While I didn't buy…read moreanything there, the manager of the Chapel Hill boutique told me they were opening one in Charlotte and there was one in Birksdale Village. My folks live closer to the Birksdale Village location, so we stopped in on Cyber Monday. This is part of a sort of outdoor mall with shops and restaurants. Parking is ample in terms of street parking and structures. I found side street parking near the boutique. The staff here was very friendly and upbeat. They were happy to answer any questions or open a room for you. The fashions here are a similar price point to the ones in Chapel Hill, but the styles are little trendier. Not quite my style, but it was fun to check out.

Quality Looks Color Options and customer service until this week. Store manager was extremely rude, not accommodating, and major attitude. Has two City Sweat shirts that I had no receipts, hang tags, and had washed once. In the past, if I had any issue with any item, I took to store and they allowed me to exchange for a different item. Manager stated that has never been their policy (which could be accurate) but has never been enforced in last 4 years. Willing to pay twice what a similar item made by Nike, Carhart, REI .... Last Lulu item I will purchase. I will buy Free Fly, Orvis, or similar high quality clothing but no more LuLu.

Monkee's of Lake Norman in Birkdale…read more Buyer Beware I stopped in the Monkee's store in Birkdale to look for some outfits for my wife. I ended up buying two separate outfits with the understanding that she would only be using one if she'd liked it at all for our upcoming trip. They sold me both outfits, totaling $472.97 and I left as a happy customer. Unfortunately, when my wife tried to return the unwanted items, she was alerted of the fact that they would only provide an in-store credit. I called the owner, Kim Darcy, directly and she said that this is her store policy and she would not honor the refund as was the agreed-upon understanding by me and her salespeople. Upon looking at the receipt, it does state their in-store credit policy for returns, but there was never any explanation of it and the receipt was just put in the bag with the items. During our conversation she did offer a 10% discount on future purchases, using the in-store credit gift card, as a concession for her hostage sales tactics. There was never any mention of the in-store credit only policy nor any signage anywhere, and her sales people were very clear with my desire to have one or all of these items returned the next day if necessary. In a time when we want to support local businesses more than ever, one would think that they would treat customers better than the big box stores, where you can buy and return for a full refund at will, not worse! I rarely write a review, but thought that the community needs to know about Monkee's business practices.

However, as we were roaming the store there was a woman who identified herself as an Account Executive that was working the floor and blatantly ignored us, offering everyone around us glasses of champagne and greeting them to discuss their needs. As I was looking in the case, instead of asking if I'd like to try something on, she assumedly asked if I was looking for the price tag which I found to be tacky and distasteful. It was apparent that she was selective on who she chose to engage with, not giving every customer the same experience.

Right as you enter the door there is a signboard where you can right your name and then they will come get you when a salesperson is available. I didn't have to wait long at all. Next they have you stand on a scanning machine followed by measuring your stride on a short strip on the floor that does just that. The salesman who helped me was very knowledgeable and I learned stuff about my feet that blew my mind. He brought out three different pairs of shoes and I got to try them on and walk around with them. I ended up getting a pair of Brooks. I was very pleased with my purchase and will look into running programs in the near future that they offer on their website. Highly recommend this establishment!

Kila is by far the best personal shopper I've ever worked with! I used to work with an associate at Nordstroms but now I call Kila! She's personable, professional, creative and she's never pushy. She selects perfect pieces and outfits for me that I would never try on myself, and they look fabulous! I feel great in all her selections and I always receive compliments on my Bevello look including jewelry, handbags & shoes! I'm thankful to have found her and appreciate all the time & energy she's given me for the many different occasions and looks I need.
