The food quality was disappointing; instead of pizza, we received dry dough. The staff were not smiling and not friendly. Moreover, they were delayed in taking our order and later added the optional service fee to my bill.

Tried the pizzas here. The fireplace italian pizzas are quite good in terms of the taste of the pizza. I dont like the crust supposed to be crunchy somehow so it was not that great. Recommended to try the pizza but not worth it to go back. Wasnt that pleased. Cheers!

At £5-8 per pie, Franco Manca serves affordable and quality sourdough pizza. The ingredients they use are super fresh and locally sourced. My one qualm is that they don't put enough toppings, but they always oblige whenever I ask them to prepare my pizza with extra tomato sauce.

My friend from London brought me here for my last meal, and I was happy to finally experience a place that locals frequent. The pizza is okay-priced ranging from £5-8. That would be more that enough to buy an entire pizza to share in the states, but is considered inexpensive here. Comfortable environment that is upbeat and busy, and my friend told me that there's typically a line out the door and impossible to get a seat inside. Luckily we were able to find a table inside on a Saturday night. Food: +mozzarella cheese ball with flatbread appetizer: this was the best food all night. The mozzarella is a large ball that has a delicious smoky taste that goes great with the arugula on the side. They only provide 4 tiny pieces of flatbread though. +chorizo pizza: I was happy that the pepperoni pieces were large and had some bite to them and not stingily cut and thin. The pizza shape is irregular because they hand toss the pizza and the crust is thick and airy. There's already a lot of oil, but it also tastes great with adding more spicy oil on the top. I only finished half. Great experience in a local joint. The pizza is average but comparably better than most of the foods I've had in London.

OK! I've been saying for years that MCR is lacking a really good pizza place.. We need somewhere like this! Franco Manca's sourdough pizzas are quite possibly the best I've had. These freshly made pizzas are simple yet work amazingly well and cook in just a few minutes in their wood fired oven. The menu is small, yet everything you could want on pizzas - with the choice to add different toppings if you fancy it. I've sampled these types of pizzas through the likes of street vendors such as Honest Crust at Friday Food Fight - and was always impressed, but Manchester doesn't have a restaurant where you can go and sit in to eat such amazing pizzas. With 10 of these branches to choose from in London there's really no excuse not to pop into one! Franco's also makes and bottles their own organic lemonade - which was gorg! For someone who likes and eats A LOT of pizza - this place hits the spot. And there just so happens to be one in Balham right near my friends house. Perfect!

Delicious pizza, excellent location. What's not to love? Good spot for quick lunch, be prepared for food coma afterwards though - you can't NOT finish the pizza! We ordered two different ones and had half each. Service was quick and we were allocated seats on a Friday lunch very quickly!

This is a pretty awesome place to grab a quick pizza for lunch. We came here around noon on a Friday, and it filled up quite quickly (but I've walked by it on other days of the week and it seemed less busy at similar times, so it's probably quite popular on a Friday). There isn't a massive selection: the pizza menu is quite small. They do allow you to add toppings if you so choose though, which does allow for a bit of customization. The price is pretty reasonable as well. You're looking at less than a tenner for a pizza, and if you don't go for any drinks or sides, you've got yourself a pretty cheap and filing lunch. I ordered the meat special (some proscutto with cheese and radicchio), and I was pleasantly surprised. The crust is slightly crisp, but mostly chewy with a hint of sourdough (so if you're not a fan of sourdough, this place wouldn't be for you). The service is super attentive as well. We got asked twice if our pizza was good (but I think it's because they were on the hunt for a pepper grinder to take to another table and the first time I didn't let them, because I actually wanted to put some on my pizza). They also did the really confusing non-British thing of removing my plate before everyone was finished. They're also really good at being ninja-water-bottle replacers as we were never without a bottle with sufficient water in it. They also provide some olive oil on the side. But not regular oil, there's a bottle of garlic oil and a bottle of chili oil. I found it very delicious to dip the pizza crust into when I was down to that end. The chili oil was especially nice (and what I was looking for because the chili I ordered on top of my pizza was a tad lacking in spice). So four stars for the food, but an extra star for the delicious oils and fantastic service. To be fair, they were probably trying to get us out quickly as there was a massive queue when we left, but I didn't really mind that much.

