It's hard pass up freshly made donuts, especially when they are dipped in blueberries. The cashier took my order and went work on my "Blueberry Hill" donuts. They looked good and tasted even better. I look forward to my next visit.
A friend told me to go to Fractured Prune and their recommendation held true! The donuts appear small but are very filling and very sweet- in a good way! I got the trail mix donut (minus the candy) and really enjoyed it. Even better than the donut was actually their breakfast sandwiches! An important savory pairing to a very sweet breakfast dessert. Such a cute little store right on the boardwalk, with a nice seating area where you can take a break and enjoy your food before you continue exploring.
Unpopular opinion, but I wasn't very impressed for a $20 half dozen. Yes, it's nice they're served warm and fresh, but a lot of the flavor options are pretty similar and it's all glazed with toppings (no icings). We went at a good time when there was no wait, but by the time we were getting our order, the line was down the boardwalk, so clearly others are loving them, just wasn't anything special to us.
I have been to many fractured prunes. These donuts are always fresh, hot, and cakey. My average thought on fractured prune is maybe 3 stars. 1. I do not prefer cake donuts. I like fluffy. 2. They are more of a beach specialty than they are actually great quality. However, this specific fractured prune is stand out. The service is quick, but the guy in charge on this random Monday mid-afternoon thought my kids were cute and was extra nice to them. I was going to make them split one donut, but on top of just generally being nice and letting them order like difficult to comprehend 3 year olds, he surprised them with extras! Maybe it was because they were close to closing and had extra batter, but he gave both my kids 2 donuts drenched in glaze and sprinkles. Their faces completely lit up and it was one of those can't be matched, magical beach moments that will be a core memory for them. Thank you to the fractured prune guy that simply made my kids entire week here at the beach. I will be driving by 5 other fractured prunes to come to you every time from now on.
Fractured Prune makes made to order hand dipped donuts. They have a menu of donuts but there is also an option to create your own donut with a variety of toppings, glazes, and sugars-- soo truly endless possibilities of donut flavors combinations. When we arrived there was a bit of a line but we waited, we picked which donuts we wanted so we didn't have to hold up the line. We ended up getting some of their donuts off their menu and made a few of our own. The donuts are literally so fresh and warm as they were just made. I loved the OC Sand and Carnival! It is a cake donut but with all the toppings not too sweet. I recommend eating them right away but you can also warm them up and still taste as good!
Wow! Delicious donuts and great service! The OC Sand donut was out of this world. I wish there was seating inside, but that's okay! I was able to grab a couple of donuts and take a nice beach walk.

May need a few napkins, but grab and continue down the boardwalk for more indulgences. And the coolest butterfly landed on our box right as I was taking the picture - that's gotta be a good sign!
These were some delectable masterpieces they were gooey, warm, and delicious sensation. The service was good they accommodated for allergies. The ambiance is what you would expect for a little boardwalk shop.

Definitely worth a visit and you will regret not getting at least half a dozen!
The donuts were amazing. They were hot and freshly made. The glaze was melty. They have a ton of different kinds of donuts you can get. I got the chocolate covered cherry, Black Forest and Lemonade. If you don't like rich food, then stay away but they are worth the money. It doesn't take long to get them. They make them fresh and then call your name. Very good service. And of course you can either eat at the restaurant outside or you can bring it back to your hotel. They do not have eat in service. Eating your donuts and looking at the ocean is the best thing. Give this place a try, I'm sure you won't be disappointed!
I showed up right around opening time on a Thursday morning and had no problem getting donuts quickly. They were perfectly fresh and tasted amazing! The only downside is the cost. There is seating out front of the window.. maybe 4 tables. Would recommend for a quick donut or two, but I could imagine a dozen gets pricey.
Fresh, hot, and delicious donuts coming out daily. They put the toppings on the donuts right there in front of you so they are the freshest and fluffiest donuts. We went each day that we were in town visiting to make sure that we got to try them all!
Do you like donuts? Especially fresh ones that have that warm, moist chew when you bite into them and are full of aroma? Well, they're pretty darn amazing here. Not cheap, but you can custom design your own donut, then wait for it to be constructed and cooked up. Thus, it's not really a grab and go. You could wait up to 20 minutes as they are prepped and cooked. I didn't eat all 6 we ordered...and I didn't even eat a whole donut cause I was already binging on ice cream cones every day. However, the bite I took had me wanting to ravage all of them. They're addicting and so delicious. I'm rather glad I don't have a Fractured Prune close to home. read more
This is a counter pickup with no interior seating but the boardwalk has plenty of benches. Well, $6 for 4 mini donuts is pretty reasonable in Ocean City. We got 2 maple and 2 sprinkles cake donuts, and both flavors tasted really good! The service was fast and efficient. I would definitely order from here again! read more

