Checked Yelp when we got into town. Frackleton's looked to be very promising. When we got there, the hostess said it would be 15-20 minutes to get a table, but the high bar was available. We don't usually sit at high tables, but decided it beat the wait. But wait we did. After about 20 minutes the hostess came over and apologized and said she hadn't told the server she had sat anyone at her station. The server finally came over and took the order of the couple sitting next to us, who had come in just minutes before. And they got their food and FINISHED before we got our food. My omelet was good, but had to ask for the biscuit that was supposed to come with it, then ask for some jam after she brought the dry biscuit. Hubby had a salad. The server said we could have a free dessert to make up for our long wait, but we had to wait another 15 minutes for our free to-go dessert. Very disappointed. All the servers seemed to be preoccupied with making/delivering/retreiving drink glasses so they could be washed and used again. read more

FANTASTIC food! Weird (odd) decor. Our service was excellent on a busy night and the food was great. The manager checked on us several times and they were very kind and patient with our loud toddler. My only complaint, and it's not even really a complaint so much as an observation, is that it seems to be a high-end, fine dining establishment trapped in the body of a 24-hr roadside diner. They need to upgrade the decor to match their fine menu! Highly recommend! read more

Driving through Sheridan to Yellowstone and needed quick attentive service, and good food of course and they delivered on all counts! Has a trendy feel, and nice ambiance that matched the cultural mecca vibe of Sheridan. I had the MELT and my husband had the #33, both were spot on worth the money (my husband thought $15 for a sandwich with truffle fries was a expensive, I feel they earned being a $15 sandwich due to quality of ingredients and taste appeal). Full bar with great artisan cocktails. Definitely a go to if you're in town. read more

If you're looking for awesome ahi poké in the Western US, Frackleton's is the place to go. I will refrain from reviewing any other aspect of this place (not that any review would be bad) due to their poké. Best place to eat in Sheridan. It gets busy for a reason! If it's packed in there you will have to wait for your food so get an app or a salad, they will come out lightening fast and you're food will 100% be worth your wait. This place is consistently good and the staff is awesome. I was passing thru Sheridan on a cross country trip and just wandered into Frackleton's. Sure glad I did. I was dining alone but was treated as if I was the most important person in the place which was very BUSY and had several larger groups (the rodeo was in town). I ordered a half size salad, with a few custom requests which were all made perfectly with no additional charge. It was enough for an entire meal! And, it was delicious. I also ordered the Lamb Bolognese which was also a generous portion. It was melt in your mouth delicious. I truly needed a dinner companion to share it with - oh well!! No room for dessert. Jenna was the waitress who was attentive and friendly even though her station was very busy. I'd go back in a heart beat when traveling thru/to Sheridan. read more

The food and service are fantastic. We had the lamb shank, free range chicken, some kind of curry soup and the house salad. Delicious buttermilk ranch dressing. Our server Malik G was great as well. This is a story of almost. Not uncomfortable but not comfortable. The staff wasn't unfriendly but they where not friendly. The food wasn't gaggy but it wasn't good. What you will get there is a butt load of almost and then charged out the butt. Save your money and go to the convenience store and get yourself a beef and bean burrito. A fantastic find in our too brief stay in Sheridan. I had the mussels and chorizo risotto, which was delicious, and my husband had the ravioli (he said it was fantastic.) We each sampled excellent craft beer from the local Blacktooth Brewery -- I had the Wagon Box Wheat, hub had Bomber Mountain Amber. The service was also excellent, and to echo another review, the restaurant was filled on a Wednesday night at 8:00, which I saw as a sign of its excellence! Not sure when we'll be back in Sheridan, but when and if we return, we will be sure to dine at Frackelton's. read more

OMG, I would move here just to have their food at least twice a week and one meal would have to be,the grilled chicken breast with chipotle cream sauce with red bell pepper served with penne. The dish called for onions and I am not an onion girl and since each dish is made to order it was no problem to leave them off. I wish I had four stomachs so I could finish it off. Since I am on a drive back to Chicago I actually stopped and bought a container so I could bring it home to share with my husband. Zach, my waiter was wonderful as with the rest of the staff. The bartender knew how to make cocktails! We had cucumber fizz, mojitos, a cherry limeade, and a cucumber martini. Amazing flavored and very fresh! The food was 5 stars from the truffle fries to the Mac and cheese (with truffle oil), the Cubanos and the chilled asparagus salad...all of the dishes had been week thought out and executed win perfection. Wow this place should change their name to Frackledick's, as they cater to their local....well you know what. Showed up for our reservation and no tables were close to ready so the host accommodated us at the bar. Unfortunately right next to a very rude and arrogant local. Almost speechless here, super pretentious bar staff who clearly over serves their regulars. By tolerating this locals total lack of human decency you accepted it as your own. About the only bright side to this place was the host who greeted us and the one who apologized on the way out. Was just passing through and wanted to enjoy a nice dinner with my wife, that didn't happen so can't comment on the food. The welcoming ruined our appetites. As a US Veteran I have traveled the world and no place I visited has ever made me feel like more of a foreigner than Frackleton's. If you end up passing through avoid this place, maybe just avoid Sheridan altogether. read more

