    Carnival donuts

I have been to many fractured prunes. These donuts are always fresh, hot, and cakey. My average thought on fractured prune is maybe 3 stars. 1. I do not prefer cake donuts. I like fluffy. 2. They are more of a beach specialty than they are actually great quality. However, this specific fractured prune is stand out. The service is quick, but the guy in charge on this random Monday mid-afternoon thought my kids were cute and was extra nice to them. I was going to make them split one donut, but on top of just generally being nice and letting them order like difficult to comprehend 3 year olds, he surprised them with extras! Maybe it was because they were close to closing and had extra batter, but he gave both my kids 2 donuts drenched in glaze and sprinkles. Their faces completely lit up and it was one of those can't be matched, magical beach moments that will be a core memory for them. Thank you to the fractured prune guy that simply made my kids entire week here at the beach. I will be driving by 5 other fractured prunes to come to you every time from now on.

Fractured Prune makes made to order hand dipped donuts. They have a menu of donuts but there is also an option to create your own donut with a variety of toppings, glazes, and sugars-- soo truly endless possibilities of donut flavors combinations. When we arrived there was a bit of a line but we waited, we picked which donuts we wanted so we didn't have to hold up the line. We ended up getting some of their donuts off their menu and made a few of our own. The donuts are literally so fresh and warm as they were just made. I loved the OC Sand and Carnival! It is a cake donut but with all the toppings not too sweet. I recommend eating them right away but you can also warm them up and still taste as good!

Wow! Delicious donuts and great service! The OC Sand donut was out of this world. I wish there was seating inside, but that's okay! I was able to grab a couple of donuts and take a nice beach walk.

Hard to go wrong with a hot, freshly made donut. Pick a signature donut or create your own. Got the OC sand - who doesn't love more sugar on top of a donut?? Love the grab and go location. May need a few napkins, but grab and continue down the boardwalk for more indulgences. And the coolest butterfly landed on our box right as I was taking the picture - that's gotta be a good sign!

These were some delectable masterpieces they were gooey, warm, and delicious sensation. The service was good they accommodated for allergies. The ambiance is what you would expect for a little boardwalk shop.

This was by far our favorite stop in Ocean City!!! The customer service was the warmest of all places we visited, and the donuts were incredible! They were made to order, fluffy and moist, with a slight crisp on the outside -- absolutely perfect! I swear by the banana glaze with Oreos! Definitely worth a visit and you will regret not getting at least half a dozen!

The donuts were amazing. They were hot and freshly made. The glaze was melty. They have a ton of different kinds of donuts you can get. I got the chocolate covered cherry, Black Forest and Lemonade. If you don't like rich food, then stay away but they are worth the money. It doesn't take long to get them. They make them fresh and then call your name. Very good service. And of course you can either eat at the restaurant outside or you can bring it back to your hotel. They do not have eat in service. Eating your donuts and looking at the ocean is the best thing. Give this place a try, I'm sure you won't be disappointed!

I showed up right around opening time on a Thursday morning and had no problem getting donuts quickly. They were perfectly fresh and tasted amazing! The only downside is the cost. There is seating out front of the window.. maybe 4 tables. Would recommend for a quick donut or two, but I could imagine a dozen gets pricey.

Fresh, hot, and delicious donuts coming out daily. They put the toppings on the donuts right there in front of you so they are the freshest and fluffiest donuts. We went each day that we were in town visiting to make sure that we got to try them all!

I've been a huge fan of these donuts for a while! It's now a must-visit even if I'm just in the area for a weekend. Donuts are soft, moist, and always fresh. There are so many wonderful types to choose from; I still haven't tried all of the ones i want to. I love that there are locations on the boardwalk as well. I stopped in most recently and tried the prunewich (an egg and cheese sandwich between their plain donut). Again, the donut itself does not disappoint; however, I'd recommend against ordering the wich. It was way overpriced for the paper thin egg and sprinkling of cheese that accompanied it. It ended up just tasting like the donut because the taste overpowers the rest, hardly a quality sandwich. It also took forever to make. It's a neat idea though, so it's worth it to say I tried it. But now I can safely stick with the donuts and not feel like I'm missing out.

This location was very convenient to where we were staying so we enjoyed their gooey warm donuts most mornings. The coffee was subpar but I accept that. The donuts are made to order and not a single time were we disappointed. The wait is long because it's so busy but again not anything we don't anticipate. Some mornings we even ordered online. I wish we had some of these where I am from.

