I don't know why i gave 4 stars. It's really not much of a restaurant. It's a mexican bakery/deli that also serves cooked food, including while fish, which impressed me. There are a handful of tables. Staff basically speaks Spanish. It seemed basically clean, while not decorated in any particular fashion, and i bought a specialty item for a mexican holiday. The place is no racing beauty, but the staff was helpful, and I'm sure they serve the mexican community in this part of the Bronx quite well. It's nothing special from what I can see (except for some hard to find mexican items), and I wouldn't return unless I happened to need a mexican spice and I was a few blocks away. However. For a local mexican, this place could be a 4 or 5 star joint.

What a lovely Mexican Deli! Friendly service and great food. The Tortas and Sopes are particularly delicious. Wonderfully cooked with quality ingredients, like refried beans and fresh avocados. If you find yourself in the area, definitely give this place a try!

    Amazing!

I had the espresso and Kahlua cocktail but subbed vodka for the tequila. It was delicious. Ordered the chips and guacamole and Al pastor quesadillas. Everything was delicious. My only note is that the guacamole and black beans could have used a touch a salt - other than that food was really solid. I'll definitely be back.

Armando, You're Great-But the Prices? Not So Much…read more We live in the neighborhood and have our go-to spots. Since Oso seemed to have changed hands or at least the vibe has shifted we decided to give this place another try. First, a shoutout to Armando you're great at your job! Friendly, attentive, and professional. Truly a standout. While the food was tasty, I couldn't help but feel the prices didn't align with the portion sizes or overall value. Let's be honest most ingredients in Mexican cuisine are relatively inexpensive (except maybe the avocado), so $16 for two tacos with barely a teaspoon of chicken or beef feels excessive. Just two blocks away on Broadway, there's another fantastic Mexican spot offering generous portions at a much more reasonable price point. Unfortunately, this felt like price gouging, and I won't be returning. Great service can't make up for what feels like taking advantage of customers.

Best brunch I've had in nyc so far. Absolutely loved the corn pancake. Was so delicious and even…read morethough it was swimming in syrup it wasn't too sweet. The hibiscus quesadilla was kind of crumbly and didn't quite have the hibiscus flavor I expected but I still really liked it. The hot chocolate was very delicious as well. Unfortunately the service wasn't very good. The girl keeping track of guests didnt make a list so we got skipped over which was frustrating. There was definitely confusion as more and more people crowded the covered area and outside. Would definitely going earlier as the line got super long on a Saturday.

We got here at 11am on a Sunday and waited about an hour and a half for a table. The hostesses were…read moresuper nice and great about keeping everyone updated on the wait, but it was inconvenient being unable to leave (they took down only names, not phone numbers, and you had to be right there when it was called). They did offer menus for people to order coffee while they waited. The food and drinks come out as they're made, not all at once, so be prepared to wait for your dish or snag a bite from a willing friend. SKIP: Einspänner- aggressively unsweet, which kind of threw me. The coffee was rich in flavor and consistency, and combined with the straight cream top and cocoa powder, it was a little too heavy and one-note for me. Torta with queso and chipotles - this came out last, which I thought was odd considering it was the only cold item. I wouldn't order it again. It was just a lot of cold shredded cheese, sliced avocado (and not a great one), and some chipotles. It was mostly the temp that surprised me, but the flavors weren't anything remarkable either. MEH: Coconut coffee - refreshing, with a strong coconut flavor. It tasted more of coconut water than coconut milk. REORDER: Hibiscus tinga quesadilla - my second favorite item: thick corn tortillas with smoky hibiscus flower and melted, stretchy cheese. It tasted like a really nicely spiced BBQ jackfruit. It's the nature of corn tortillas that they're a little dry, so I would have preferred more oil used on the outside of the quesadilla. The Pancake - yes, it's that good. We ordered ours to split between 3 people, but if I go again I'll be keeping one for myself! Fluffy, moist, cakey perfection with the right amount of sweet Dining in mid-January got us wild blueberries as a topping. Would I wait again? For the pancake, maybe, but it seems like these kinds of literal pan-cakes are becoming more ubiquitous.

This place is sexy and intimate, great for date night or a friend outing…read more The staff is nice. My friend and I were looking for a place for dessert and drinks, so we stumbled into the Cordial. I ordered the prosecco, and we tried the chocolate fondue and a pear dessert. The bartender took our order; he told us that the chocolate fondue came with seasonal fruits, which he told us came with bananas, strawberries, and apples. When he gave us the desserts, the fruits on the plate were nothing, he told us. It had mango, apple, and figs (my friend is allergic to mango), so she was only able to eat only the 5 little apple pieces that were on the plate, and the figs were very mushy. The pear dessert was not so great. So I asked the bartender if he could exchange the pear dessert for more fruits for the chocolate fondue. Again, it was random different fruits; the second round of fruits was figs, oranges, and grapefruit. Cordial is small, so you can see the chefs cooking in the kitchen. With that being said, you can see one of the chefs washing dishes with gloves on and then proceeding to eat a mango with the same glove and then preparing the meals he cleaned dishes and ate with. It was so unsanitary. I just got disgusted and disappointed quickly after watching him. The sad part is that I and my friend were super happy to find a chill place to go and hang out near where we reside, but unfortunately I'm not sure I'll go back.

Allow me to set the scene. I had a great dinner with a friend on a Saturday night near by and decided to finally pop into Cordial to see what they had for dessert. We were so excited to see chocolate fondue with seasonal fruits and a red wine poached pear dish. We ordered both and admired the cozy, warmly lit space. The chocolate fondue was great and the poached pear was okay, we ended up sending it back because it wasn't what we expected, no biggie tho shit happens. Upon looking around that's when we noticed one of the chefs making a disgusting mistake. He was wearing the same gloves he used to wash dirty dishes to prepare foods we and the entire restaurant ate. Not only that but he was also eating the fruits he cut with those same gloves! Did I eat the germs off someone else's plate while he was washing the dishes? Probably! It's really a shame and a disgrace to this beautiful restaurant. To top it all off the server was also taking shots on the job and seemed to get more hammered with each shot. I wish I could say I was being dramatic but I'm not. I will not be returning to cordial and this review is your red flag!! Proceed with caution and be safe!