It is always busy here! Service was quick and it's well organized. The donut was delicious. It was hot and fresh. The spot is right on the boardwalk but there was lots of sitting to enjoy the donut. read more

One of the best donuts you will ever have. They are all made to order so it takes a minute to get but the delayed gratification makes it even better. The outside is crispy and the inside is incredibly soft. Not too sweet, just super good read more

I've been a huge fan of these donuts for a while! It's now a must-visit even if I'm just in the area for a weekend. Donuts are soft, moist, and always fresh. There are so many wonderful types to choose from; I still haven't tried all of the ones i want to. I love that there are locations on the boardwalk as well. I stopped in most recently and tried the prunewich (an egg and cheese sandwich between their plain donut). Again, the donut itself does not disappoint; however, I'd recommend against ordering the wich. It was way overpriced for the paper thin egg and sprinkling of cheese that accompanied it. It ended up just tasting like the donut because the taste overpowers the rest, hardly a quality sandwich. It also took forever to make. It's a neat idea though, so it's worth it to say I tried it. But now I can safely stick with the donuts and not feel like I'm missing out. read more

This location was very convenient to where we were staying so we enjoyed their gooey warm donuts most mornings. The coffee was subpar but I accept that. The donuts are made to order and not a single time were we disappointed. The wait is long because it's so busy but again not anything we don't anticipate. Some mornings we even ordered online. I wish we had some of these where I am from. read more

Doughnuts so good we went back TWICE!! I'm usually not a fan of doughnuts, but after seeing the line wrapped around the building @FracturedPrune I had to give it a try. We ordered a half dozen doughnuts, two carnival, one O.C. Sand French toast, strawberry shortcake, Cookies N cream and honey glazed. OMG...they were devoured in five minutes. I only got to taste the O.C. Sand French toast, which was warm and deliciously satisfying down to the last bite. Besides the tasty toppings, they really put the dough in doughnut because the cake-like batter really sealed the deal. Before we departed O.C. we picked up another half dozen for the ride home, but as you can imagine, they didn't make it out the parking lot. If you're ever in town or stumble upon a Fractured Prune, it's a must. Enjoy! read more
Fresh donuts with the best flavors available. You've gotta try these when in town. Made to order. I didn't finish them all in one day but if you microwave them the next day for 8-10 seconds as recommended they taste just as fresh. I love the variety of donuts- different flavors for the entire family. read more

This place is amazing and no wonder why they have so many locations. God bless the owner of this idea. I RARELY eat carbs or donuts for that matter and I decided to surprise my boyfriend as he was up in the room. I ate a bite of EVERY SINGLE ONE... he on the other hand FINISHED THE BOX!!! Need j say more?? Chocolate covered cherry and carnival were the best!!! read more

Yum who doesn't like fresh donuts in the morning? The lines don't lie and it's worth it! There is something about the donut batter that makes it really delicious and almost cake-like. We ordered a half dozen - the OC Sand and Banana Nut were our faves. Not to be missed when you're at Ocean City. read more
This is a must stop place to get the perfect donut. For the pass couple years we kept forgetting to stop here with all the rushing during Jeep week. But this year it was priority number one. The only complaint I have is that the closest one to where I live in New York is 5 hours away. They need to bring this franchise up to New York. This place is amazing. Fresh on the spot made donuts made your way. You pick everything from the glazed to the toppings. Even a day later it's still as fresh as when it came out the box. Maybe before school starts again we'll make that 5 hour trip just for some doughnuts. Lol read more

