It's a bit too bitter for me. Slightly more than Starbucks but not as smooth as say Kalypso. I've tried several different coffees there and found it to be a normal. Foxtail Coffee is... fine. Nothing special, nothing terrible. The coffee itself is pretty average--good enough to get me through the day, but not something I'd go out of my way for. The drinks are pretty basic, but I like the consistency, and they have a lot of options, so they can cover most flavors or drinks that you would be in the mood for. I do like the convenience of the location, and that's honestly the main reason I come back. My go-to order is a coconut mocha cold brew, which is probably the highlight for me--it's tasty and consistent. I like the store to sit in and do work, and a while back, I would pass it everyday on my drive to class, so it was the perfect option for an on-the-way stop. Foxtail Coffee has truly raised the bar for what a coffee shop experience should be. The coffee was absolutely amazing--rich, smooth, and full of flavor. But what really made my visit exceptional was the service. Amber and Valdo went above and beyond to make me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. They were warm, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing, making sure every detail of my order was perfect. It's rare to find staff who genuinely care about creating such a positive experience for their customers, but Amber and Valdo nailed it. Starbucks recently changed their Birthday reward (free drink of choice) to where you have to purchase something to get the drink free AND it has to be used ON your birthday or it expires. I had no idea and was turned down on my Free drink two days after my birthday. The barista was so rude about it as well - "so do you want the drink still or not" after I shaded I was unaware of the reward expiring if not used ON my birthday... I walked away and vowed to NEVER give Starbucks any of my business moving forward. I shared this story with Amber, who wished me a happy birthday AND gave me my drink, free. I only drink decaf and Foxtail's decaf is the best one I've ever had. It's very smooth and I dare to say it tastes mildly sweet even though it's just black, freshly brewed, decaf coffee. You're better off going to Dunkin and saving money while getting better food. Could not even finish my chai latte as it was way too sweet you can barely taste the tea at all. 'Sandwich' if you can call it that is a joke. Everything was barely warm from the bagel itself to the fake & flavorless egg and cheese. I had their cold brew which was so smooth and non-acidic even my partner who doesn't normally like cold brew kept taking sips. Also ordered a breakfast bagel sandwich and split a pineapple fritter. The sandwich was good, especially for a coffeeshop that has minimal space for making stuff. Good, really good mocha latte! I am sure that it's real chocolate because it was dark & rich. The donut, coffee cake donut was phenomenal! The donuts are from Shaka Donuts or at least that's what it says on the door. This location is so convenient, down the street from ORMC and The Surgery Center. It's a wonderful place to enjoy your drinks and pastries quietly. It is a big space with lots of seating, tables and hi-top facing windows for coffee with a view. There is a parking lot because no street parking. The service is wonderful. I was unsure of what to order, they were patient in answering questions and providing suggestions. Will return! read more

I was a hopeful Foxtail would be open this morning in the post-Ian aftermath in Orlando. I'd been checking every day but due to nearby floods, Foxtail had been closed. It's within walking distance of my hotel so I took a nice walk again this morning and headed on over. I could see the lights on so I was thrilled! I was the first customer after Ian! The baristas were happy to have a customer and to be working. A little bit of normalcy in a non-normal world. We chatted and I asked about the source of their coffee. They source directly from farms in Central America and roast their own coffee right here in Orlando. I was excited to try my traditional pure double espresso. No sugar. No cream. Just espresso! The crema produced was incredibly thick and creamy. In fact, there seemed to be more crema than coffee! I've never seen something like this! The aroma was warm and inviting. Now, to taste... One word came to mind for this clearly medium roasted espresso... smooth! Dare I say it, the second word was chocolate! Thanks Foxtail for the delicious tasting experience! Foxtail has gone from one of my favorite spots to an overall disappoint on service and quality. The beverage offerings are decent but not particularly creative or exceptionally good. The market-styled local foods were good, but now it has become an uninspired clone of Starbucks with the baked goods being a big bore. I got a to-go order that was in a giant plastic container. The barista was insistent that I collect each item as it was prepared rather than grabbing my entire order once it was complete. I had to sleuth out this place - Foxtail Coffee in SoDo (South Downtown) in Orlando, Florida. As could be seen on my phone, it got good reviews. It also looked appealing. Upon arriving to Foxtail on foot after getting off the express bus from the