I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to share our experience so that others can make an informed decision. We brought my daughter's senior prom dress to this shop for alterations after hearing many positive recommendations. The dress was her dream prom dress and cost approximately $350. From the beginning, the owner mentioned that the requested alteration might be difficult due to the design of the dress. However, the shop accepted the job and never indicated that the alteration could not be completed successfully. When we picked up the dress, it had significant fit issues, visible puckering, uneven stitching, and multiple snags in the fabric. We returned immediately, and to their credit, the staff was kind and agreed to attempt repairs. When we picked up the dress for a second time, not only were many of the original concerns still present, but the dress had additional snags, pulls, loose threads, and further damage to the fabric. When I pointed out the condition of the dress, I was told that the material was very sensitive and that precautions had been taken while handling it. While I understand that some fabrics require extra care, the dress was returned to us in worse condition than when it was originally dropped off. Throughout the process, the owner was polite and not argumentative. I also appreciate that the shop refunded the alteration fee without hesitation. My disappointment is not with the customer service, but with the outcome and the lack of accountability for the condition in which the dress was returned. In the end, my daughter was left without a wearable version of the dress she had chosen for her senior prom. I am sharing this experience because I wish I had known beforehand that a delicate fabric and a more complex alteration carried a risk of significant damage. i've used these guys for years. I bought a faux fur comforter that cost $50. It cost $50 to clean it. I folded it up, put it away until I went to use it again and there was a burn mark the chemical smell to it. There's no way no I caused this because it wasn't near anything hot. It was in a canvas tote. I called about and even though it had been a while they won't do anything about it. It was clearly made by them. read more

Wow, sticker shock after picking up my 1st order completed at Hi-Tech. I just relocated from the Washington DC area where I had my cloths cleaned every week for an average load of dress shirts and pants for $30, same day service. Comforters were $24. My cost here today was $120 for 5 shirts, 5 pants, 1 comforter and this was a new client 20% discount! Comforter was $42 and it took 2 days to get the clothes completed. I am not interested in $80-$100 each week. Ive got to find another way. read more

My very first visit I took in five shirts. When they were ready I picked up the five and drove home only then to discover that one of the shirts wasn't mine. Additionally, my fifth shirt was missing. I returned the shirt that wasn't mine and had them try to locate my missing shirt. After a day of searching they called to say they couldn't locate it. Although they did a great job on everything, I went in for dry cleaning and their wash and fold service and they really screwed me over on the price. I called and asked about the price for their wash and fold service, it might have been because of the language barrier, but it completely sounded like they said after 10lbs of laundry they had a flat rate. It was the opposite. You have a flat rate up to 10lbs then they start charging per pound. It was very unclear and I didn't understand until they were charging me $120 for what I was under the impression would cost $20. I started crying in the store because I couldn't afford that, I had to leave some of my clothes there because I couldn't pay, and all they would give me was 30% off. The misunderstandings just happen with language barriers, but I really wish they would have been more considerate to me about the misunderstanding. This experience really messed up my budget and I just can't return because of the worry of such an extreme misunderstanding. read more

We moved to Gig Harbor a few months ago and tried Hi-Tech Cleaners on the recommendation of a friend. We left what we thought was the best dry cleaner in the world (a drive-thru window for crying out loud!!!) only to come to a REALLY GREAT new one. First, they offer a discount if you drop off your cleaning on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Second, they email when your order is ready (it's always been at least 1-2 days earlier than predicted). Third, they are so friendly and professional. Eye contact, a smile, and a friendly greeting are becoming increasingly rare, but not at Hi-Tech. Love this place!!! read more

This review is for the shoe repair only - do NOT take your footwear here for heel replacement. I gave them 2 pairs of clogs for new heels and the workmanship was terrible. There were huge gouges in the non-replaceable parts and they put on a hard, very smooth heel material-NOT good in a place where pavements are wet and slippery 9 months of the year. And they charge $25 a pair! Yikes read more
