My recent visit in January was pretty disappointing. As I've got some curves, they usually don't have my size on the racks - but they always have more in the back. When I've been helped in the past, the staff will usually bring me a big selection to try on, rather than me having to ask about every piece. On this recent visit, I told the staff what I was looking for and she said she'd check in the back. When I went to the change rooms, there was ONE dress for me to try on. I asked if she had any other choices and got some lame excuse, and she reluctantly brought out a few more. Considering I was the only person in the store, the level of service was really disappointing. It's a store I'll continue to shop at as I love the brand. I don't think this experience was a good representation of what you can expect.

Athleta has a wear and be happy policy. LOL Banana basically investigated my pants and tried telling me because I wore them around my house. I was debating between sizes. She made me feel like I was doing something wrong!! Shouldn't I be happy with my purchase. I think she's the manager, she is rude, unkind. That policy being unhappy with your purchase must be how banana operates. Their clothes aren't cheap. I should be happy. And I'm sorry your pants stretched out so badly in 10 mins for me to figure out sizing that exchanging them was such a big deal. Then because I sure rewards I owed money. Just such poor customer service. No wonder I typically always shop at Nordstrom. They care about their customers. Horrible! Wouldn't go back to this store again.

Definitely recommend this American Eagle store, and will definitely be back.

Not like those boutique shops where the clothes look like they won't last more than a few months. They also have some good outerwear (we bought some previously). My dad is 6'5" and wears a size 15 shoe. It's hard for him to find clothes or shoes his size in…read moremost stores, but this store caters to men like him. When he visited me recently, his Sperry Top-Siders were worn nearly clean through. The heels were cracked and the soles were really thin at the balls of his feet. I Yelped for some nearby stores and found Casual Male XL on Baseline, on the south side of the road near Gilbert Road. The guy who works there greeted us when we walked in. The company website, although not specific to this store, led me to believe there'd be a sizable shoe selection--there really isn't at this particular store. Dad really needed a new pair of shoes...he never complains about anything and wouldn't buy himself new shoes unless his foot fell through the bottom, so I was a bit disappointed because I wanted to get him a new pair. However, we did find a pair of Deer Stag shoes in the top-sider model. He tried them on and loved them. And they were on sale! In addition to shoes, they have jeans, slacks, T-shirts, dress shirts, underwear, polos, and suits. I didn't buy any of those items (yet) but I'll be back.

I visited the store yesterday to buy turner dance shoes for my elementary student. There was an…read moreolder woman behind the counter who was a very pushy salesperson. She asked my daughter's shoe size and proceeded to tell her to sit down so she could try some turners on her. When she was convinced she had the right size she said those were the best and that's what I wanted. I asked her if she had others from a different manufacturer and she said yes but they would be the same price anyway and the one she had selected was the best. I questioned the return policy and she said yes you can bring them back if they're not worn. Then after a slight pause she said if they're not the right size bring them in not worn and we will exchange them for the right size or give you store credit. During this interaction I was also online trying to find the brand to make sure I wasn't being overcharged since I am generally a savvy shopper. I don't mind paying for quality but I also don't like being grossly overcharged. While I was online she blurted out, "oh you get a discount it'll be $4 dollars off." That should have been a red flag because she didn't offer any reason for the discount and it was an odd percentage considering the original price of the item was listed at $29.99. I thought I was dealing with someone reputable, knowledgeable and fair so I made the impulsive decision to purchase the item and decided to look into the item online at a later time since my phone was dying. I found the exact item new online at Amazon for $15 less than her original price and $10 less than I had paid. Since I didn't need any other dance clothes at the moment I intended to return to the store to get a refund. I should mention I have previously shopped at the store because it is conveniently located in a mall and they do carry a decent selection of dance wear and dance accessories. I would have shopped at the store again many times this year for additional dance items (as I did last year) as they were required for performances with my daughter's dance group. Unfortunately based on my interaction today I will no longer shop at the store and I will always shop early and online. My interaction today was that I walked in and asked the same woman to kindly refund the money expressing that I did not need them. She proceeded to tell me that she explained to me yesterday that there were no refunds under any circumstances. Then she flips up the card that she attached to the front of the receipt that hides the statement that there are no refunds. I expressed that I thought her actions and her statement about returns was very misleading. I also expressed that it wasn't a very good policy if they're in the business of customer service because the shoes were brand-new, never worn and not needed by us. She was prepared to fight until the end regarding her no refund policy and even marked the spot on the receipt that said no refunds with a line to indicate how wrong I was. If this interaction were not enough to stop me from shopping there I guess the fact that I looked online at everything I've ever purchased from there and found that I have routinely been overcharged 25 to 60%. I hope this review will help others not to be overcharged and not to be treated poorly by someone who doesn't understand being in business.
