On the way back to the Pittsburgh area from a trip to Thiel College for a football game, we stopped…read moreat the Grove City Primanti's location for a late lunch/early dinner. I have been by this location many times before on previous trips to the Outlets, but had never stopped until this trip. Primanti Bro's is a classic Pittsburgh institution - a bar and grill, most famously known for their giant sandwiches that have fries and coleslaw on top. This location is one of their many throughout Western Pennsylvania. They serve all the classics you expect, and have the more expanded menu that includes appetizers, pizza, and other entrees that most of their expansion locations have. This Primanti's location is right off of 79, and sits just outside the Grove City Outlet Mall. It can be accessed via exit 113 whether you are traveling northbound or southbound. It sits next to the Eat'n Park, and has its own entrance and exit to the private parking lot. There is a lot of signage and imagery on the building to let you know you are in the right spot, along with a modest road sign. We arrived around 4:00 PM on a Saturday in October. It was fairly busy, but we were seated right away. There were several parties both in the bar area and in the main dining room, but still open seats and tables available. Even though the bar is in another room, there were still plenty of TVs to catch all of the college football action within our view in the main dining room. To start, we ordered a new to us appetizer, which was the Loaded Onion Rings. These are typical Onion Rings topped with Bacon, Cheddar, Signature BCR Sauce, and Green Onion. I thought that these were pretty good. However, I wish for the price point that there were more Onion Rings included. It seemed a tad slim for $10. Also, the Bacon was pretty sparce, and therefore did not add a ton a flavor to the dish. But, it was good overall. Our appetizer arrived fairly quickly, less than 10 minutes after ordering it. We also got our main meals in a timely manner, less than 30 minutes after ordering. There were three of us total, and we each got a different variety of sandwich. My dad got the Colossal Fish & Cheese, which truly was colossal! The piece of cod was probably enough for two sandwiches. My fiance ordered the Don Big Boss Italian, which is his typical go-to here. I decided to give a different sandwich a try and got the Deluxe Double Egg & Cheese. I really did enjoy this. It is perfect for a lighter option with not as much meat. All the sandwiches had a generous amount of fries and toppings. Sometimes, some locations do not give as much as they should/as advertised, but these were all made well and stacked tall. I got a lighter sandwich because I also wanted to have some pizza. Primanti's pizza is very good, and they sometimes run good deals on it for takeout (I so miss the BOGO Pizza nights they used to run...bring it back!!!). I do appreciate that you can order just a singular slice, so that is what I did this time. The slice was a little small compared to what I have gotten in the past/compared to the picture on the menu. And it was a little dilapidated looking. Nonetheless, it did taste good and satisfied my pizza craving. When I eat here, I usually eat half of my sandwich and save the rest for another meal. I did that this time as well. The sandwich held up well and was great when I enjoyed it the next day. We had a positive service experience here overall. The food came out correctly and timely. The wait staff was friendly, efficient, and accommodating. No complaints on the service at all! I always think that Primanti's is a great value. This is especially true if you are in the Rewards Program/have their app. It is pretty easy to rack up points and get a $5 off coupon to use for your next visit, as you get a $5 coupon for every $50 spent. There are also often random coupons and specials that I get notified about via email or within the app that I like to take advantage of. If you are utilizing these offers and programs, it becomes an even better deal than it already is. However, if you do not use those, the sticker prices on the menu are very fair. A sandwich typically runs between $8 and $12, depending on the meat selection and additional toppings, which I believe is a great price for the quality of the food and the amount received. For three adults to eat, including an appetizer and non-alcoholic drinks, it came to less than $50. Hard to beat that in today's world! Glad to have finally seen this Primanti's location and given it a try. Though I have eaten at Primanti's more times than I can even count, it is always fun to try something familiar in a new place. We had a positive experience overall with great portion sizes for the sandwiches, quick and friendly service, TV access throughout the restaurant, and a clean and welcoming atmosphere. I would recommend giving this location a try if you are in the area shopping or find yourself passing through!

They also serve a variety of craft beers inside their lodge-inspired restaurant. I was able to get there just before the dinner rush on a Sunday and was seated quickly. I was seated at a table that gave me a good view of the restaurant. On this visit, I chose to skip the mains and try some shareables. I started with a bowl of their soup, which had ground beef and cheese and was almost like a chilli. Next up, I tried one of their specialties, the Burning Mussels, made with bacon, peppers, and tomatoes in a garlic-butter and white-wine broth, topped with Asiago and parmesan cheeses and served with garlic toast. The mussels were fresher than I thought they would be, and there is enough broth and ingredients, making the dish very hearty and filling. I finished with the Lamb Lollipops, a trio of three grilled chops, served on a bed of risotto. The lamb was cooked medium-rare like I ordered it and was seasoned just right. The food and ambiance were great, and the servers were friendly, and I had a great meal. The dishes combined made quite a meal and were more than enough for one person. On my next visit, I'll definitely try an entree.