airport to downtown, it was indeed a nicer, newer coffeehouse both inside and out. I went in and it was great to be there, with air conditioning that was working very well. There are a lot of rustic looking tables and fixtures, tall ceilings, and a very long glass case of baked goods and many drink choices. Instead of getting a slice of cake or a dessert square, I got one of those gourmet donuts. It was a strawberry cheesecake donut. Wasn't there a famous movie where someone said 'the future is plastics?' However, at this juncture, I was thinking that "the future is gourmet donuts!" So many have jumped on this bandwagon where "putting lipstick on a pig," so to speak, brings in the moolah. What I mean is that, through dressing up a donut with some funky and innovative ingredients, the price goes way up. Okay, okay ... it was a good donut. But splurging on a novelty donut every now and then also makes me appreciate when I pass by the bakery section of the supermarket, pick up a piece of wax paper, and select a double chocolate donut costing 89 cents. The service was sort of staid. It's those classic millennial indie coffeehouse employees. However, they got the job done accurately and without much fuss. Speaking of that, granolas are everywhere and, with its over 20 million inhabitants, there will also be some in Florida. And, believe it or not, when they do a ranking of the 10 most liberal or avant-garde colleges in the U.S., New College of Florida in Sarasota is often on that list. I enjoyed my visit to Foxtail Coffee, mostly owing to its great ambiance. Rather than a touristy crowd, it seems to get its business from employees at many nearby businesses, a large medical complex a few blocks away, and even people who might live in downtown condos overlooking lakes or ponds that don't beckon for obvious reasons. There is also a small parking lot. I intended to visit to eat, drink, and spend my time waiting for an Amtrak train here (the train station was about half a mile away on foot and it was hot outside) and it worked out well. I love everything about Foxtail except their coffee. In my humble opinion the coffee is horrible. I had a regular coffee which was weaker than the free coffee I could get at my hotel. I also had a Cuban coffee which was made from the same beans as the regular coffee, just in expresso form. Since I hated the regular coffee because of the taste, I really hated the Cuban version. I will just stick to the other chain which I know better and they have a dark bold version of the coffee I prefer. So if you are reading this far, here are some of the pluses of this Foxtail coffee. They have great customer service and the baristas are really helpful. Both times I came to this spot there were 3 people on duty and I was the only guest. Really love that ratio. They are dog friendly. YAY! And finally, they have cool decor. I could see coming here to read or work and drinking my own coffee, lol. Maybe ordering some food. Very nicely done coffee shop. It's not getting a ton of Yelp love at the moment, but it seems that has less to do with Foxtail's appeal as a coffee shop, and more to do with issues around food service. Personally, I wasn't here for the food (and doubt I'll ever be). I enjoyed my Americano, and was very comfortable hanging out in the spacious, aesthetically pleasing dining room for an hour while getting some work done. I have to discount my review by a star due to pricing. My Americano was over $4 before tax and tip, making it about a dollar pricier (and no better) than the coffee shops I typically spend time in around town. Not unreasonable, but still notable. I have seen Foxtail, but never really ventured inside, let's face it when you want coffee you tend to gravitate towards Starbucks. This place is so cool. Very bright and decorated industrial style. I guess this location has a bagel bruno, never heard of it but after today I am a fan!! Wow, the menu had so many different coffees and expressos. I ended up choosing the peppermint mocha and the pecorino bagel with plain cream cheese. The mocha was excellent, I loved the flavor way better than Starbucks any day. The bagel was perfectly toasted and had a great flavor. My first experience here was very good. I was impressed and felt I could visit this place a dozen times and order something different each time. I also learned from a nice gentleman that Foxtail contributes to local charities such as One Pulse and Libby's Legacy which help the community and the people who live in it. Bagel Bruno (yes same family as Pizza Bruno) has taken on a second location making delicious bagels, fun spreads (like brown sugar espresso), and amazing breakfast sandwiches! While the food is very good and of good quality, and the coffee is tasty, don't expect them to carry items they claim to sell. Out of the last 8 times that I have attempted to order a cold brew with Nitro, I was informed that they were out of Nitro. I have gone in early morning, midafternoon and late afternoon, but I'm always told the same thing that they are out of Nitro. If you can't keep nitro in stock, stop telling customers you carry it. Counter service is substandard. You won't be greeted with a smile or a kind word by the employees. In the morning there isn't even someone at the counter to take your