappointed.

The Sangria Cafe is quite a place and has excellent service. I had my mind set on ordering…read morenonfortified red sangria, but discovered they only have brandy or other liquor infused sangria they make in small batches. You cannot order a fresh carafe or pitcher of sangria with the fruit in it here, which is what I was expecting from a place headlining sangria. So your experience of the Sangria Cafe for sangria will come down to whether you like yours fortified. I like my sangria freshly made to order with just the wine and chopped fruit, but you may have a better experience at Sangria Cafe if you prefer fortified sangria. So the Manager, Elios, was superb. He told me he would let me taste the red, white and lychee versions to see which one I preferred. Given they are all fortified to an extent, I chose to order margaritas. I prefer mezcal margaritas, but they did not have mezcal at the time. So I went with the tequila classic. It was good and I had it to go for my evening at a cigar lounge. I also ordered food to go: the French cut pork chops with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus and the braised beef short rib with small potatoes and broccoli. Here's a twist: the food was better than the adult beverage at a place emphasizing the latter. At all times, my server, Hector, was superb in his own right. Service is probably the strong suit at Sangria Cafe, followed by the food. The French cut pork chops taste like they have been marinated or at least brined. You will eat these down to the bone and you will pick up those bones to clean them. The garlic mashed potatoes were great too, but the asparagus was a bit overcooked. On balance, this $30 dish was satisfying and would have been better had they included a little gravy on the side for the mashed potatoes. The beef short rib at $38 was even tastier. I appreciate the chef took the time to get a good cut of short rib and trimmed the excess fat down to a leaner cut. The meat is inherently marbled with fat, so the flavor is already going to be as present as the savory tenderness. If you dine at a restaurant where there is excess fat on the beef short rib, know the chef there is not putting in the work to trim all that fat. Coudos to the chefs in the Sangria Cafe kitchen for their trimming work. This is even better than the pork chops and you'll savor every bite. The broccoli was overcooked here, so the chefs could restrain themselves on the cooking time for the veggies. The small potatoes were perfect and what is not to like about marbled beef and potatoes. Here they have a little gravy with cooked onions to add to the savory pleasure. The Sangria Cafe is a great place to come with friends. This place will see lots of action as the weather warms. The atmosphere is upbeat and the music is in full swing. This is a Latino and Afro Latino crowd. The kitchen and service are very good here. Perhaps I'm in the minority preferring nonfortified sangria, but I wish that were an option with the chopped fruit in it. Perhaps the majority prefers the fortified hit, but it would be nice to have it more relaxed with just the wine as summer approaches or at any time of the year. Please keep the mezcal in stock as SOP for the mezcal margs. Thanks to Elios, Hector and the chefs in the kitchen. 3.5 stars.