Hubby and I were walking on the boardwalk, looking for a breakfast sandwich spot. We spotted Grotto's first and wondered if they had sandwiches since we didn't think Fractured Prune would have it as a donut shop. Lo and behold, I saw the sandwich sign at this location and decided to go for it since we were hungry. Ordered a sandwich, donuts and coffee. Quick service, decent price for fresh food, and love that we can go back to the benches on the boardwalk to eat and people watch. All the donuts were freshly made per order. SO GOOD. I think it's one of our favorite donut shops now. Sausage egg and cheese on a bagel $5.75 - Great portion. I can't believe how FRESH this bagel was and it was delicious! Amazing breakfast sandwich for a donut shop. French toast donut - maple glaze & cinnamon sugar. Delicious! It's pretty much a standard donut flavor but because it was made fresh right there, it made a HUGE difference in taste. Warm and pure cinnamony goodness. Morning buzz - mocha glaze & cookie crumbs. This was perfection. Not doughy at all. Utterly a-ma-zing. Hubby and I aren't big donut fans so the fact that we wolfed down two and wanted more says a lot. The combination of flavors and toppings are great and the piping hot donut is as good as you can get. Fractured Prune should be called "so fresh" because everything was top notch. We enjoyed our meal so much that we planned to go to another location closer to our hotel to have breakfast again. And we ended up getting a half dozen donuts. So there you go, we are now major fans of this franchise. read more
Really great donuts and a must visit when you stay in Ocean City. I made the mistake of trying to visit a view locations around the area while driving, not knowing that there was one right on the boardwalk (but then again maybe not since I probably would've visited more than once during my stay). I arrived as they were opening in the morning and was immediately greeted and able to place my order. My donuts were made fresh to order but I believe they do that regardless of what time you arrive. I ordered the regular glazed, the lemon glazed and a few rainbow options for my younger nephews. We devoured them, they were so amazing! They're cakey which I generally don't love but because these were hot and fresh they just melted in your mouth. I don't think I've had a donut since because I'm spoiled now. Definitely a must try when you're in the area! read more

this place is definitely a must try spot when you're in OC and on the boardwalk! If it's for dessert or breakfast this will definitely treat your sweet tooth! The employees are super friendly and helpful even with it being busy! They over a lot of different flavors and variety of donuts and they also taste amazing! read more

Loved these donuts. All of the donuts we ordered were the cake type (vs yeast), and while I usually prefer yeast, these cake one were the best I've ever had. We got it when it was warm, so they were soft and just melted in your mouth. And "soft" is the key word here. I typically don't prefer cake donuts because they crumble when hardened ( a la not fresh). Not the case here - warm, soft and oh so moist. We got a dozen donuts with every one a different variety and I really enjoyed them all. I can't say which one stood out as I really just enjoyed the texture. I can say that none were overbearingly sweet or salty, which allowed me to eat more than I should've in one sitting. What's surprising about these donuts is that they STAY soft. I ate them for the next 2 days and they still didn't crumble! (Ate as-is, no reheating!) I'm told from my baker friends that what's keeping them soft is probably not something too healthy (trans fat?) But if you're trying to watch your figure, you shouldn't be eating donuts anyways. So might as well enjoy the donut in front of you! Definitely would return here next time I'm in OCMD (unless I'm watching my waistline) and recommend anyone to give it a try! read more
The concept of these donuts is terrific, especially considering the unique selection. I was torn between choosing the strawberry shortcake and banana nut donut. Recommendations from the preparers/servers helped me select banana nut donut! It had just the right amount of glazed flavored topping and nuts, and was warm. My fellow donut connoisseur opted for a Reese's peanut butter cup donut, which she enjoyed--also warm and tasty. These donuts are expensive at $3 each or two for $5. They tend to be greasy. I look forward to trying others another time. read more