order. After waiting for a minute or to and seeing no one, you need to shout hello for someone to come out of the back room to take your order. This has been standard practice 6 out of the last 8 times that I have attempted to incorporate this place into my daily routine. The average time it takes to purchase a cold brew (sadly without nitro) is 8-10 minutes. Still haven't figured out why it takes so long but I could be more forgiving of how slow the employees move if they were friendly and at least made it a pleasant experience. Out of my last eight visits, one time I ordered the blueberry cheesecake treat to go with my cold brew (also sadly lacking nitro on this day). I even had a conversation with the employee about how much I like the pastry, in hopes of invoking a more friendly demeanor. After approximately a ten minute wait (I timed it.) I was handed a cold brew without my pastry. When I asked where my pastry was the girl, who did not take my order told me that I had only ordered a coffee. I asked her to check the ticket and see if there was a mistake. When she saw that there was no pastry on the ticket. She immediately said well someone is lying. Being accused of being a liar is not how I want to rectify a mistake on an order. I called the guy out from the back and asked him about the pastry that I ordered. She went on to say, "yep, someone is lying. Customer service at this Foxtail is a zero. Don't waste your time or your money patronizing this place. They won't have items that they claim to sell. They won't smile when you walk in the door, and there first way to handle a mistake or misunderstanding is to call you a liar. I live across the street from this place. I will alert my neighbors to avoid patronizing Foxtail on the corner of Orange and Annie. The sad thing is, I really wanted to like this place. read more

(Or use it to look at patient or client info - looking at you scrubs and suits) While you should use a VPN I couldn't connect to turn on the VPN. For techies: while we all know you are taking some minimum risk connecting to public wifi this situation and should connect using a VPN, their wifi had no password (bad but whatever) and the gateway captive portal redirect landing page returned unsigned (actual big deal) -- secure connection failed -- unable to even get a unsecured connection to log into a VPN and make a private/secure internet connection. The new guy (probably a friend of a regular guy with long red hair serving for a few weeks there) refuse to accept cash from me.That was weird because I always pay cash in that coffee shop. He lied saying that "since pennies are no longer,he doesn't accept cash". Really??? Dollars are official money in USA still. Right? I didn't place an order,and I went to another Foxtail location on Orange Ave,(across McDonald,just a half of a mile from this location) during my lunch,and I had been served with no problems,and I paid CASH there. I told all the story,and I made sure that other customers listened. The employees were surprised too as I was surprised in the morning today. So, I am wondering why the guy with nail polish(as his friend who listened there and didn't say anything) did it to me,a loyal customer for years there? Was it an attempt to scam my credit card? Should cyber security be aware of this incident? Or it was just a hostile prank of the loyal customer? Let me tell you about the appearance of both guys. Nail polish, as theirs ,shouldn't be allowed in the food/beverages businesses. As a health provider I can tell you how much bacteria and other germs are under such nails,and they even didn't use GLOVES!!! Super cute Foxtail coffee shop! Loved the style inside. Beautiful decor. They have a good sized eating area inside and outside. I've been to a different location before but have not tried any of their specialty coffees. Today I ventured out of my comfort zone and tried Jacob's favorite. Peppermint Mocha with oat milk. It was way too sweet for my taste, but it was it was very delicious if you like specialty lattes. Their mocha is way better than the Starbucks mocha and the peppermint offered a great kick. Not too overpowering but just enough. As far as Gluten Free or Vegan options- they have the options available for your drinks. But when it comes to their food, I was disappointed. They had nothing available that was GF except an apple. I asked if they had any substitutes for their toasts and sadly they do not carry GF substitutes. I hope they could change that in the future. We were so excited to have foxtail bagel bruno combo in our neighborhood. When we ordered our bagels and my coffee, my coffee came right away. We were waiting and waiting for our bagels. About three people came after us over the span of 10 minutes and they all got their food. After the 4th got their food, and had ordered the same Good Morning on everything bagel we did, I got up to say something. They said the cook had just got behind the counter and they were going to work on the order now. A couple minutes later, the barista came back to say they lost our ticket. When our food was ready, the barista apologized for the delay. Once we sat down to eat our bagels 20 minutes later, the bagel sandwich was wrong and it was on plain bagel not the everything bagel we ordered... we just gave up and ate it.