We're shown to our table and it's hard to hear each other speak, probably because it's just so darn busy in this restraint and it's most likely filled with people saying how great the pizza is. The atmosphere is heavy with rich smells and chatter, the lighting is bright, it's airy and warm, most people sharing tables. Considering it's a Friday I think we're pretty lucky to get a table so quickly, I've walked past so many times and the queue has been out the door. However the staff seem to take this in their stride, a well oiled Pizza machine and withing 10 minutes our pizza is ordered and on the table. We order one each and share 3: wild broccoli, mozzarella, Gloucester old spot hand sliced sausage and 4: Gloucester old spot ham (home cured ), mozzarella, buffalo ricotta, wild mushrooms Both are absolutely delicious, and where the hand crafted base has puffed and topping devoid, we drizzle tasty olive oil and chilli oil on our plates to dip. I particularly love the 4: the base is creamy and wild mushrooms have a wonderful earthy taste. We're both particularly impressed with the fact so many of the ingredients are locally sourced. At less than £7 a pizza, we're left thinking not only we've had a bargain, but also full and happy.

What: One of London's best sourdough pizzas. That's what they're know for and that's what they do well. Don't bother with dessert, it's not really their forte. Tip: Yes, you'll want some garlic pesto with that. And probably a bit of olive oil too to dip the crust in. How much: The bill usually comes to around £20 for two people. No, I don't know how they do it either. When it comes to date, most people think expensive, Michelin-type restaurants, where you have to dress up to get in. I usually think small, rather busy restaurants that would let me sit there for the entire evening, sipping wine (or cocktails, I'm rather flexible you know!) and eating all sorts of delicious things straight from the plate. But that might very well be because I'm not really good at booking tables, or planning dates in advance for that matter... One of my favourite places to visit for un-planned dates (and general meals out) is Franco Manca. I go pretty much every single time we're near Warren Street. I went when my friends visited from France. Hell, I even went for brunch on Valentine's day! And also some time last week... The burrata (from the specials board, but it features onthere quite often!) was creamy and light, and the accompagning toasted sourdough toasts and salad were great too. From the small pizza menu, my absolute favourite is the n°6 as the chorizo is excellent. https://cakeandwhisky.wordpress.com/2015/03/25/london-best-pizza-franco-manca

We read it was the best pizza place in London. It probably is!! Service is great, too. The place is busy, I guess that's what you get when you have the best of something. The staff is all-Italian, and man they're loud, but that only makes it more authentic. At last a pizzeria which we will return to. Franco Manca has achieved what most have failed in London: an amazing pizza at a competitive price.

    Margherita

If you're looking for authentic Napoli-style pizza, with thousands of tiny bubbles through the wood-fire baked dough, then look no further in London. This is really one of the top. You only need to listen to the number of Italians working the oven and eating in the venue to realise that it really is where Italians choose to have their pizza in London. The toppings are fresh and not overdone. Quality mozzarella and tomato passata. The sourdough base is a really strong feature and the most enjoyable part of the pizza. You leave feeling light and happy, not bogged down by carbs. Although not on the menu, the desserts are lovely! Chocolate cake was simple and a nice addition after a Margherita pizza. The homemade fizzy limonata is also a must try. A quick, casual and very fun dinner.

It was a short walk in Marble Arch. Franco was Sherry's grandfathers's name so it was a good sign. We saw the bright pizza sign in the window and knew we were there We walked into this large pub style place and saw a single gentleman sitting at the bar. The rest, crickets. Yet, we had a great time with our host, a young, friendly, talented pizza maker from Scotland. We got one pepperoni and one meat pie. We had been under-enthused by most food since we arrived but Franco had it going on. The crust was thin, crisp on the bottom and a nice chewy crust. The sauce was tangy and the cheese smooth. The toppings were good and more than enough. They served the pizza with two oils - a garlic oil and a hot pepper oil. Both were great. We had a chance to talk to our new Scottish friend too. It was a nice pleasantly surprising night. Franco is a nice Italian pizza option in a predominantly middle eastern food neighborhood. Thanks fro being there!

The food was excellent for my taste not to spicy or overly dripping in sauce. I wasn't feeling well during our trip so I was looking for something that would go down easy and stay. The Spaghetti w/ meat sauce was EXCELLENT!! The pizza was almost perfect - pepperoni cut a little too thick, made in a pizza brick fire oven. I high recommend this location for locals and travelers. Hope to return on another visit to London.
