I'm not sure who I talked to, but he was a negative pressure salesman. He gave me the bare minimum response to my questions, but was extremely low energy and he was acting like I was bothering him as if asking a professional tailor about where I can find a pinstripe suit was extremely rude. Definitely won't go further with them. read more

I needed to have a old suit altered to fit me for my daughters wedding. Since I live in the northend I decided to give Franco the tailor a try. I brought it in and told them what I needed. He said the pants were no problem but my jacket was too broad in the shoulders and that part couldn't be changed. I guess I was alot bigger then. He then found a jacket that was me size and let me try it on. Perfect. He also found a bunch of moth holes.(the suit had been hanging in my closet for 20 years) so that was a bust. I then asked what his price was for a lightweight suit. 700 for an Italian suit including any tailoring to make it fit right. He then asked how often I needed a suit. I said at least twice for the wedding. He mentioned that I could probably get one at Macy's for half tha price if I only needed it a couple of times. My wife and I decided ,what the heck. I'm might as well get a good suit as it will be the last one I buy. They were very professional.,easy to talk to and knowledgeable. I would recommend them for all your tailoring needs read more

After reading previous reviews I decided to give them a call. No one seems to deny their quality; the negative reviews tend to focus on attitude. I can deal with that, I figured. Then I called, and boy were they snotty. I asked if I were to bring in two blazers (one of which I'd ordered online and was still waiting for), whether it mattered, time wise, if I brought them in separately or waited and brought them in together. Didn't matter he said curtly. So what's the rough timeline, I asked. Depends what it needs, he said. Again: with a very impatient tone. Um, not sure what it needs, I said, definitely shorten sleeves, but I guess I need your help determining that. No response, do I forged on: and how long might it take, could you say? A week to ten days, he says. I can't tell you just how annoyed he sounded. I get that I don't know all the lingo and may have inadvertently committed some faux pas in asking my questions, but after hanging up I've decided to take my business elsewhere. Huge disappointment. I had heard raves about this place, so I took a women's suit there to be altered. Here were the problems: 1) unfriendly service: the man taking my measurements was condescending and snooty 2) overpriced: shortening the sleeves of the jacket and hemming the pants cost me $60. $60!!! 3) shoddy work: when I got the pants home, the button on them was ripped off and missing! They weren't even changing the waist, so I have no idea how or why this happened. I definitely won't be back and will take my business to 15th St cleaners, which is professional and inexpensive. I should have stuck with them instead of trying Franco, but I was drawn in my his reputation. Sadly, it was not well-deserved. Also, why are so many of the positive reviews of this place by people who have written only one or a few reviews? Strange. read more

Franco's shop looks incredibly professional, and I was very eager and pleased when walking in. I had one or two shirts (mens button up shirts) that I hoped for simple neck alterations done. I walked in and heard a friendly "Hello!" from the owner in the back, but the tone quickly changed once he saw me (I'm a young female). He immediately became rude and clearly in no interest of my business. I attempted to be patient with him and explained the simple alteration I hoped for, but he instead assumed I wouldn't be able to afford his services. When I politely added that price wouldn't be an issue and I only hoped for a quality job done, he became even ruder and kept giving me reasons NOT to have him alter my clothes. Instead of calling him on his blatant misogyny and general poor customer service, I grabbed my stuff and walked out. Don't bother going if you're a female (even with mens clothing). Franco clearly has an issue with us. read more

I ordered custom dress shirts from Franco and they came out great. His son Johnny works along side his father. They're professional, friendly, and highly knowledgeable. They also made alterations to several pairs of pants, from simple removal of cuffs to removal of the pleats, thereby extending the useful life of these suits considerably all alterations made we're done exceptionally well, and at a very reasonable price, starting at $25. I will definitely go back and have Johnny and Franco make additional custom shirts for me. read more

When I stopped in to inquire about altering a duvet cover, one of two 2 tailors on-site sniffed and gave me a look as though I'd brought in a gunnysack to be fitted. The other tailor, who also sniffed, said "fine apparel only" -nothing else... His response, I interpreted to mean "No. Unfortunately, our work is limited to apparel. Have talked w/the cleaners next door" My father was a tailor, down in New Orleans. So, I know a little something about the profession and the business -professionals deliver quality and courtesy in equal measure. In that regard, neither Franco/tailor is professional. Imagine how miserable each of them must feel by workday's end...? read more

I've had a couple of alterations done at Franco's. In one instance, it was a bit of a rush as I was flying out to New York for an event. In every case, the job was done quickly, and with quality attention. I've had suits made for me in Hong Kong (Empire Tailors). They were good, but the cover charge of a flight to HKG is a bit high. {cough} I'm giving serious thought to have Franco and Johnny/Giovanni make me some shirts, instead. I live in Kent, and happily drive down to Tacoma for Franco's. On my interpretation of four stars being a place that's worth going out of your way within the whole region, Franco the Tailor easily meets that. read more

Lovely experience. I brought in my wedding suit to be tailored, and it turned out just as promised. I had the pants let out a bit, a single break in the trousers, and buttons for braces sewn on. It only took a couple weeks. Franco and son were very helpful. I have had alterations from department stores that were quite lackluster. You will be satisfied with Franco the Tailor. read more

I just called to see about taking a suit in to have it looked it. I have never owned or wore a suit before so I was not sure how it should look/fit. I asked if I could bring it in to get his opinion and have any alterations done that he felt might be needed. He made me feel very dumb on the phone and when he asked "when would you like to come in?", I asked if today would be possible. He had kind of an attitude and said "well, we close at 1, so". And he just stopped talking. He did not come across as kind at all. He answered the phone and immediatly sounded annoyed. I would recommend looking elsewhere. read more

I have been taking my clothes to Franco the Tailor for years now. I've had countless pairs of pants (jeans and slacks) hemmed, and have also had more complicated alterations done, like a bridesmaid dress that needed to be taken in at least two sizes. Their prices aren't cheap, but their work has been flawless--even looking closely, you can't tell where the clothes were altered. I have referred many people to Franco and his team, and they have all been satisfied. read more

Called Franco to find out about altering two pairs of pants. He didn't return my call and I kept trying him until he finally answered. He fairly abruptly told me the best he could do was alter pants in at least several weeks or more. Time to find another tailor. read more

I have been going here regularly for about a year now. Tailored my italian worsted wool suit; took in the sides, shortened the sleeves, took in the waste of the pants: A perfect job! The stitching is impeccable, and there are no "crumples" or "waves" at the stitching, and they are integrated fully into the existing stitches. I have taken in the sides of sweaters and shirts as well. All flawless. Extremely professional tailor.
