Moreover, blatantly went out of way to raise the cost of cab fare. Caught one in Cambridge (at Central) and, honestly, didn't even look at the door. When we got in, we asked if he took cards and he immediately swung around in his seat, got in my face, called me a little girl, while crediting my partner for being knowledgeable since he was a guy (and clearly superior in intelligence) and lectured for about five minutes (continuing after the car was moving) about how no cab drivers anywhere in Boston would ever take cards on Friday or Saturday. While this should have tipped us off, we tried to ignore it. He pulled away and then asked where we were going (MGH), but instead of going towards Kendall and the Longfellow, he drove us down Mass Ave. We didn't bother correcting him, because at the time, we were more concerned that he was accelerating at every turn, jerking the car about, braking erratically, and, when not convincing us of our imminent deaths, turned on the light and started counting his wadded up cash?! Of course then he couldn't figure out how to turn the light off. After another fear-inspiring turn (only to be matched in skill by Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, in Disney - you know, the one where you drive through walls and run people over), we realized we were near the museum of science!!! And that he was pulling into where the duck boats drive to pick up people! He actually was going to drive us over every speed bump. On purpose. "To avoid traffic." At 1:30 am. Until this experience, I honestly did not realize that anyone could be so ridiculous as to try to convince someone that a standing area was a great detour. Needless to say, we got out, he apparently gave my friend a hard time asking why we would want to get out now, and we walked, safely, back to MGH from there. TL;DR: the cab driver was sexist, rude, flagrantly ignored personal space to the point of assault, drove like a maniac (in the most literal sense of the word), and took us on an epic journey (not the good kind) instead of a 5-minute jaunt across the river. Perhaps the only positive thing I have to say is thanksgiving came early and now I'm just thankful to have survived. Someone please take this guy's license away.

Though there were 2 other parties at the bar eating full meals at right around 9, we opted not to order a second round of drinks because of the time. The bartender brought our check without asking if we wanted another round so it was pretty clear she wanted us gone. I went back last night to grab some food and another drink I had seen on the menu I liked the sound of. I was going to get a table but the bar wasn't busy, so I told hostess I'd sit at bar. I was sitting down as a bartender walked by. She never even looked at me, just walked to end of the bar and hung with a group of 4-5 people who were there. There was no eye contact, no hello, nothing. I had no desire to sit there after that, so I went to hostess said I had changed my mind and would like a table. Told her I could sit at a hightop in the bar as well. She said no, i'll get you a table. She led me to a table in the smaller room where there were no other people at all. A couple of tables away from me was a large table that looked like it sat either 6 or 8 people, that was totally a mess. I couldn't believe the table hadn't been cleared off and cleaned as soon as the guests had left. My table felt sticky too but I didn't see the others looked much better. Food-wise, the burger was cooked OK but as others said, it was nothing special. The french fries were like McDonalds, the thin kind. The waiter did as best he could, he was polite, but I think they may have been short-handed because I saw all different people delivering orders. It was very awkward being the ONLY person in a dining room instead of around other people. I couldn't wait to leave and when the waiter came to ask if I wanted dessert, I just asked him to bring the check. The drink I'd planned on getting was a dessert type martini and I had no interest in staying there to get it. I left him a decent tip because I felt he was trying, but overall, I felt somewhat discriminated against by where I was seated. My impression is that the staff for the most part, have no interest in being there. The restaurant now looks old and rundown, from when it first opened. I won't be going back.
