I definitely jinxed it. Not 5 days ago I wrote a glowing five star review for Foxtail Coffee. Every visit to date was a real treat, the coffee was always fresh, hot and flavorful. Absolutely loved it. I have no idea what happened on my last visit but the cappuccino I got was putrid. It tasted stale, burnt and metallic. And it wasn't hot. While I was not paying close attention, I could swear that it was not freshly pulled out of the espresso machine nor was the milk freshly frothed. From the time I ordered to the time I got the coffee it took 20 seconds. How is this possible? I have a really nice espresso machine at home and there's no way I could be serving cappuccinos in 20 seconds. Regardless, the proof is in the taste which was absolutely terrible and the temperature which was lukewarm. It was like stale 7-Eleven coffee at best. Blech. Lame and unacceptable. One star. I'll try one more time but if it sucks again, I guess I'll be sticking with Subculture and Starbucks. read more

Came in Sunday at noon expecting a chill coffee break--maybe a cold brew and a fresh chocolate croissant before my movie. Instead, I was greeted by a mop bucket of dirty water and a dining room where every chair was flipped like they were closing, not open (hours say 7am-7pm, by the way). Gave it a shot anyway. Asked if the croissants were fresh; got a condescending "we're not a bakery." No kidding. There's also a way to say, "they're delivered daily and we can warm one up," but customer service didn't make the menu. Then asked if I could sit, and got an annoyed "yes, we're cleaning, ma'am." This cozy coffee shop is located at the Lakeview Centre in West Boca. The shy but professional barista served me up a strong cup of Farm Blend Colombian double espresso with an amazing aroma. The coffee was presented in a mini cup bearing the Foxtail Coffee brand name. Loved the thick wood chairs at the coffee bar. The flower murals on the walls were a nice addition. They offered cookies, oatmeal, muffins and croissants as simple treats to complement a coffee. If you are not a coffee freak, they have optional hot tea with an array of flavors. We grabbed some iced lattes after our workout class this morning and it was delicious. It was a quiet morning with only 2-3 people inside, and it was very peaceful. The staff were very quick and kind and took our order immediately. I ordered two iced lattes with honey, almond milk, and cinnamon. I've never seen cinnamon be an up charge until today. What a peculiar thing! I've always understood milk and flavor substitute charges, but 25 cents for cinnamon just felt unnecessary. Not an issue though. We did get a lot of it and it added depth to the latte, which I very much enjoyed. Their coffee is truly one of a kind. They offer a variety of unique flavors that would be hard to find at most other spots. As I was in the area and had never stopped here, I decided to try this coffee shop. It is a one bay shop with seating both inside and outside. A young man stepped up to one of the registers and asked what I was going to have. I told him that I wanted a large hot coffee with creamer. I also told him that I would have one of the blueberry muffins in the glass case. He asked if I wanted it heated and I said yes. He gave me my coffee and I sat at a table. He arrived at my table a few minutes later and I thought he would put my muffin on a plate (like the other customers had their food served to them). He threw a bag on my table and announced my food had arrived. The muffin was very hot and he didn't offer me a fork and a knife that I once again observed other customers using. He never came back to see if everything was okay. The muffin was mostly cake with some blueberries. I felt that the young man needed a course in customer service. I was not impressed with this shop. Considering there is a Latin brunch restaurant next door that was busy, this shop needs to improve their customer relations. read more

In the area that this is located in, it is such a great spot since it does open up earlier than other coffee shops (excluding Dunkin & Starbucks). I love the rustic feel of the place. The wood and metal gives it such a cozy vibe. The art on the wall is very enticing to a person like me that gravitates to places that are artistic in some way. It's off of Glades Road In the Marshalls/ Publix Greenwise shopping center and right next door to Jeramiahs. I was impressed and really liked everything here. The only downside is I paid $6 for a regular iced coffee with almond milk, which is a bit pricey compared to nearby coffee shops. I decided to try the coffee shop again. The butterscotch latte is fantastic. However, I was very disappointed in the butterscotch cappuccino due to the price and size. We were in town for a hockey tournament and stayed at the Holiday Inn, same parking lot. Service - awesome! The staff were quick and friendly. There is seating indoors and out with plenty of parking. The barista was super friendly and helpful with answering questions. I had decided on getting an iced latte with butterscotch syrup. The barista asked if I had tried a butter beer from Universal before and if I liked it. My answer was yes and he told me he could make an iced latte inspired by a butter beer. Self explanatory menu - simple yet to the point items that is very reasonably priced. It's not crowded with fancy teas or imported coffees that costs you an arm and a leg. Raw and talented barista - Amir (my apologies if I misspelled your name) created the most delicious cup of coffee accompanied with some cute latte art (LOVE) . Very few but substantial pastry items. I believe this shop has a location in Orlando which I've been to before. They use real barista milk and seem very knowledgeable about coffee -- i'm a barista myself at a small coffee shop and know what it looks and sounds like to make a good coffee, and they know it and have the ingredients for it. They have pastries and a relatively large coffee menu. The coffee was good, I loved that they had all the good Monin flavors. I went with butterscotch, so yummy. The only thing is that it wasn't strong enough for my liking, so I probably would have to get another shot added if I ever go back when I'm in the area. Tried Foxtail today...it was okay. Nothing to brag about. Here are a few things we ordered. 1) Butterscotch Latte - 7/10. It was good but not great. 2) Mocha Latte - 5/10. I didn't love it. You can definitely taste the hints of cocoa and coffee in a different way than like at Starbucks but idk it wasn't for me. 3) Foxtail Breakfast Sandwich - 3/10 it's basically the same as Starbucks with the thinnest pieces of ham. I ended up tossing the ham. 4) Ham and Cheese Croissant - 8/10. It was nice and flaky and the cheese was melted throughout. It is really cute in there I must say, very industrial and moody. Croissant & Doughnut was way to dry. Kids didn't eat they. We ordered 2 hot chocolate, expresso and late. Hot chocolate was not hot, that in this case was good. As the kids were able to drink it immediately. My expresso was ok. Beens were little more on the burnt side and it's reflected in the taste. I come here with my kids. They get ice cream at Jeremiah's and my wife and I get coffee. I've been here many times, not once did I think the "service" was good.