Doughnuts so good we went back TWICE!! I'm usually not a fan of doughnuts, but after seeing the line wrapped around the building @FracturedPrune I had to give it a try. We ordered a half dozen doughnuts, two carnival, one O.C. Sand French toast, strawberry shortcake, Cookies N cream and honey glazed. OMG...they were devoured in five minutes. I only got to taste the O.C. Sand French toast, which was warm and deliciously satisfying down to the last bite. Besides the tasty toppings, they really put the dough in doughnut because the cake-like batter really sealed the deal. Before we departed O.C. we picked up another half dozen for the ride home, but as you can imagine, they didn't make it out the parking lot. If you're ever in town or stumble upon a Fractured Prune, it's a must. Enjoy!

Fresh donuts with the best flavors available. You've gotta try these when in town. Made to order. I didn't finish them all in one day but if you microwave them the next day for 8-10 seconds as recommended they taste just as fresh. I love the variety of donuts- different flavors for the entire family.

How many times, in my entire life, had I actually tried one? Zero. But I was determined to change that during my solo birthday adventure to Ocean City this year. My first Fractured Prune donut in 41 years...I was more excited than I probably should have been. For those unfamiliar, Fractured Prune has been an Ocean City staple since 1976 and is known for letting you build your own donut masterpiece--starting with a hot, fresh donut and customizing it with glazes and toppings however you like. No pre-made rows of donuts here--just pure, creative, donut freedom. Since I was visiting in March (aka off-season), I wasn't even sure I'd get my chance. But I was thrilled to find this location open until 12pm on Saturdays. PERFECT. I got up early, watched the sunrise, and made my way over to finally experience the hype. I had studied the menu ahead of time because I knew if I didn't, I'd stand at the counter forever trying to decide. I landed on one donut--a Banana Nut Bread creation (banana glaze, cinnamon sugar, peanuts). I was attempting to show some level of restraint during a weekend that was otherwise...not about restraint. I walked in around 9:30am on a beautiful March Saturday and found a small crowd already inside. Clearly, even in the off-season, people know where to go. I placed my order, paid my $3.57, and asked if they had stickers as a little keepsake from my birthday trip. They were out, but the kind gentleman behind the counter offered me a magnet instead--which I happily accepted. A few minutes later, my number was called, and I was handed a purple box that felt...surprisingly heavy for one donut. I took it out to my car, opened the box, and immediately started to cry. I was on a solo birthday trip--my first one in a long time--and while I was doing my best to fill it with fun and new experiences, there was definitely a bittersweet edge to it. Inside the box weren't just my one donut--but two extra donuts and a handwritten "Happy Birthday!!" on the lid. It was such a small gesture, but it meant everything in that moment. It made me feel seen. It made me feel celebrated. And honestly, it made my entire day. The kindness of the people working there didn't have to exist--but it did, and it mattered. After I pulled myself together (and stopped crying over my donuts), I finally took a bite. I get it now. I fully get the hype. The donut was incredible--served warm, soft, moist, and perfectly cakey, with the banana glaze, cinnamon sugar, and peanuts all working together in the best possible way. It took serious self-control not to demolish all three donuts right there in the car. I'm not even sure I've ever had a truly fresh, hot donut before this--but if this is the standard, Fractured Prune has set the bar very high. For $3.57, this was one of the best purchases I've made in a long time--and eating it in the sunshine during my birthday adventure is a memory I won't forget anytime soon. Logistically, it's easy: free parking in a nearby strip mall, quick ordering, and fast service. Just note--there's no indoor seating. You grab your donuts and go...which honestly isn't a bad thing when "go" can mean taking them to the beach just a few minutes away. Fractured Prune is officially on my "must-do every time I'm in Ocean City" list. And next time? I'm not pretending I'm only getting one donut!

$20 for six donuts that were hot and moist--but somehow still disgusting. Just not good.read more

My husband whispered "This place was on the food network". I'm not surprised. The menu is bizarre. You can get a burger or chicken or egg on your donuts. Bleh. Even the donut donuts were over the top... like 5 toppings. But the family got a dozen (everyone else got like 1-2 donuts each and a lot of people were ordering their soft serve ice cream which we didn't try). Here are our reviews: 11 yr old: Score 3/10. They were OK. 13 yr old: Score 8/10. I liked them! Runner up to Fractured Prune. 54 yr old: Score 7/10. I liked them OK, a little better than Fractured Prune but I'm really a Dunkin man. 46 yr old: Score 1/10. Bleh. Like Bleh when I looked at the menu and BLEH when I looked at the donuts. I tried a couple pieces of a couple of them, and not one was enticing enough to actually desire to eat the whole thing. I'm a KK or DD fan too, and I only like 2 donuts made by FP, and they are the plainer ones. Note... they will do custom donuts, so if their suggestions are over the top, tell them what you want. They are cake donuts and there is a toppings bar (think: Subway) where you chose your glaze and toppings, and they make it in front of you. My issue was that sprinkles were in glazes, glazes in sugar, and it was all very messy. It kinda grossed me out. And there you have it. It's a novelty.