I love their salads. Definitely try one of those or an appetizer. And you can't go wrong with any of the desserts :) Update: my server the last time I went was a jerk. I ordered a wine and dessert. After 15 minutes of waiting for my cake, I asked the server where it was and he proceeded to be very short with me and told me I never ordered the cake. He had such a bad attitude about it that he avoided my eyes when giving me the check. I hope the catharsis of treating my family poorly was worth his tip. read more

Took friends visiting there for lunch and brought in an expensive bottle of wine and had to ask twice for glasses and then asked to have the bottle opened and our server came back and tossed a wine key on the table. The corking fee is to get served. I asked for a decanter and that was apparently too big of an ask. When we left, there was still half of the $300 bottle left and I went to the restroom and when I came back it was gone and told it was already in the garbage. She didn't even attempt to retrieve it. Service in the bar is always great, but the dining room is coin toss. You can have the most amazing meal but if the service is awful it ruins the experience. read more

Outstanding service and food. Everyone (6 adults) were thrilled with their selection and wished we didn't live so far away. Ambience was simple, yet decorated with style. Attentive, courteous staff, most accommodating in every aspect. "Ahi-Tuna Poke Salad" was a stand-out in my book, and can still envisioned the freshness of the tuna and the wasabi mingling perfectly with the other ingredients. We walked in at 7:00 tonight as a family of five plus baby. I stood in front of two hostess's for a few minutes and neither one even acknowledged us but was attentive to the people around us. Finally, a hostess rudely paid attention to us and she said the wait would be over an hour. She continued to tell us that they just sat a party of 9, a party of 8, etc. She didn't even try to be accommodating. This was a very nice place. Open kitchen, nice decor, spacious also. The waiter was very attentive. I got a ribeye it came with fingerling potatoes and sauteed kale with chorizo. I substituted the potatoes for shoestring truffle oil French fries. My steak was cook medium well and it was cooked to perfection. I love a steak that you don't need steak sauce for. And this was one of those steaks. The kale was amazing, not over cooked and not under cooked. The french fries were really good! All and all a good dinner experience. read more

I really like this place. Second time there in two years on my annual trip to Buffalo to George's place. This year, i had the buffalo tenderloin and it was SOOOOO good. Perfectly prepared, med rare with light salt and pepper seasoning. it needed nothing else though it was accompanied by some delish fruity reduction and can't quite recall. We also tasted some calamari which was perfectly breaded and seasoned. Thanks to George's tip i had a started of kale salad which had numerous other goodies within to make it almost a meal in and of itself. Since we had just completed a 12 mile hike and hadn't eaten since breakfast we had to order desert as well, the caramel cake was my choice (of course, can never say no to caramel). there are some other spots to eat in Sheridan to be sure but if you are there for any amount of time that overlaps dinner, Frackleton's HAS to be one of them. cheers, read more

I just had the salmon and it was so very dry and overcooked. I expected better quality especially for the price.

Used to be great Now its mediocre Last 3 times I have been here there is always some problem with the food. WAY over cooked, long waits and although the service is good, it gets old. I noticed that of the 2 tables near us at least one person had an issue of some kind with the food. I just get tired of the bad food in this town, its an industry standard. read more

On our way out west for a Christmas holiday and decided to try this cozy restaurant - absolutely must do in the quant and beautiful city of Sheridan! Come eat and enjoy all the delicious delectables this restaurant has to offer and don't miss dessert! Our ahi appetizer (we choose to have it on a bed of field greens, which was drizzled with a wasabi salad dressing that was amazing) was absolutely scrumptious. We also ordered the Mahi sandwich special that was served with fresh cut sweet potato fries that were salted with course sea salt of which, we dipped in the amazing wasabi salad dressing. Staff was knowledgeable (the restaurant cared enough about their food to make sure staff tastes the food they are serving), warm and engaging. It started our Christmas holiday off on the right foot and we will definitely be back on our way home. Stopped at Frackleston's on our way back home and had another amazing meal. We had fresh garlicky mussels served with sour dough rolls, the poke bowl (because it's awesome), homemade cream of mushroom soup with truffle oil, beef kabobs with chimichurri sauce and a triple berry tart. Why was I in Sheridan, WY, you ask? Well...I was driving cross country, was hungry, searched on yelp and found this gem! I had the ahi tuna salad, and for being in a state no where close to an ocean, I was pleasantly surprised. The ahi tuna was delish! I splurged and also had the lemon white cake with raspberry compote. Now tell me what part of that doesn't sound amazing??? Exactly!!! It was SOOOO amazing! If I EVER found myself in WY again, and close to Sheridan WY, I will definitely pay another visit to Frackletons! read more

We enjoyed this place! After a few days on the road and eating in spots that were hit or miss, this was a welcome oasis. It is located in an older storefront downtown, but has been updated nicely, including some local artwork. The service was efficient and friendly. The food was fresh and very good quality.
